Eden עדן and Menorah מנורה are both Hebrew words that together form an anagram translated as עדן מנורה “delight from the light (עדן מן האור) or voluptuousness manna in the light,” respectively. In this graphic we see a metallic tree with nine candles, this represents the Tree of Knowledge, which has its roots in Yesod, where we find the two Cherubim. These are the famous Tibetan Yab-Yum. In Gnosticism, these two Cherubim represent the two male-female polarities of the Daleth ד of Eden עדן, the two Cherubim of the Ark.
It is stated: “The Cherubim of the Ark touch each other with their wings, and they face each other in such a manner as to form a man and a woman performing the sacred copulation.”
While analyzing, from an alchemical point of view, how these male-female Cherubim were touching each other with their wings while performing the sacred copulation, we arrive at the conclusion that the wings represent the male-female Azoth of the alchemists that rises through Ida and Pingala (the two serpents of the Caduceus of Mercury) in order to form the opened wings of the Spirit. Moses, who says in the first day of Genesis: “And Elohim called the light - יום Iom - Day,” wrote in the seventh day of Genesis:
“These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth - בהבראם behibaram - when they were created – by Abraham, ביום beYom - by the light, עשות-Asoth, Jehovah Elohim יהוה אלהים, in earth and heavens.” - Genesis 2: 4
There are the two “A’s” of Hebrew: Aleph, meaning “Oxen”; and Ayin עין, meaning, “eye, fountain, spring.” Aleph א is glottal, and Ayin ע is pharyngeal. Ayin ע (the fountain) and the four streams of the river of Eden are represented in the letter ד Daleth. Both letters, Aleph and Daleth, are in the words Daath דעת, the canopy of the tree of knowledge and Eden עדן, the root of the Tree of Knowledge and Tree of Life. The Tav ת of Daath is the cross. The final-Nun ן of Eden represent the spermatozoon and ovum
Aleph : “For all the beasts of the woods are mine: the בהמות-Behemoth on the hills, and the אלף-Aleph, oxen.” - Psalm 50: 10
Ayin : “And the angel of יהוה Jehovah found her by (עין Ayin) a fountain of water in the wilderness, by (העין HaAYin) the fountain in the way to (the throat) Taurus (שור Shur).” - Genesis 16: 7
In Hebrew, in Genesis 2: 4, the word “making” is Asoth עשות, spelled Ayin-Shin-Vav-Tav. Asoth עשות is the Azoth of the alchemists. Azoth is that aerial or mercurial element, the sexual mixture of Salt, Mercury and Sulphur, that rises in each spinal column of earth and heavens, which are the two, male and female, Cherubim. Just the fact that the two Cherubim are touching each other with their wings is showing us that they are not performing an ordinary, animal sexual copulation, but what we call Tantra.
In the ordinary, animal sexual act, the brute mercury or semen is mixed, shared between the male and female, in order to create physical life. However, in Tantrism, the alchemists work with the mixture of their Azoth עשות, the outcome of the sublimation of the ens virtutis of Iod (or the Shakti potential of the ens seminis, their Brute Mercury) during the sacred copulation. The wings therefore represent the sublimation of the Ens Virtutis of Iod, the Soul of the Mercury, during the sacred copulation. This is the Iod of Min מין (sex). Min מין is a Hebrew word that is spelled, Mem-Iod-final Nun. The letter Iod י contains the Shakti potential of Iom יום, “Light of the Absolute”; this is why it is the first letter of the sacred name of Elohim יהוה and represents Kether, the Father, the first Sephirah of the Tree of Life.
The word Menorah מנורה is translated as “lamp.” This word can be disambiguated or further broken down into “Min-aura.” Min מין means “sex”, and the Aur אור, or “Aura” is light. In other words, the word Menorah can alchemically be translated as “sexual light.” The word aura in English relates to the resplendency found around the heads of Masters or Saints of any religion. Therefore, the Menorah points to that light which enlightens any alchemist and that emerges from the sexual glands. Another word similar to Min in Hebrew, is Manna—if you just take the Iod from the word Min מין, what remains is “M” מ and “N” ן. Manna מן, in Hebrew, is written with מ and ן. Just by adding the letter Iod in between them, we spell the word Min מין, which means “sex” in Hebrew.
It is written: “this Manna מן is the bread which Iod-Havah has given you to eat” (Exodus 16:15). We, the Gnostics, say: “The immortal Gods nourish themselves with the Manna מן of the wilderness.” This wilderness is Tiphereth, where the alchemists make the transformation of the solar light (or solar energy) from their soul, from their psyche, in each and every one of the twelve archetypes of Israel, by means of the Tree of Knowledge. Regarding this Tree of Knowledge, Eliphas Levi stated:
“What is testified in Egyptian religious traditions is summarized symbolically by Moses at the beginning of Genesis. Moses depicts it under the figure of a Tree which stands in the midst of the Terrestrial Paradise, in proximity to the Tree of Life and is joined at the root thereto. At the foot of this Tree is the source of the four mysterious rivers of Eden עדן; it is guarded by the sword of fire and by the four symbolical forms of the Biblical Sphinx or the Cherubim of Ezekiel.”
So, what the bible calls the Tree of Knowledge is the union of the man and the woman in the sacred copulation. It is not an ordinary copulation. We need to know Tantra in order to understand that the Tree of Knowledge is precisely the way in which we have to positively behave, sexually speaking, in order for the wings of the Spirit or ens virtutis not to die within us.
The Menorah with nine lights is associated with Hanukkah חנוכה, or “Festival of Lights.” Hanukkah חנוכה is rooted in the word Hanok חנוך, which in English is translated as “Enoch.” We address Enoch in the lecture Kabbalah of Genesis 23: Iod, the River of Eden עדן; in it we explain that Enoch was the name of the Bodhisattva of the angel Metatron, the angel that represents Kether, the first Sephirah of the Tree of Life. So, Hanok חנוך, Enoch, is the Bodhisattva of Metatron, and the Bible indicates to us that in order to receive enlightenment, we have to work with Enoch, who represents the letter Iod י in the Tree of Life. Iod is the Shakti potential of the sexual creative energy, symbolized with olive oil, that which we have to sublimate from Yesod, in order to acquire the nine lights of the Menorah מנורה.
Alchemically, Hanukkah חנוכה relates to the battles of Judah Maccabee, who just as any alchemist, was performing the work of the Menorah in every Sephirah of the Tree of Life, in the world of Yetzirah. He lived about one hundred years before Jesus. Judah Maccabee, as many alchemists have, purified the altar of the temple of his own God by fighting against the tenebrous forces of evil (that abide within every one of us). There are two books attributed to Judah Maccabee, where we can read with the eyes of the Spirit about this purification that all of us should perform. It is stated that at the end of such purification, when Judah Maccabee finally conquered the temple of Jerusalem, they found only one container of olive oil; this is a clear allusion to the sexual container of the alchemists that perform such a miracle in the Ninth Sphere, in Yesod. The sexual oil of Yesod is enough in order to enlighten Malkuth (to the eight Venustic Initiations) and the rest of the Sephiroth of the entire Tree of Life. Tradition states that the priests found only one container in order to enlighten the Menorah for one day; yet, the Menorah endured for eight days. These days relate to the eight Venustic Initiations and to the work with Enoch or Hanuk and the Enneagram in the Second Mountain. This whole alchemical work is represented in the seventh day of the Book of Genesis. The seventh day is Malkuth, represented by Adam and Eve, the male-female Cherubim performing the sacred copulation in Eden, the work of psychological death that we have to perform in order to sanctify the Sabbath.
"And of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, Elohim has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die." - Genesis 3: 3
“Whosoever has an ear (better said, whosoever has clairaudience), let him hear (in Daath, the throat, through the chakra Vishuddha) what the (Holy) Spirit says unto the churches; He that overcomes (the orgasm) shall not be hurt of the second death.” - Revelation 2: 11
When the seventh day is addressed alchemically, it is the physical body that is being addressed, along with the soul and the Spirit. Thus, we have to sanctify the Spirit, the soul and the body, the three triangles of the Tree of Life, which are represented by the three mother letters and all the nine lights of the Menorah. This is the work with Enoch and the Enneagram. It is described by the Master Samael in The Three Mountains. He said that the Patriarch Enoch was a great Master that existed in the ring of bronze.
