Let us delve into the alchemical and kabbalistic meaning of the cross, which is a very ancient symbol related with many religions. Despite that fact, in this day and age people associate it only with Christianity.
To understand the mysteries of the cross, we first have to understand the mystery of Christ, which Greek Word Emblem is related with fire. In Gnosticism, we have a prayer that states:
I believe in the Son, the cosmic Krestos, the powerful astral mediator, that links our physical personality with the supreme eminence of the Solar Father.
So in Gnosis, Christ is universal, cosmic. In Kabbalah, this cosmic force relates to the Ain Soph Aur, which is that part of the abstract absolute space immediately behind Kether, the first Sephirah of the Tree of Life. So as we explain in other lectures, the Ain Soph Aur - which is that light of the unknowable divine - plus the three aspects of the crown, that in Kabbalah are the sephiroth Kether, Chokmah and Binah, form the four aspects of what in Greek we call the Tetragrammaton, which is the holy name of God, Iod, Hei, Vav, Hei, which is light and fire. In Latin, that fire of the Lord is symbolized by the mantra written at the top of the cross, I.N.R.I., Ignis Natura Renovatur Integra, meaning “fire renews nature incessantly”. That fire is a solar fire; it is the cosmic Krestos, that in order to work, to manifest its power, it does it through the cross.
Thus, this is something that we have to analyze and comprehend, because the cross is formed by two beams, one vertical and the other horizontal. The vertical beam represents the masculine, positive, solar force that emerges from the abstract absolute space, the Ain Soph Aur, and penetrates the universe when fecundating the matter, which is that other substance which in Sanskrit is called Akash. In other words, what we in Sanskrit call Prana is Christ, the positive energy, and Akash, the passive energy, from the same source. The union of the two originates the universe. So from this point of view, we have to understand that the cosmic Christ is universal and the origin of everything that exists, in any galaxy of matter or antimatter.
So, those forces, Prana and Akash, positive and negative, are the first manifestations of the cross whose meaning we are deciphering. So from the crossing or union of these two forces appears that which we call the universe. Now, the objective for that energy to appear in the universe is to make consciousness of its own entity in its different aspects.
When this abstract light becomes manifested - in the first triangle of the Tree of Life - it is call the Manifested Krestos. The first triangle is known in Christianity as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and in Hinduism as Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, and in Kabbalah as the sephiroth Kether, Chokmah, and Binah. So, these three aspects of the crown form the Manifested Christ, which in Kabbalah is called Adam Kadmon. This Adam Kadmon is infinite and relates to the world of Atziluth in the Tree of Life, which as we know is formed by ten Sephiroth.
The first triangle of the Tree of Life (the sephiroth Kether, Chokmah, and Binah) is ruled by the crown, Kether, related to our head, specifically, the two hemispheres of our brain and the pineal gland. The first triangle is controlled by the Father. Thereafter, comes the second triangle of the Tree of Life, formed by the sephiroth Chesed, Geburah and Tiphereth; this triangle is controlled by Chokmah, the second Sephirah of the crown. This is why we say that the kingdom of the Father is in the head, but the kingdom of the Son is in the heart, because this second triangle is related with the lungs and heart. The lungs take the spirit, the breath, the air of the atmosphere; the lungs are related to the sephiroth Chesed and Geburah, the Spirit and the Spiritual Soul, while the heart relates to Tiphereth. Tiphereth is the human soul and is also called the son of man (Beni Adam), and Chokmah relates to the human soul. This is how you have to see it in your physicality.
Thereafter, below the second triangle, we find the third triangle formed by the sephiroth Netzach, Hod, and Yesod. This is called the triangle of priesthood or triangle of magic (the meaning is the same). The center of gravity of this triangle is in Yesod, which relates to the sexual organs, and it is ruled by the sephirah Binah, the Holy Spirit. So, the kingdom of the Holy Spirit, Binah, is in the sexual organs. In our organism, sexual potency relates to the kidneys; the sephiroth Netzach and Hod are related to the kidneys. This is how these sephiroth need to be seen alchemically in order to understand the meaning of the cross. Our physical body is in itself at the very bottom of the Tree of Life, it is Malkuth, the kingdom.
“And out of [Malkuth] the ground made Jehovah Elohim [Binah] to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the Tree of Life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” – Genesis 2: 9
Thus, if we alchemically observe our physical body, we will see that it is a tree pleasant to the sight, a kingdom, a fusion, of these Sephirothic forces. Thus, from these basics, we understand that we have two trees in our body, the Tree of Life within our central column which is the spinal medulla. Adjacent to the Tree of Life, we have two columns joint to each side of the central column; these are the columns of good and evil, sun and moon, positive and negative, Pingala and Ida, Adam and Eve, which are also related with the cross. Thus, Adam and Eve, positive and negative, Sun and Moon are related with the tree of good and evil, the Tree of Knowledge. The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge share the roots in the sexual organs.
