glossary

(Sanskrit, or Manonmayakosa) One of the five koshas (sheaths or bodies) in Hindu Vedanta and the Upanishads. Corresponds to the astral body; in Hebrew Kabbalah it is called Hod. Some modern Hindu groups refer to this as the "mental body," yet mean the astral body, or kama rupa, the body of desire. For the actual mental body, see vijnanamaya kosha (also called kama manas).

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"In these studies of Kabbalah, we need to be practical; there are authors who write marvels, but when one looks at them, one realizes that they have not lived what they have written; they did not experience it in themselves, and that is why they are mistaken. I understand that one must write what one has directly experienced by oneself. I have proceeded in this way for my part."