“The ring of bronze is emphatically referred to (amongst others) as a symbol of time.
Cyclically, it conducts the Gnostic Arhat to that ancient patriarchal epoch, denominated the Age of Bronze, or Dvapara Yuga, which indubitably preceded our contemporary Age of Iron, or Kali Yuga...
The best authors of occultism have always affirmed that the second trans-alpine catastrophe, which completely modified the geological physiognomy of the planet Earth, occurred between these two ages.
The seventh, among the ten sublime anti-delugean Patriarchs, is without any supposition, completely different from the six who in the course of the centuries preceded him—Adam, Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared—as well as the three who succeeded him—Methuselah, Lamech, Noah.
Nonetheless, it is clear that among all of this, what is more astonishing for us is the sacred name of Enoch, which, when translated, signifies, “initiate; devotee; consecrated one; Master.”
The Hebraic Genesis (5:24) solemnly asseverates that Enoch did not truly die physically, but rather “Enoch walked with God and was not; for God took him.”
Very ancient esoteric traditions, which are lost within the night of the centuries, clearly state that while Enoch was upon the majestic summit of Mount Moria, he had a clairvoyant Samadhi, in which his illuminated objective consciousness was taken and transported into the nine heavens (which are cited by Dante in his Divine Comedy). In the last one of these heavens (in the heaven of Neptune), the Patriarch found the Lost Word (his own Verbum, his individual, particular Monad).
Posteriorly, such a great Hierophant wanted to express his vision through a permanent and imperishable monument...
Thus, he then absolutely determined with great wisdom to build under that blessed place itself a subterranean, secret temple, which was comprised of nine cellars successively arranged one under another, within the living innermost parts of the Mount...
Certainly, his son Methuselah was the physical architect in charge of such an extraordinary sancta...
The specific and defined contents and the destiny of each one of these cellars or magical caves (which were connected to one another by means of a spiralling ladder) is not mentioned...
Nonetheless, the last of these caves is the one which absorbs the whole occult importance.
Therefore, the anterior cellars just constitute the indispensable secret path that finally leads to the last cellar, within the greatest profundity of the mountain...
Within the latter, the “penetral” or most intimate “sancta,” is where the Patriarch Enoch deposited his most valuable, esoteric treasure...
The Golden Fleece of the ancient ones, the ineffable and imperishable treasure that we search for, is never found on the surface. Rather, we must excavate, dig, and search within the innermost parts of the Earth until finding it...
By courageously descending into the innermost parts or infernos of the mount of revelation, the initiate finds for himself the mystical treasure (his divine Monad), that was preserved throughout all the innumerable centuries which preceded us in the course of history... We can still read the following in Revelations 2:17:
“To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna מן, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.” – Samael Aun Weor
This is the work that Judah Maccabee and many other alchemists performed within themselves. The way in which the books of the Maccabee are written narrate battles in the physical world, which usually are interpreted literally by learned ignoramuses. The enlightenment of the ten Sephiroth in us is acquired through the work of the Enneagram, through the Menorah, that when the letter Mem is taken from spells the word Norah נורה, which in Hebrew means “enlightened.” The word Norah, “enlightened,” from Menorah, reminds us of Buddha, the Enlighten One. And it is because this work that we are addressing—that is related to the nine lights of the Menorah and with the world of Eden עדן—relates to a higher work that Moses wrote about in the seventh day of Genesis, where he describes that Adam was made a living soul by collecting the dust from the Earth (which is precisely the point here).
We need to visualize what the Master Samael explained about this symbol, the symbol of the nine cellars that Enoch (or Methuselah, the son of Enoch) built in that mountain; the work that the Book of Genesis states at the seventh day where it is written:
“And Jehovah Elohim made Adam from the dust of the earth and Adam became a living soul.”
When everybody reads the former statement, about how Adam become a living soul, people immediately think that this is referring to all of us that inhabit the planet Earth. But, the truth is that this living soul, this Adam, is the outcome of a tremendous work of Alchemy; a psychological work that only the man of the sixth day can perform.
When we read the Book of Genesis, we read that Jehovah Elohim created Adam as male-female, in the sixth day of Genesis. But then, when we start reading the seventh day of Genesis, we read there that Jehovah Elohim made Adam (from the dust of the earth) a living soul. People think that these two Adams refer to the same being, but it is not the same. The Adam of the sixth day, in the first chapter of the Book of Genesis, is describing an alchemical work that the alchemist performs in order to reach what we call mastery. So, when the alchemist reaches Tiphereth, ascending from the very bottom of Malkuth, through Yesod, Hod, Netzach to Tiphereth, he does so because he created, through the sacred copulation, the Astral Solar Body, the Mental Solar Body and the Causal Solar Body. These three solar bodies gave unto this initiate the right to be called a Human Being or Adam of the sixth day of Genesis.
But there is something further in this explanation: the Adam of the sixth day of Genesis specified that God made him male-female. Alchemically, this refers to the two souls that every Monad has in the superior worlds; more specifically, we have to state that this relates to the incarnation of the two souls that abide within the Monad, in the superior worlds. The Monad is the Spirit and the Monad has two souls: one is masculine and the other is feminine, or, as the Book of Genesis states, male-female. So, when one reaches the level of Tiphereth, one then incarnates the male soul, called Human Soul. After that, the initiate has to descend into the Earth, in order to annihilate all the psychological aggregates, defects, vices and errors that he or she has in the subconsciousness, unconsciousness, infraconsciousness of Malkuth (which is, of course, the representation of the physical body). By annihilating the defects of the 96 laws, then the initiate, finally, has the right to incarnate his Spiritual Soul (which is feminine). By incarnating the Spiritual Soul (which is feminine), then, we find an incarnated Master in the physical world. That incarnated Master has two souls: one masculine and the other feminine. This is what the Master Samael Aun Weor called the incarnation of the Divine Soul, which occurs at the end of the First Mountain, after the annihilation of the ego. Of such an individual, we can say that we find a Human Being made into the image and likeness of God, male-female.
It is not like people think: that everybody in this physical world is made into the image and likeness of God; that is an alchemical statement that is a consequence of a lot of work; not only alchemical work, but psychological work. Then, when we become a Man of the Sixth Day (male-female) made into the likeness and image of God, then we enter into the step that we are explaining here with Enoch, or what in the traditional celebration of Judaism is called Hanukkah, which is the enlightenment of the whole Tree of Life within the initiate. For that, of course, the initiate of the Sixth Day, the Man of the Sixth Day, has to enter into the Second Mountain. It is in that mountain where the initiate performs all of this tasks and battles that are written in the books of Judah Maccabee, and that relates to the nine lights of the Hanukkah or the Menorah and the way in which the initiate has to purify the altar of God, which is Yesod, which is the sexual act, which relates to the sanctification of the Sabbath. The Sabbath, is the seventh day and it relates to the physicality, because we count downward from Chesed, which is the first day; Geburah, the second; Tiphereth, the third; Netzach, the fourth; Hod, the fifth; Yesod the sixth; and Malkuth, the seventh. This is the way in which the Ray of Creation descends through the seven bodies of the Being into Malkuth. That is why, when we talk about the seventh day, we address the physicality, the Sephirah Malkuth. When the Bible states that we have to sanctify the seventh day, that is a very profound psychological work.
