Greek Ἑσπερίδες, "daughters of the evening." Three divine ladies who, accompanied by a divine serpent, protect the treasures of the gods, including golden apples. They are also heralds of the wedding night, and serve ambrosia to the gods.
"Those who only preoccupy themselves with their own spiritual progress and do not work for others achieve absolutely nothing. Whosoever wants to progress must sacrifice the self for others."