So, when we see these elements in ourselves, we understand that in order to access the Tree of Life, which is the medulla, in order to enter the neutral force in the center, the column that stabilizes the left and right, the two columns of good and evil, we need to cross the two columns, the two forces, at their very bottom in order for the third force, related to the consciousness, to awaken!
The two forces, in the right and the left, are called in Sanskrit Pingala and Ida and in Taoism Ying and Yang. Sushumna is in the middle, and is the one we want to approach, because in the middle of the cross appears the crucified. In Christianity, the crucified is called Jesus, which is the Word with Hebrew origins; “Yeshua” means savior. This savior Yeshua is the fire that emerges from the union of the two polarities of the cross in any part of the universe. Yet, we are approaching our physicality alchemically, in order for us to understand what the Christ and what the cross are in us, given that the man crucified on the cross is the most profound symbol in Gnosticism.
When we approach the cross in the alchemical manner, we are not approaching an instrument of torture, as most “Christians” think, that the cross was only an instrument upon which the Master Aberamentho, Jesus of Nazareth, was crucified. Yes, he died on the cross, yet he came here in order to represent these mysteries that we are explaining to you; these Christic mysteries teach us the manner in which we attract the cosmic Christ to ourselves in order for Christ to self-realize our own particular Being.
When we see the crucified man on the cross, it cosmically represents the universe, but in us it represents INRI, the fire, that we need to awaken. This fire, this light, relates to life; light, fire, life relate each other as we explained in the lecture “Let Yehi be Lights.”
Children of the Cross
In the physical organism, we are split into two sexes, two sexualities. When we say sex, we are pointing the genitalia, given that through it is how we can differ between a male and a female. As in this physical world, in order for any species to multiply their species, they need to perform the crossing of their two sexual polarities; likewise, a man who penetrates a woman, his phallus becomes the vertical beam that crosses the horizontal beam, which is the vagina, the yoni of the woman. In consequence, all of us are children of the cross.
The sperm that emerges from the sexual organs of the man fecundates the ovum that emerges from the ovaries in the womb of the woman. As you can see, nature needs a womb in order to attract all the necessary elements to build a physical body. When we observe the development of the sperm within the womb of the woman, we realize that the first thing that is formed is the brain and the spinal medulla. Subsequently, the rest, all the arms, bones, etcetera, the whole complexity of the physical body, is formed as if by magic, in the womb of the woman. This is called in Latin the matrix where we are physically generated.
Nevertheless, when we approach the cosmic Christ, we also approach the womb of the woman. In esotericism, in alchemy, when we say woman, we are referring to the physical body, to Malkuth, whether we are of masculine or feminine gender. For each of us, the sephirah Malkuth is feminine.
In our physicality, we have another womb, and that womb is the spinal medulla. To fecundate the spinal medulla is to enter into the Gnostic mysteries of the cross, which are related to the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil.
In this day and age, any man knows how to fecundate the woman’s womb in order to bring children to the Earth, yet in the ancient times, the knowledge to fecundate the spinal medulla in order to create the Son of God inside, the sacred knowledge of alchemy, was necessary; that is to know how to cross the two sexual polarities, because “except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God,” and only the sexual force can create. We are now approaching the mystery of how to be born again.
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” - John 3: 5, 6
We are born of the flesh through the sexual act. Similarly, to be born of the Spirit, we also use the sexual energy. There is no other way. Let us not fall into the absurdity of thinking that to be born again is a matter of believing in something, because any woman in this physical world does not have to believe anything in order to have a child, all she needs to do is to perform the sexual act with her husband and to become pregnant.
As below, so above, and as above, so below; to be born again, the same law is applied, yet the procedure is different. If we are born physically through the cross, then we are going to be born spiritually also through the cross; yet, the womb that we have to fecundate is the spinal medulla.
The spinal medulla is called the womb of Mary, the Divine Mother. The Divine Mother is coiled three and a half times in the chakra Muladhara, a chakra between the anus and the genitalia, while the Father as the Holy Spirit resides in the pineal gland. The fire of the Holy Ghost fecundates Mary, the Divine Mother in the chakra Muladhara, in order for INRI, the son, to emerge. But in order to do that, the two forces, masculine and feminine, need to be crossed. No one will awake this Christic force just by believing in it.