We have to dig: we have to go inside the Earth (Malkuth) in order to extract all of the consciousness, all of the soul, all of the Twelve Tribes of Israel from within, and to purify them through the alchemical and psychological work in order for the nine lights of the Menorah to transform that initiate into a Living Soul; an initiate that is enlightened in all of the ten Sephiroth of the Tree of Life. Of course, this work is very serious; this is how the Man of the Seventh Day appears on the earth. This is what the Bible calls a Living Soul. This process implies the process of resurrection and we have to learn how to perform this resurrection; but no one resurrects if that one first does not become the Man of the Sixth Day and after that the Man of the Seventh Day of Genesis. Moses describes that very beautifully in the Book of Genesis, but people read it literally and they do not understand that these are alchemical statements that we have to learn and to study in order to understand the work of the Bible. That is why, in this lecture, we are addressing and studying the three mother letters, because each letter relates to one triangle of the Tree of Life: the letter Aleph represents the first triangle of the Tree of Life; the letter Shin represents the second triangle; and the letter Mem the third triangle. Each triangle contains three parts. So if you add the three part of each triangle with these three mother letters, then you find nine parts. These nine parts are related with the work of the Menorah, or the work of the Hanukkah, in which we have to receive enlightenment through the work of Alchemy and Kabbalah.
If you observe the graphic where we have the chart of all the letters of the Hebrew alphabet with their value, on top of this chart we find the sacred name of God, Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei יהוה that we speak about in many lectures. If you observe the letters, you will find that the letter Iod has the value of 10, Hei 5, Vav 6 and Hei, again, five. By making the addition of these values we have 26 and if we make the addition of 2 and 6, we have the number 8. The 2 serpents of the Caduceus of Mercury form the number 8, which is always the representation of the sign of the infinite. So, in other words, Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei is equal to the infinite. In the Three of Life, when we talk about the infinite, we also talk about Aleph and the spherical zero dimension.
“Zero has two uses, one as a number; symbol for the absolute, the nothingness, and other as a placeholder.” - Aryabhata
“The infinite is quantitative although necessarily spherical......Quantitative transforms itself into qualitative.” - Samael Aun Weor
Now, regarding the symbols of the Tree of Life, the manifested infinite is always related to Kether, who is a state of an eternal becoming. Ketheris the first Sephirah of the first triangle of the Tree of Life, Kether-Chokmah-Binah. But if we understand that this infinite emerges from another infinite, we can say that the Absolute Abstract Space is precisely that other infinite. This is why, when we explain the manifested name of God (יהוה), we always state that Iod is Kether, Hei is Chokmah and Vav is Binah, and the other Hei is the אין סוף Ain Soph or the Unmanifested Absolute Abstract Space, from where these 3 emanated. Before manifestation we find Kether, Chokmah, Binah, within the womb of theאין סוף Ain Soph, forming the unmanifested Tetragrammaton (יהוה); thus infinite is equal to infinite. This is how we have to see it in order to understand how the holy name (יהוה) is related to the whole universe and even to the Abstract Absolute Space; the letter Hei is the uterus that contains Aleph within itself and the three primary forces, represented by these three letters, Iod-Hei-Vav. This is why, when we address the manifested name of God, Iod-Havah or Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, kabbalistically speaking, we imagine the sign of the infinite, in order to comprehend it better, because all of the letters of יהוה are reduced to 8. Let us remember what Master Samael Aun Weor states:
“Mathematics created the universe and all the numbers are living entities.”
“Einstein, the famous author of the Theory of Relativity, conceived in his genius mind a curved, finite universe, enclosed like an egg. The tremendous exclamation of this extraordinary man still comes into our memory. He said, “The infinite tends to a limit.” - Samael aun Weor
Observe the other name that the Bible talks about, which is שדי – Shaddai, which is written with Shin-Daleth-Iod. Again, if we make the addition of these three letters—ש Shin (300), ד Dalet (4) and י Iod (10)—we make the addition of 8, the infinite. This שדי – Shaddai is the sexual force in Yesod, when we know how to transmute it. And, of course, שדי – Shaddai is always associated with Enoch, or better said, with Metatron. If we take the letters of Metatron מטטרון, Mem-Teth-Teth-Reish-Vav-Nun, and add together the value of each letter, you again have the number eight. So Metatron, the number 8, is equal to שדי – Shaddai and equal to יהוה Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, the infinite. With this we have to understand that the work that we are pointing to here with Metatron has to be performed in Yesod, because שדי – Shaddai is the holy name of God in Yesod; it also has to be performed with the first triangle and with the Absolute, because יהוה Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei relates to the first triangle of the Tree of Life and the Absolute, which is 8, the infinite.
This is precisely the Great Work that initiates that reach the level of the Sixth Day of Genesis have to perform, in the Second Mountain. Of course this is a marvelous alchemical work that we have to comprehend and understand, in order to no fall into confusion, holding the belief that the people that exist in this physical world are made into the image of God; those same people who also believe themselves to be Living Souls. This, of course, is not true, because it is very rare to find a Man of the Sixth Day who has incarnated the Human Soul and the Spiritual Soul; it is even more difficult to find a Man of the Seventh Day. In order to perform that work of the seventh day, one needs to create ones own individual, particular Moses. That Moses represents the Causal Body, the Body of Willpower that relates to Tiphereth. That is why, when Moses reaches the level of Tiphereth, he already had within himself the Human Soul and the Divine Soul; he has just performed one great work and was ready to start another work, that work the Bible calls Exodus.
But before performing that, let us study what the Bible states in Exodus 3: 2:
“And [חנוך Enoch or מטטרון Metatron] the angel of יהוה appeared unto him [Moses] in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, Behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.”
This is the first statement of Exodus when Moses is before Metatron, the Angel of Kether, the Angel of Iod (the first letter of the holy name of God). It is written that Iod-Havah (or, better said, Metatron) said unto Moses:
“What is that in thine (יד-Yad) hand? And he said, A rod (מטה Matah in Hebrew). And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it (the מטה Matah) became a serpent; and Moses sees the Vav and Iod (וי) magic (נס nas in Hebrew) from before it. And יהוה Jehovah said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it (the serpent), and it became a rod in his hand.” - Exodus 4: 2-4
Behold: the alchemical mystery of the serpent transformed into a rod is related with the letter Iod יוד. Remember that in previous lectures we said that the letter Vav ו symbolizes a rod or our spinal medulla. In Hebrew Yad יד means “hand,” and Iod יוד, Iod-Vav-Daleth is how you spell the letter Iod י. So to “put forth your hand, and take the serpent by the tail,” is to work with your sense of touch, hand; in other words, to take the letter Vav ו with your Yad יד (hand), is to work with the letter Iod יוד, or shakti potential of Yesod יסוד (sex), the tail of the serpent; the letters Nun and Samech of (Nes נס, “magic, miracle”), represent the spermatozoide and ovum respectively. This is why Master Samael Aun Weor states that Metatron, or Enoch, is the Lord of the Wisdom of the Serpent. This serpent is precisely what Moses is seeing, whenthe serpent became a rod and then the rodback to a serpent. After that, in chapter 6, Metatron said to Moses:
“And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of El-אל-God, Shaddai-שדי-Genie, but by my name Jehovah יהוה was I not known to them.” – Exodus 6: 3
When people read this literally, they do not understand that in the world of Atziluth, the World of Emanations, there are many angels that together form that force-unity that we call Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei Elohim, the sacred name of God. Each one of those represents that force; but the highest of all of them is Metatron. That is why Metatron is equal to 8, and that is why Metatron is the force that descends into Yesod as Shaddai, in order to work with the alchemist... Shaddai is equal to 8 (infinity) as well. This is an alchemical work; all of us have to work at that level. It is not a matter of believing in one God, but understanding the perfect multiple unity of that force that we call Elohim or Gods and Goddesses, because Elohim has no form, it is co-essential with the Abstract Absolute Space and expresses itself through its angels. In this case, the initiate that reaches that level of Moses can talk with the first representative of that force or the Iod of Atziluth, which is Metatron; he is the one that guide him internally, in order to perform the work that we have to perform.
Metatron also represents an archetype within each one of us that we have to develop. This is what we have to understand too: Metatron was incarnated as an Angel, as a great Master, with the name Enoch when he was alive; but in each one of us is that archetype that we have to work with. But, in order to work with him, we have to reach the level of the Man made into the image and likeness of God, because he is the one that guides us through the work of the seventh day of Genesis, which is the purification of all the archetypes of Israel in each one of us. That is why we read in Exodus 23 how the force of Atziluth, or Kether talked to Moses and said:
“Behold, I send my Angel [מטטרון Metatron] before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name [יהוה] is in him. But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. For mine Angel [מטטרון Metatron] shall go before thee.” – Exodus 23: 20-23
“For mine Angel [מטטרון Metatron] shall go before thee.” It is very clear that Lephanic לפניך, refers to the face of Moses. It is not talking about, as people think, all the congregation of people that believe in one God: Lephanic לפניך is addressing the alchemist that is doing that work within him/herself. In this case it is Moses, this is why he is saying “before thee,” not “before ye.” Although when we address the archetypes of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, all of these parts of Israel are psychological parts of Moses, that is, parts of the initiate that Moses represents. All of them make one Elohim, because at the end we read Jehovah יהוה is One; One in the initiate that performs that unity with a lot of psychological work. Because right now, in the way that we are, we are not one, we are many; that is why we are in confusion. To unify all the parts of the Being (that we call Israel) is a great task that only the archetype named Moses can perform in us. But Moses has to be under the guidance of the world of Aziluth, the head of which is Metatron, and this is what we have to understand.
For instance, if you see in the graphic of the worlds here, in which we find again the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, we write the words Ain Soph Aur; we wrote that in order to point towards the fact that the whole work that we are performing here is a work with the Light, that in Hebrew is spelled Aleph-Vav-Resh, Aur. Ain Soph means “limitless,” thus, together, Ain Soph Aur is, “The Limitless Light.” The point here is that when you write the word Aur, which means “light,” and you add the letter Iod (which is the Shakti potential of the Light form the Absolute) after the letter Vav, and then you read the word, Avir אויר. This word reminds us the word air in English, and what is interesting is that Aleph-Vav-Iod-Resh, Avir, means “air, atmosphere, breath.” That is why we always associate the light with the air. When you see the atmosphere of the planet, we know that we have the element air, but also you find that the atmosphere is that part of the Earth that transforms the rays of the sun, the stars and the planets into light. That is why Avirאויר in Hebrew is spelled in that way, and is associated with the letter Aleph, which is the symbol of air in Kabbalah; the symbol of the wind, the symbol of the Ancient of Days.
Here we see a beautifuldepiction of the Ancient of Days by William Blake, where he is putting his arm down in order to create. Arm in Hebrew is Yad יד and hand in Hebrew is Yad יד. So, in that pose, William Blake is showing us that the whole universe exists because the Iod, the arm, or the hand of God, which is the same letter Iod of the holy name יהוה.
That is why, when we investigate the letter Aleph, we discover that this letter has two Iods, cut by a transversal Vav—which, indeed, is another Iod, because when you extend or stretch the letter Iod downward, you form the letter Vav ו; and, if you stretch it more, then you make the letter Nun final ן. That is why when people read Hebrew letters, they sometimes think that the letter Nun-final ן is the letter Vav ו, because they are similar; but, the letter Nun final is a little bit longer than the letter Vav. Regardless, both of them are just extensions of the letter Iod; that is why the letter Aleph, in synthesis, is formed by three Iods: one Iod above, one Iod below, and the Vav between, an extended Iod.
Observe the Shape of the letter Aleph א: you will find that this letter, which is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, is equal to 8, infinity. You will ask “why?” Well, if you add together the two Iods, you have 10 + 10 = 20. When you then add the value of the letter Vav (6), then you find that the value is 26 and 2 + 6 = 8. That is why the letter Aleph is in the three names that relate to the Absolute: Ain, Ain Soph and Ain Soph Aur.
So, the letter Aleph is not there by coincidence: it is because that letter contains the three primary forces in itself. Aleph showsus how we have to enlighten the whole universe with the power of the letter Iod, by working with that Aleph, which is the letter that represents the first triangle of the Tree of Life and that is also hidden within the Abstract Absolute Space, within the אין Ain.
Observe the word אין Ain, it is formed by Aleph-Iod-final Nun. This word Ain contains five Iods: the three of the letter Aleph, the letter Iod itself, and the stretched Iod of final Nun. This is something that we call the Pentagrammaton or the Five-Pointed Star that hides the power of the Tetragrammaton. Is this not beautiful? This is how you study the three mother letters in relation with the work of Enoch or the work of the seventh day.
That is why, if you observe the Tree of Life in that graphic, you see that the letter Iod is on top of the three Sephiroth of the first triangle, Kether-Chokmah-Binah, which form three flames, three lights of the Menorah. Below the letter Aleph, we find the letter Shin. If you observe the letter Shin (fire), you will see how it contains in itself three Iods, or flames, on top of it. That is why the word fire in Hebrew is Esh אש, Aleph-Shin. If you add all of the flames, the Iods of these two letters of the word Esh, you find six Iods, six lights of the Menorah. The letter Shin in itself also represents three nails; these are the three nails that are represented in the crucifixion of Christ, because the letter Shin is the letter that represents Chokmah. Chokmah is that fire that descends from Atziluth in order to perform the work that we are explaining here.
That is why, in Kabbalah and Alchemy, when addressing Master יהשוה Yeshuah, Jesus, we observe that if you add the letter ש Shin in the middle of the word then you spell the name of יהשוה Yeshuah. Thus, in order to perform the work of infinity, which is the number eight of the holy name, you have to work with fire, with the letter Shin, which is fire. That is why the letter Shin represents the Savior; in other words, the Savior is not a person, but the fire. That is why that fire is represented on top of the cross of the crucified, with the word INRI. In previous lectures we explained that this word INRI is hidden within the name of Sarai שרי, the wife of Abraham. We explained that the name Sarai begins with the letter Shin. Sarai is written with Shin-Resh-Iod שרי; this is a Hebrew mantra that hides mysteries of fire that the initiate has to work with.
Let us keep studying this letter Shin and the crucifixion. We understand that Christ was crucified and nail to the cross with three nails: a nail in each hand and one at the bottom, that nailed the two feet together. Why? Because the nail in the feet represents the two polarities, male-female, in the physical world, that perform the sexual act. So, these three nails represent the way in which we purify ourselves, through the work with the fire, with the three nails of the letter Shin. That is why, when you see the crucifix, the crucified man, the man represents the letter Shin. When you observe the head and the two hands extended upward in the crucifixion, you visualize the letter Shin (fire). That is why we find INRI, “the fire renews nature constantly” (Ignis Natura Renovatur Integra) above the cross.
The cross, as you see, represents the four rivers of Eden עדן, the man and the woman in the sexual act. The vertical beam of the cross represents the river Pison and Gihon, while the rivers that represents the woman, the horizontal beam, are Hiddekel and Euphrates. When these four rivers are crossed, then we find the cross in which the fire is crucified. This is how Christ performs the work in the couple, the work with the sacred copulation, by transmuting the fire that has to rise from their sexual waters.
Iod: eternal masculine principle Hei: eternal feminine principle Vav: phallic masculine principle; the lingam Hei: feminine principle; the uterus, the yoni.
Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei יהוה is reduced to Ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss." - Tarot and Kabbalah by Samael Aun Weor
Thus, this is why, during that sexual union, the couple has to pronounce the sound of Fire, the letter Shin (“ש SSSSSSS”).
“"The letter “S” must be pronounced like a very fine and affable whistle. We must bring the teeth (שין Shin in Hebrew) together in order to make a fine and delicate whistle. We must use this subtle voice; the yogi must learn how to intone and modulate... The letter “S” transmutes the seminal liquor into the sacred fire of Kundalini when it is pronounced as a very fine whistle, as follows: Ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss." - The Yellow Book by Samael Aun Weor
The letterShin (שין teeth in Hebrew) contains within the spelling of it three letters, namely, ש Shin-300 plus י Iod-10 plus ן Nun-final-50 = 351 = 9, thus שין-Shin, the symbol of fire relate to the nine lights of the Menorah.