In ancient times, when someone was entering the path of Gnosis (knowledge), it was demanded of men to become monks, and women to become nuns, since in the beginning there is a need to learn how to control the sexual force to eventually advance in the initiation and to awaken consciousness, since the one who is born again is the consciousness. The one who is born again is not the ego, nor is it a new belief in the mind. Childen of God are those who 'were born, not of blood [lineage], nor of the will of the flesh [orgasm], nor of the will of man [statutes], but of God.' – John 1: 13
At the entrance or initiation, everybody understood that the goal as a human soul was to marry the spiritual soul. In the man, the spiritual soul is feminine, while the human soul is masculine. In the woman, the human soul, even though related to willpower, is feminine, and her spiritual soul masculine. The spiritual soul can polarize either masculine or feminine depending on the will of the Spirit, God, inside. This is why the human soul in a woman warrior was called Amazon, while in a man warrior a Knight, both of them fighting for the conquering of their spiritual soul. The spiritual soul was always guarded by a dragon. In order to betroth the divine soul, the warrior had to conquer the dragon, thus, armored with a lot of courage, willpower, without fear, they had to defeat the dragon and thereafter marry the divine soul.
The human and divine souls are accurately called soul mates. Everyone knows the term “soul mates,” but they mistakenly think that they will find their soul mate in the physical plane; this way of thinking is wrong. The betrothal of these souls is a journey that we take inside, not outside, yet is done by utilizing the forces of the outside world, called Malkuth.
Conquer the Dragon
Who is the dragon? The dragon is Lucifer, the carrier of the light. But Lucifer is not a person. Lucifer is an energy, it is a force that grants the sexual impulse, strength, erection to the man, and the humidity to the woman, in order to perform the sexual alchemical work. Lucifer (luce-fer] means “bearer of fire.” That the dragon breathes fire from its mouth? Yes it does! This is why the sephirah Geburah, the Spiritual Soul, is always represented by the woman, because her yoni, the sexual organ of the woman like a volcano in Malkuth breathes out the blood, the fire of Geburah; thus, only the man with his lance, his phallus, can pierce the dragon and defeat Lucifer. Sadly, most of the knights that enter the woman are defeated by the fire of the dragon, since they do not understand that the feminine yoni is the aspect that represents the dragon’s mouth. This is why the dragon, in the form of a serpent, talked to Eve in the Garden of Eden - עדן means voluptuousness, bliss- which is what we experience in the sexual act.
“Now the serpent [the dragon מרשעת] was more subtle than any beast of the field which Jehovah Elohim had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath Elohim said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent [the dragon], We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree [the sexual fire] which is in the midst of the garden, Elohim hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
“And the serpent [the dragon מרשעת] said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For Elohim does know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as Elohim, knowing good and evil.” – Genesis 3: 1-5
Indeed, the tree of sex, of knowledge of good and evil, will give us knowledge, wisdom, if we defeat the dragon. But Adam did not defeat Eve’s dragon. Adam fell at the feet of Eve’s dragon.
And the wicked woman [the dragon מרשעת] withholds their light, thus their lofty arm [Ida] is broken. – Job 38: 15
This is something we need to understand in order to comprehend our sexual nature. We have to defeat male’s dragon and female’s dragon, because this is how we enter into the Major Initiations.
When the man and woman spill their sexual force in the sexual act, when they reach the orgasm, they are defeated by their dragons. This is why everyone in this world is a victim of the dragon. It is rare to find great knights and amazons that are controlling their dragons, in other words their sexual fire, which is our animal force that we have to transform.
In the beginning, the initiate learn how to work with the two polarities that he or she has in his or her own body; these polarities are positive and negative, Pingala and Ida, and in the male are related with his two testicles and in the woman with her two ovaries. So, by crossing their two forces, the monk or the nun teach their body how to deal with the two forces of the dragon, thus preparing themselves to enter into the major mysteries. Such a preparation takes nine initiations of minor mysteries, in which the soul is learning in the physical body how to deal with the two polarities, how to awaken their consciousness, and how to defeat the children of the dragon, namely, lust, pride, anger, laziness, gluttony, laziness, greed and all of the defects that we carry inside.
In ancient times, when the celibate monks or nuns were advancing and conquering themselves, they were awakening their consciousness, because the sexual force was giving them access to the nine initiations of minor mysteries. Then, when their consciousness was thus awakened, they entered into the mysteries of the Lord.
Now, in order for the Lord to enter as a Savior, as Yeshua, into the physicality of any initiate, this initiate has to be born again, and precisely here rests the problem. Because in order to create within us the Son of God, which in Christianity is called Jesus, which in ancient Egypt was called Horus, and which in ancient Mexico was called Quetzalcoatl, in order for this Messiah, the anointed one, to appear inside of us, two individuals, male and female, need to cross their two draconian forces in the sexual act.
Physically speaking, we have the Father in the head, the Son in the heart, and the Holy Spirit in the sexual force.So these are the centers of gravity of the Trinity, in both man and woman. It is obvious that the sexual creative force of the Holy Spirit is divided, separated in two polarities, because the Holy Spirit, Binah, needs to be divided in Daath in order to create inside of us. Therefore, the monk and the nun, who were already prepared and with their consciousness awakened, were receiving the teachings, the knowledge of the sexual act, in order to fecundate their own medulla, their own spiritual womb. As they were celibates, they already knew how to control their sexual forces. Thus, when they were entering into the Ninth Sphere, Yesod, in order to be sexually united, they knew what to do, so they were doing the same sexual transmutation, but sexually united; both of them knew that their dragon was going to be present there, the dragon that throws fire through the mouth. So, to defeat that dragon was not easy.
So those neophytes, when they were entering into that process, when in their physicalities they were crossing the three primary forces namely, Kether, Chokmah, and Binah, or Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, or Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, in their sexual act, in the union of those forces, they were working and awakening the lightning, or what we call in the Nordic Runes, the Rune Sig. The Sig is the fire that emerges from the cloud full of water. When the lightning emerges from a cloud, it is because the two polarities, heaven and earth are crossed, thus, the lightning, which is the Rune Sig, appears.
From that Sig, from that lightning fired from the cloud, comes what in esotericism is called Siegfried, Sig-fried or Sig-Fired, such is the esoteric meaning of Siegfried. He has the same meaning of the Hebrew Jesus; this is why it is written that Jesus, Yeshua is the son of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit. When we say Yeshua, we address Christ, INRI, the lightning that emerges in their very sexual contact.
This Siegfried, Jesus, lightning fired from the Muladhara chakra, emerges from the coccyx, and rises little by little throughout the spinal medulla.
In the measure that this sexual transmutation is practiced between spouses, husband and wife, man and woman, the fire rises the 33 vertebrae of the spinal column. Behold here the sacred age of Jesus, 33 years. Behold also the 33 degrees of Masonry, which are the degrees that we acquire when the fire rises. When this fire awakes for the first time in the physical organism, that individual knows the mysteries of the Savior, of the Lord, at a very low level. So this energy rises, and when it reaches the center of the eyebrows, it is stated that Isaac, the son of Abraham and Sarah, is born inside. The spiritual soul, our divine soul, Geburah, takes all of that transmuted fire and becomes a master; the monad Atman-Buddhi emerges as a master in the cosmos as all of this fire grants the mastery. As you see, these Monads are what the gospel of John called the children of God; because it is a child of God that is born in Geburah, the superlative consciousness of the Being.
But as many as received him [in Geburah], to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that have faith on his name: Which were born, not of blood [lineage], nor of the will of the flesh [orgasm], nor of the will of man [statutes], but of God. – John 1: 12, 13
The Body of Liberation
Meanwhile here in Malkuth, this physical world, something magical is happening, with the ascension of that fire through the spinal column, when this fire little by little rises through the medulla. Thus, in the same way as in the womb of the woman, physically speaking, the fetus appears, which is that fecundated cell that takes nine months to develop and when that baby comes out of the womb, it is a baby that needs to grow outside of the womb in order to become an adult physical body, which is the body that all of us here have. Similarly, when the Kundalini of the physical body is rising through the spinal medulla, a superior physical body is created, which is what Master Samael calls “the body of liberation.” This body is the first outcome of the union of the two male female sexual forces.
Behold Krishna and Radha to illustrate this lecture. Radha represents the spiritual soul, while Krishna is the human soul that is performing the work. This show us that not only in Christianity do we have these two polarities, but they are shown in different religions. This shows that the spiritual soul is always chaste, yet she is inside of our Monad. Krishna represents the Christic energy that descends from Chokmah and mingles with the human soul; Krishna is black, since Krishna means 'black' or the 'dark one'. Krishna symbolizes the Christic force in all of us that starts in this path. We are black, psychologically speaking, since we have defects and vices. But we long to marry Radha, the spiritual soul.