So, this is why you have to pronounce the spelling, that is, the sound of the letters Shin, Iod and final-Nun. Thus, after pronouncing the sound of the letter Shin (“ש SSSSSSS”), you pronounce the mantra “ין IIIIIIIIINNNNNNN”.” By pronouncing the mantra (ין IN), you are placing the Shakti potential of the sexual force in the pituitary and pineal glands, in Kether, the crown, the chakra Ajna and Sahasrara, the crown chakra of Kether. This is how you enlighten your own particular Crown. After, you visualize all that fire, or that light, in your head. Remember, your head is represented by the letter Resh רֹ. That is why the word head, in Hebrew, is רֹאשׁ Rosh. So, you have to pronounce the letter Resh רֹ and the letter Iod י again; remember that we are talking about the name Sarai שרי. So, first we vocalize the three letters of the word שין Shin (“ש SSSSSSS”) then “ין IIIIIIIIINNNNNNN” and, finally, you seal it with the pronunciation of the “R” (ר Resh) and “I” (י Iod) of Sarai שרי: “RRRRRRRIIIIIIIII.” That is the mantra of the fire; as you see, Sarai שרי is hidden in INRI, which is on the top of the cross of the crucified one, because the three Iods of the letter ש Shin represents the head and the two extended hands of the body of יהשוה Yeshuah, Jesus, because Jesus is ש Shin, fire, not a person. Jesus, the savior, is the fire produced by the union of the two beams of the cross.
After that, you place on top of the cross (which means on top of your head) the vibration of that fire, which is the Shakti potential, which is the Iod: “IIIIIIIIINNNNNNN.” Remember that the Shakti potential of the letter Iod is the letter Nun, (“fish” in Aramaic), which symbolizes the sperm and the ovum. So, after that is placed in your head, you pronounce: “RRRRRRRIIIIIIIII.” This is how you establish the Shakti potential of your sexual force in your head, by transmuting the fire. This is the mystery of the name of Sarai שרי, the wife of Abraham. Abraham is, of course, the Sephirah Chesed, your Innermost, your Inner Spirit. You have to pronounce that mantra in order to enter into the initiation. That is fire, the letter ש Shin.
The letter Mem מ, which is at the very bottom of the Tree of Life, the third triangle, represents water. That is why in order to write the word water in Hebrew (Mayim מים), you write it with two Mems. The letter Mem has one ordinary Mem מ, and the second Mem is called final-Mem ם. If you place between those two Mems the letter Iod, then you spell “water” in Hebrew, Mayim מים. If you observe the word Mayim מים, you will see that the two Mem מם contain the letter Iod on top of them; together with the other letter י Iod, in between those two Mems, they form the three Iods of the third triangle of the Tree of Life. If we make the addition of the three Iods of the letter Aleph, the three Iods of the letter Shin plus the Iods of Mayim מים, the letter Mem of the third triangle, then you find the nine lights of the Menorah, which are related with the three triangles of the Tree of Life that are enlightened with the oil of the Earth, that we transmute; or, as the Book of Genesis says in the seventh day: by gathering all the dust of the earth and making Adam a Living Soul. That is the meaning of the three mother letters in the Hebrew alphabet; this is how we understand how the nine lights of the Menorah are enlightened, when we work with the three mother letters, at the level of the Man of the Sixth Day.
Master Samael Aun Weor verifies this in this book Tarot and Kabbalah, when he explains the letter Aleph. Regarding this, he said:
“In the world of Kether we comprehend that the great law controls all that is created. From the world of the Elder of the Days, we see the human multitudes as leaves hurled by the wind. The Great Wind is the terrible law of the Ancient of Days. “Vox Populi Vox Dei.” A social revolt contemplated from the world of the Ancient of Days is a law in action. Each person, the entire multitudes, look like leaves detached from the trees, hurled by the terrible wind of the Ancient of Days. People do not know about these things. People are only preoccupied by acquiring money and more money. This is the poor, suffering humanity, who are only miserable leaves hurled by the great wind, miserable leaves hurled by the great law. Our authentic Being in his essential root is the Ancient of Days. He is the Father in us. He is our true Being. Our disciples must know how to concentrate and meditate very deeply on the Ancient of Days. The ecstasy, Samadhi, must be induced during meditation. May peace reign in all hearts; let us not forget that peace is light. Let us not forget that peace is an essence emanated from the Absolute. It is light emanated from the Absolute. This light is the light of the Ancient of Days. Christ said: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.” John 14:27” – Samael Aun Weor
So, behold there how the Ancient of Days is represented on top of the world of Atziluth and holding in his hand the measurement in order to perform work in the world of Briah, which is the World of Creation; and doing all the work that we are explaining here. That is why the hair of the Ancient of Days is blown by the wind, because he himself is the Wind, the letter Aleph. This is how great initiates have represented the letter Aleph and how the Master Samael explains it.
Master Samael also explains the letter Shin, in the same book of Tarot and Kabbalah:
“The Sephirah Chokmah of the Hebraic Kabbalah is the Cosmic Christ, the Christus. He is Vishnu among the Hindus. The Second Logos, Chokmah, is love, the Agnus Dei, the immolated Lamb; it is the fire [Esh אש] that burns since the beginning of the world, in all of creation [the world of Briah], for our salvation. Chokmah is fire and underlies the depth of all organic and inorganic matter. Solar energy is Astral Light. Its essence is the Christonic power which is enclosed in the fertile pollen of the flower, enclosed within the heart of the fruit of the tree, enclosed within the internal secretion glands of the animal and the human being. The principal seat of this essence within the human being is in the coccyx. The Aztecs denominated this sacred power as the feathered serpent Quetzalcoatl that only awakes and ascends up to our pineal gland by means of amorous magic. Christ is the same wisdom, the Solar Logos, whose physical body is the sun. Christ walks with his sun just in the same way that the human soul walks with its body of flesh and bones. Christ is the light of the sun. The light of the sun is the light of Christ.” – Samael Aun Weor
And the Bible states: “I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” – John 8: 12.
Of course, this is the Cosmic Christ talking through the lips of Master Jesus, and through the lips of any Master that performs the work that we are explaining here, enlightening the Menorah with the solar light through sexual alchemy.
Now, in regards to the third triangle, the Master Samael states:
“Binah, the Holy Spirit, the Third Logos has its center of gravity in Yesod. It is from within the sexual force that life emerges, where the physical body emerges, where all living organisms emerge. Since we are the children of a man and a woman, not even Malkuth [our physicality] could exist without the presence of sex. Therefore, Yesod is the foundation of the Third Logos [Holy Spirit]; Yesod is the center where the sexual force of the Third Logos gravitates. There are two trees in Eden עדן: the Tree of the Science of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life. The Tree of the Science of Good and Evil is sex, and this Tree of Knowledge is represented by the sexual organs. The Tree of Life is the Being, and in our physical body this tree is represented by the spinal column. Every true cultural doctrine has to study, in detail, these two trees, because the study of one tree without the study of the other gives incomplete and useless knowledge. For what purpose do we study the Being if we do not know about sex? Both Trees are from Eden עדן and even share the same roots. These are the two main great columns of the White Lodge: wisdom and love. Wisdom is the Tree of the Science of Good and Evil, and love is the Tree of Life.” – Samael Aun Weor
This is how Master Samael explains these three mother letters, related with the three primary forces of the Tree of Life that control the three triangles of the Tree of Life.
With this base, we can understand the Bible. Remember: if we do not know Alchemy and Kabbalah, we do not understand the Bible... any book of the Bible, including the Book of the Maccabees (that of course is not in the modern Bible).
Now, let us enter into the study of other parts of the Zohar, in order for us to see how everything is hidden in the Bible:
“It is written: “And when Abram was ninety and nine years old [9 + 9 = 18; 1 + 8 = 9 - Yesod-Sex], יהוה appeared to Abram אברם, and said unto him, ‘I am the Almighty God [אני אל שדי, Ani El Shaddai]; walk before me, and be thou perfect.’” Genesis 17: 1
This verse needs a kabbalistic, critical examination, as it abounds with several difficulties that require explanation. It may be asked, “Had not the Holy One appeared unto Abraham before attaining unto this age?” This indeed might be inferred from the words of this verse. In previous accounts of the divine manifestations no mention whatsoever is made of Abraham's age; it is simply said, “the Lord said unto Abraham.” - Zohar
If we study just the age 99, we discover that it is not related to physical age, but to alchemical, initiatic ages. When the initiate penetrates into these mysteries, the first levels they enter into are the nine initiations of Minor Mysteries. These nine initiations of the Minor Mysteries relate to the ages of 10 to 90, esoterically speaking. Each initiation of the Minor Mysteries is 10 years. So, when you reach the age of 90, esoterically speaking, you are internally ready to enter into the Major Mysteries. That is why it is stated that when Abraham was 99 years old, Iod-Havah appeared unto him. But, it stated in that way in order to show that 9 + 9 = 18 and 1 + 8 = 9. In other words, this symbol relates to the mysteries of the Ninth Sphere, which is Yesod. It means that that initiate, who is already ‘99 years old,’ is ready to enter into the Major Mysteries. If you do not know Kabbalah and Alchemy, you might think: “Oh, the initiate is already very old, 99 years old physically speaking.” No, that is ludicrous, the initiate could be 20 or 25 or 30 or 40 years old, and internally is already 99, because they are ready to enter into the higher mysteries.
“Another difficult question is: how was it that before Abraham had reached this age, nowhere does the scripture state that the Lord appeared unto him? It was because that up until that time, [the physical body of] he [the Innermost] was uncircumcised [that is, he, the Innermost, was not transmuting the sexual force, the Iod of Yesod], and it was only after he had performed the rite [of sexual transmutation] the Holy One revealed himself in a way and manner he had never done before, and therefore scripture states, 'And יהוה appeared unto him.' [because that Iod-Havah, that sexual force of Yesod, awakens in the spinal medulla in the initiate, represented by Abraham]. But why did יהוה appear and manifest himself to Abraham on this particular occasion? Because he wished to make known unto him the relation existing between the sign of the covenant and that most sublime degree of elevation in the divine life, termed the "Holy Crown" [which relates to the letter Iod]. Moreover, the Holy One intended that from Abraham [the Innermost] should proceed a people and nation wholly sanctified unto himself [initiates that will follow the sacred doctrine]; it was essential that he himself should first become such [because he did not acquire sanctity before], which did not occur until he had attained to the age of ninety-nine years [9 + 9 = 18; 1 + 8 = 9 - Yesod-Sex].” - Zohar
It is easy to understand that plants, animals, minerals and humanoids have a Monad. Everybody, as Buddhism states, has the Buddhadhatu, that Buddha-essence inside. That Buddha-essence is the Innermost in everybody. But, in order for us to develop that Buddha-essence (Buddhadhatu), Abraham, (the Innermost, Chesed) has to work in the mysteries that we learn, if we reach that age of 99.
If you observe the Monad of any animal, you will understand that the Monad of any animal fornicates. Any animal is irrational; it does not know anything about the Law, therefore it is not guilty of such an action. And, this is what continues happening when one enters into the level of humanoid or intellectual animal. We still are animals: if you observe people, they fornicate, they do not know anything about the sacred copulation, they had to learn that and they learn that as an animal. Any person that comes into our studies is a fornicator, because such a person is an intellectual animal. But, by reaching that age of 99, then, the Lord appears in the internal planes to that soul, to that Monad, and says: “now, you are going to enter into these mysteries and to know really about me”; and the initiate then start transmuting the sexual energy and becoming a follower of the infinite, the sacred name Iod-Havah. The Zohar continues and states:
“Another reason why scripture states this age of Abraham is, that until he had attained there unto, his years [upon the Tree of Life] were not reckoned or taken any account of and only began to be so when he became circumcised [transmuting the sexual force of Yesod – to cut the flesh of the animality means to stop reaching the spasm or the orgasm in the sexual act as any animal does] at this advanced age. When יהוה appeared unto him and said: 'I am the Almighty God [אני אל שדי Ani El Shaddai].' Why up to this time had he not appeared unto him and announced himself by this name? Respecting this question, tradition informs us that at the creation of the world, יהוה made higher and lower spheres, some of the latter [Yesod-Sex specifically] of which were void of holiness and spiritual life, such as the world [or kingdom] of [animal] elementals who are able to influence those in this earth who are uncircumcised [fornicators] and who become impressed with their mark, the letters ש and ד denoting they are soiled and subject to the influence of the evil one [Shed שד, “demon”, “goblin” and all of those elementals that are fornicators, they are just victims of the sexual force]. But as soon as men are [practicing chastity, meaning:] circumcised, they become freed from the influence of the elementals and live under the wings or protection of the שכינה Schekinah [the Iod or Shakti potential of Kether, the Holy Crown]. It is then that the Iod י, symbol of the sign of the Covenant, becomes impressed upon them and they [the Alchemists] bear on them the full-divine name Shaddai שדי [so, when you add the letter Iod to the word Shed שד, then you reach Shaddai]. When this occurred in the case of Abraham, then, as stated, יהוה appeared unto him and said unto him, ‘I am the Almighty God [אני אל שדי - Ani El Shaddai]' - 'walk thou before me and be thou perfect' [תמים thanaim], which word signifies [that the Iod is] full and complete [between husband and wife, represented by the two Mems or sexual waters, united by the letter Tav or Cross]. – Zohar
Anyone that is not following chastity, the path of Alchemy, is ruled by Shed שד. Shed, of course is the sexual force among animals; Shaddai שדיis the sexual force among alchemists, those who are performing the sexual act through transmutation, Tantra, Sexual Alchemy.
In Proverbs 21: 7, we read: “The fiend (Shed שד) in the wicked will drive them away, because they refuse to do what is right.”
“In other words, he said, until l now the mark [שד] thou hast borne is incomplete, being composed only of the letters ש and ד. Circumcise [sublimate the Shakti potential of your sexual force] now thyself [thy own י Iod or essence or semen, seed in Yesod], then wilt thou bear my full and complete name [שדי] Shaddai, for whoever bears it is blessed, as it is written: And God Almighty [ואל שדי VaElShadai] bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people.” (Genesis 28: 3)
That is a statement that we have to perform inside: it does not mean that you have to create many children in the physical world. To be fruitful and multiply means to multiply that light of the letter Iod within, in order to enlighten the Menorah within you. Those ‘children’ are all those archetypes which multiply within you, which are the virtues that the alchemist acquires through chastity. This is what it is to “be fruitful and multiply,” alchemically speaking. The Zohar continues:
“It is from him [El-Shaddai אל שדי] that all blessings come. He [El-Shaddai אל שדי] is who rules the inferior worlds that tremble and fear before him, so that they are unable to exercise any influence over those who bear [the Iod or Shakti potential of the fire from Yesod] on them [better said, on their pineal gland] the full [fiery] sign of the covenant, who will never descend or fall [headlong] into Gehenna [Hell], as it is written: And thy people [in Tiphereth: Israel, Jacob] also shall be all righteous [chaste]. They [the alchemists, in Tiphereth] shall inherit the land [Malkuth] for ever, [as it is described in the Book of Genesis, meaning that Jehovah Elohim should make Adam from the dust of the earth and make him a Living Soul] the branch of my planting, the work of my [left and right] hands [ידי – man and woman], to show [Lah Tiphereth לה-תפארת] her splendor.” (Isaiah 60: 21).
The Zohar states:
"When the Iod (י) is united with teeth (Shin שן) they form a celestial river, as it is written, 'And a river went out of Eden to water the garden'
“What [Mah מה, “what” in Hebrew] is truly so, but what tradition teaches us respecting this, is, when the [hand] Yad יד (of Maqom [the Space] that represents the Ancient of Days painted by William Blake) is united with teeth (Shin שן) [when the Shakti potential of the first triangle is united with the second triangle, through initiation, when the Yad יד is united with teeth, Shin שין] they [the י Iod plus Daleth ד of Yad יד-hand, as well as, the י Iod plus the top of the letters ש Shin and ן Nun of Shin שן] form [the five Iods of] the celestial river” as it is written in the Zohar.
It is written in the Book of Genesis:
“And [from Atziluth to Daath, the Shakti potential of “Maqom” מקום, or the letter Iod י, elongated as] a river [with the shape of the letter final-Nun ן, which as the right arm, “Yad” of Maqom] went out of [the word עדן] Eden [carrying the letter Iod י into Yesod יסוד, in order] to water the garden [Malkuth, our physicality]; and from thence [from the river in the garden of Eden עדן, that in us became the Mem מ, the Iod י and the final-Nun ן of Min מין, “sex”] it [the Shakti potential of Maqom, that is, the Iod י in Shaddai שדי and in Yesod יסוד, became the Nun נ, the fish, the seed, the sperm, of Abraham that] was parted [circumcised, or decapitated in order for the Shakti potential, the Iod י, to ascend as final-Nun ן from Mem מ, the creative waters of Yesod] and became into four heads [or Iods. Thus, the four Iods formed the top of the letter Shin and Nun which with the Iod spelled Shin שין, the letter ש (that also means “teeth”) symbolizes the Patriarchs; these three letters also spell Neshi נשי which means wives, the Matriarchs].” (Genesis 2: 10)
The Zohar continues:
Let no one, however, object and say, 'when they are united’ [when Iod is united with teeth (Shin שן) – meaning when the letter Iod י of Atziluth is united with the letter Shin ש of the world of Briah], as though it was something impossible and absurd [because this is Iod-Havah Neshi יהוה נסי; a marvel made thanks to the Nun, the arm of Maqom, in Yesod יסוד – if you take the letter Samech out of Yesod, then you read Iod – so, Yesod is the same Iod]; for they [the five Iods of Shin שין form the Yad יד arm of Maqom, the celestial river that] most certainly become [Neshi נשי, his wives in Malkuth].
Thus saith the Lord Iod-Havah אדני יהוה [in Malkuth], Behold, I lift up unto the nations, my hand [Yad יד], and unto the Aryan crowds I set up נסי my marvel, magic: and they shall bring thy sons [the Iods of Shin שין] in their bosom, and thy daughters [their Neshi נשי, their wives] shall be carried [them] upon their shoulders. (Isaiah 49: 22)”
This is how you understand. And the Zohar states:
“And after this manner scripture uses the expression 'ben horin,' and such also is the meaning of the words: Blessed art thou, O land [Neshi נשי, Malkuth, the wife], when thy king [Tiphereth] is the son of – חורין Horin – freemen [the three archetypes which are in the second triangle of the Tree of Life, the Patriarchs], and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for feasting! (Ecclesiastes 10: 17)
To eat in due season means to know how to transmute the sexual energy, not to be a fornicator. The preceding verse runs thus:
“Woe to thee, O land [Malkuth], when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning!” - Ecclesiastes 10: 16
This refers to [Malkuth and Klipoth] the world below, for we learn by tradition that all lands inhabited by idolatrous [better said, fornicator] nations and people are under the rule of great chiefs [Malakim מלכים] who themselves are governed and controlled by [king Metatron מטטרון מלאך] one to whom scripture refers, as saying: Young I have been, I have also become old, And I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. (Psalm 37: 25)” – Zohar
That means that this great king, Metatron (that rules the Tree of Life and also rules all the angels that control the animal kingdom), during his time, observing the intellectual animals (that call themselves man made into the image of God, erroneously), [never saw] any one of them begging bread of wisdom [transmuting the sexual energy]. They were just talk about that, believe in that, but in the moment when they should sanctify the Sabbath by transmuting the sexual energy, they spilled the seed like any animal; in other words, they continued in the animal kingdom and they never reach the 99 years old of Abraham in order to penetrate into the mysteries of the Tree of Life. That is why, Gnostics state:
“The immortal Gods nourish themselves with the Manna מן of the desert.”
The Manna מן of the desert is Min מין; place the Iod between Mem and the Nun that represents the water and the fish, the seed in the sexual creative energy, respetively and then you will find the word Min מין, “sex.” Take that Iod, transmute it, and then you will find the Manna מן of the desert that fed the Israelites (the archetypes) in the wilderness (Tiphereth). In Tiphereth is where we gather all the light of the sun. This is what this mystery of Eden עדן and the Menorah explains to us. Now, you can ask your questions.
Questions and Answers
Student: So, in another lecture [on the secret enemies] there is a diagram of the Tree of Life. So, you have Aleph, Shin and Mem going down the center of the Tree of Life; usually it has a bull between Binah and Geburah, which is the earth, and then the eagle, which is the air (going between Tiphereth and Kether), and then the lion, the fire, between Chokmah and Chesed; and the angel, the water, which is standing between Yesod and Malkuth. So, is there is a way to resolve those two? Do they represent the same elemental forces?
Instructor: Yes. Those holy animals are called in Hebrew, Chaioth Ha-Kadosh, “the holy animals.” They represent the four rivers of Eden עדן. When you enter into this studies, these four forces of Atziluth of Kether descend in different aspects, in different levels, as you are describing: the lion (which symbolizes the fire), the eagle (which symbolizes the air), the man (which symbolizes the water) and the bull (that represents the earth) are the four elements, when you reach the top in the ascension of the Man as a Living Soul. You have to work with these four elements always, but when somebody reaches the very top of Kether and achievesthe illumination of all the Iods of the first triangle, that particular initiate is that angel that emerged from Yesod. The angel always emerges from sex (that is why he represents the waters – Yesod), and reaching the top he controls not only the water, but also the fire, the air and the earth (in himself). That is why he reached the level of Chaioth Ha-Kadosh. At that level of Chaioth Ha-Kadosh, he is willingly to resurrect – has to pass through another process of resurrection. This is why at the very ending of the Invocation of Solomon we say: “Chaioth Ha-Kadosh, cry, speak, roar, bellow!” In order for us to be at that level and to say: “Holy Creatures, cry, speak, roar, bellow! Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh!” the three Kadosh are the three mother letters, the three primary forces; when you sanctify them, when you purify them, you control the whole Tree of Life, at that level. In the very beginning, we begin here: the bull (Malkuth), the water, (the human being that is still not in chastity, is abusing the sexual force of the water), the lion (the emotional center) and the mind (the eagle). The beginner is still a slave of these forces in the very bottom, right? As you can see there, the position of those animals are in different levels, according to our level. Right now, the bull (which is Malkuth in us) is furious. We have to work very hard in order to reach the higher level of those creatures, which represent the four elements. This is precisely what the Bible teaches: how to battle against your own ego.
When you read the book of Maccabee, for instance, you find that his name is Judah; but in order to be a Judah, you have to be a Man of the Sixth Day (made into the image and likeness of God). As that, you enter as Judah Maccabee, winning battle after battle inside of you. It is not something that occurs mechanically as many people think; behind the narration of that book is a message for the alchemist: this is what you have to do when you reach this level.
Student: So, could you say … as the falling Malkuth, [you traced that animal generation] ... So, you are transmuting that bull to a higher level?
Instructor: You are transforming that bull into an ox. You know what an ox is, right? A bull without testicles, a tamed bull, this is what an ox is. So, obviously, when you enter here, that is the meaning of circumcision, you have to “cut your sex,” meaning you have to stop fornicating. This is precisely the problem of those people that read literally: many people in Asia, in order to enter this, they cut their genitalia themselves, and that is stupid, because they do not understand what is written there. In order to enter into initiation you have to be circumcised, but it does not mean that you have to cut the prepuce of your penis. If you do that, it is your business, but the meaning of that is to enter into chastity, to cut the flesh of the animal sensation. There are many people that have the circumcision (physically) and they are terrible fornicators. This is what we have to understand: in the beginning you are like a bull, you have to become like an ox. Transmute your sexual energy (the bull) and this is how you advance. Of course, for that you need the assistance of force (willpower, thelema). You have another question?
Student: So, when Abraham reaches 99 years, it is related to Yesod. Is that also related to fight against occult enemies of the Arcanum 18?
Instructor: Yes, of course, that is obvious; because 9 + 9 is 18 and 18 is “occult enemies.” That means that when you are entering the age of 99, you have to fight against your animals. By patiently working against those animals, which are related with Malkuth, you enter into the initiation. How are you going to enter into the Major Initiations if every time that you try to transmute your sexual energy you fornicate? It is impossible. You may be stagnant there, in the Nine Initiations of Minor Mysteries, but never advance, because you need to defeat your enemies. This is precisely what you find represented in the heroes of many religions: they go and take the sword and kill all their enemies. That sword is the spinal fire that you have to develop, and your enemies are your egos (enemies of your own religion, “re-ligare”: the reunion with your Spirit). Therefore, you have to be pitiless against yourself and kill one after the other. When people read that literally, they just perform that fanatically and they think that everybody has to believe in something. Thus, they are killing other people (physically speaking) without performing the work in themselves. That is sad. It is because they interpret the scriptures in the wrong way.
For instance, if you talk with many people that study religion, they think that to be a Man of the Seventh Day, a living soul, is to be physically alive, and they say “We are living souls. We are that Man of the Seventh Day.” And they are not even the shadow of the Man of the Sixth Day, let alone a Man of the Seventh Day. Indeed, to find a Man of the Sixth Day made into the image and likeness of God is very difficult. You can have your Astral, Mental and Causal Bodies built, but that does not mean that you are made in the image and likeness of God; for that you have to annihilate your enemies (the kabbalistic 18) in Malkuth. Remember that it is stated that the Man of the Sixth Day was male-female. It does not state that it was male, but male-female. When a male or female person reaches the creation of their Causal Body, then they incarnate their Human Soul, which is masculine. Then, they have to work against their inner enemies very strongly. And one day, if they annihilate just the egos of Malkuth (we are not even talking about the other egos of other spheres, just those of Malkuth), then the female soul, which is the Spiritual Soul, which is feminine, incarnates in him or in her. Then they become a Human Being of the Sixth Day. This means that after, such a Man of the Sixth Day, has to work harder and harder in order to become a נפש חיה Nephesh Chaiah, a Living Soul. That is precisely what the Books of Genesis explains in the seventh day, that יהוה אלהים Jehovah Elohim, Binah, made of Adam a נפש חיה Nephesh Chaiah, a Living Soul; that is, a resurrected Master that achieved completion of the whole work of Binah in Yetzirah, the world of formation.
Remember: in order to work with the seventh day, you have to be a Man of the Sixth, and in order to be Man of the Sixth Day, you have to annihilate your egos in your physicality, and have an Astral, Mental and Causal Bodies. There are many “Men of the Sixth Day,” Masters, but it is very rare for them to transform into a Man of the Seventh Day. So, right now, in the Gnostic movement, I do not see any Man of the Sixth Day. I only saw one of the Seventh, which is the Master Samael Aun Weor; but before reaching the Seventh, he was on the Sixth. If you have your Solar Bodies, work harder in order to reach, at least, the Man of the Sixth Day; then we can talk about the seventh.
Here, we have to talk about that in order for the people to listen and to read what the Books of Genesis talks about, because there is a lot of confusion. There are a lot of people that claim they are working in the seventh day already. When you read what they say you realize that... only people that do not know anything about Alchemy and Kabbalah will swallow that. Anyhow, it does not matter, because at the end it does not matter what the people say. What matters is what you do. Another question?
Student: Samael talks about the danger in stopping the energy at the certain point – like when you are practicing Alchemy or maybe having a nocturnal pollution. Is that a certain point that you should try to restrain that? He says that you have to restrain it at all cost.
Instructor: Of course, he speaks about this in the Perfect Matrimony. The Master says: you should avoid reaching the spasm, and withdraw from the sexual act long before the spasm. But sometimes you succumb and the spasm comes and you have to do supper effort by practicing the mantra Ham-Sah in order to avoid that; and that is something normal in someone that begins. Remember: the bull, the dog, the horse fornicate. We are intellectual animals, but we want to learn how to be a Human Being. Obviously, the physical body is not going to learn in one week, you have to teach it; teach your wife (your sexual organ). How is your wife (the sexual organ) behaving? Is it obeying you? The Bible says very clearly: the wife has to obey the husband, right? But if you read it literally, you become like a despot. No, this is something alchemical. The heart is the husband, the strength of the fire. Your wife (the sexual organ) has to obey the husband (the heart, and even the brain). If you control your wife, you do not need to control your physical spouse, right? Be happy if you control your own wife.
Student: So, [there is no danger in restraining it…]?
Instructor: As I said, in the beginning, there are a lot of people that do that because the body has to learn. The donkey knows only to fornicate and to teach the donkey how to transmute is to transform the donkey into a man. That is not easy. You would not do that just from one week to the next or from one month to the next month or to one year to the next year. It takes a lot of discipline. In time, with dedication, your body will learn. You will say one day: “Oh, finally, this donkey knows how to transmute.” Now, the problem is the other bodies that we have within; because it is one thing to teach the physical body, it is another thing is to teach the mind. The mind is another donkey. We will say that the physicality is a donkey and a mind is a mule – very stubborn – and you have to teach those animals. And, when you teach those animals, then Jesus enters triumphant into Jerusalem at Palm Sunday; before that, however? That cannot happen.
Student: Is El Shaddai also [… goblin], as well?
Instructor: Shed שד as well as Shaddai שדי. The Shin ש of the word Shaddai שדי is the Shin ש that, traditionally, the kabbalists write at the very door (Daleth ד) of the entrance to their home. The letter Shin ש, which is the synthesis of Shaddai שדי Shin-Daleth-Iod means that that kabbalist is not fornicating, but transmuting; that he knows the mysteries of Shaddai שדי. He or she works with the mystery of יהוה, the Daleth, the door and eventually he will serve Iod-Havah יהוה, which is higher, as Moses did. But, first, you have to add the Iod י to your Shed שד.
Student: So, does the Bible just translate Metatron as angel…?
Instructor: Yes, just as angel. You find the name of that angel in the book of Enoch, because Enoch was the Bodhisattva of that angel and he wrote three books. In order to work with Metatron, you have to reach the level of Moses, to work with the Enneagram, or what in the tradition of Judaism is called Hanukah. With one container of oil you enlighten the whole Tree of Life: that is Alchemy. In order to do that, you have to annihilate all your animals.
Student: Is Metatron the same as Melchizedek?
Instructor: No, Melchizedek is the Genie of the Earth, Malkuth.
Student: Does he also relate to Kether?
Instructor: Well, individually, all of them relate to Kether; but when we talk about the Tree of Life Metatron represents Kether, the first Sephirah, a very high angel; while, Melchizedek is the King of the Earth, the Genie of the Earth, which is Malkuth. We live in this physical Earth as his children. You have another question?
Student: We relate these three Iods with the first triangle, how does that relates to the Trinity?
Instructor: Kether is Iod, Chokmah is another Iod; but the Iod that descends into the world of Briah is Binah. That is why you say Iod-Hei-Vav, because the letter Vav is the river that descends. When the letter Iod (Yad, “hand”) elongates it becomes an arm (Yad) and that is the letter Vav. In other words, the letter Vav is the same Iod. That is why you say Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, right? Other kabbalists say: “Well, the letter Iod is the Shakti potential of God, of Metatron.” But when you are excited as a man, the letter Iod elongates, you have erection; it is the same Iod, but elongated, that is your Vav. That is why Master Samael states Iod-Hei means phallus-uterus (the man and the woman). But in order for the man to be a man, he needs erection. That is the meaning of the word Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, and the letter Hei is always feminine. Just by studying these four letters, Iod-Hei-Vav-Hei, and the three mother letters—Aleph, Shin and Mem—you open a vast universe; because it is through these symbols that you can then understand creation, and how to develop it within you.