“Buddhi, our superlative consciousness was engendered by our divine God within the dark waters of space. Atman-Buddhi forms the Inner Master... The Superior Manas [human soul] must be elevated even to Atman-Buddhi, in order to fuse with him. I say to my Arhats:
“When the human-will fuses with the Inner Master, it becomes omnipotent, that is, when the Superior Manas fuses with Atman-Buddhi, it becomes loaded with all the ineffable powers of the Innermost and becomes omnipotent. Thus, the fifth Initiation of Major Mysteries is the first Nirvanic initiation. Therefore, when we count from above, starting with Atman (Chesed or Gedulah) and finishing with Sthula Sarira (Malkuth, the physical body), the fifth serpent is the third serpent.......
“We marry Buddhi by means of sexual intercourse. All of this sexual work is a work of Sexual Alchemy. Sexual Magic transforms our Innermost into a God. The Innermost is the son of the inner Christ. The inner Christ is the Glorian of each human being. Our Glorian is a spark detached from the Central Sun. The Central Sun is the Great Breath. The Great Breath is the Army of the Voice. The Army of the Voice is a host of divine beings. The host of divine beings forms the Cosmic Christ, the Solar Logos, the Word.” – Samael Aun Weor
Radha and Krishna are both beautiful, because either one symbolizes the sephirah Tiphereth (Hebrew, “beauty”). If you are a woman working on yourself, eventually you will marry your spiritual soul, which is masculine, but will be the opposite for the man. Understand that the Being can materialize or manifest either of its two polarities, because the Spirit is androgynous. Most of the time we think that the masculinity of the human soul relates to Yesod, the sexual organs, but the reality is that it relates to Tiphereth, the heart, to that masculine force that relates to willpower. Thus, Tiphereth, willpower, is masculine, but Tiphereth as willpower as a human soul can be incarnated in a female body as an “Amazon.” Obviously, this Amazon will look for her spiritual soul, which will be masculine. So again, the forces of the Being can thus polarize in either way. We have to think in an alchemical manner.
Sequentially, what is that body that starts to crystallize from the surplus of the hydrogen of the human organism? The Mahabharata calls it Yudhisthira, born to be King or a Malachim. Yudhisthira relates to the consciousness, the Bodhichitta. When you start working alchemically with your sexual energies, this energy is the Bodhichitta. This is Yudhisthira developed as your consciousness, your Bodhichitta. So, Yudhisthira is the first archetype that emerges, that is born to be King if one continues on the path.
The second son of the king according to the Mahabharata is Bhima, a strong creature that symbolizes the extractum that the initiate takes from the physicality. Master Samael calls this extract the “body of liberation.” The body of liberation is an extractum of the physical body. Let us read what the Master Samael wrote in his book Christ’s Will:
“I say to my Arhats that within each Buddha there are seven Buddhas. I say to my Arhats that when searching for their Self, when realizing their inner Self, our divine, eternal Triad is father, mother, children, spouse, siblings.
“I say to my Arhats that every Buddha has his Bodhisattva. I say to my Arhats that the Bodhisattva is the Human Soul with the psychic extracts of the four bodies of sin.
- I say to my Arhats that the Body of Liberation is extracted from the physical body.
- I say to my Arhats that the golden body [Soma Psychikon] is extracted from the ethereal body.
- I say to my Arhats that the Soul-Christ is extracted from the Astral body: the Inner Christ is the Glorian, the resplendent dragon of wisdom.
- I say to my Arhats that the Christ-Mind is extracted from the Mental body.
“Thus, this is how the inferior quaternary comes to reinforce our divine, eternal Triad. We marry the beautiful Helen by means of sexual intercourse.
“All of this sexual work is a work of Sexual Alchemy. Sexual Magic transforms our Innermost into a God. The Innermost is the son of the inner Christ. The inner Christ is the Glorian of each human being. Our Glorian is a spark detached from the Central Sun. The Central Sun is the Great Breath. The Great Breath is the Army of the Voice. The Army of the Voice is a host of divine beings. The host of divine beings forms the Cosmic Christ, the Solar Logos, the Word.”
So, the body of liberation is extracted from the physical body. The body of liberation is formed in the fourth dimension, and is a body that will be used by Atman-Buddhi, the Monad. What would we as ego do with the body of liberation, which is an immortal body? Master Samael said in Christ’s Will:
“The first fiery snake is lifted with the first Initiation of Major Mysteries. The second with the second Initiation, the third with the third Initiation, the fourth with the fourth Initiation, the fifth with the fifth Initiation, the sixth with the sixth Initiation, and seventh with the seventh Initiation.
“Each one of our bodies of sin must be replaced by a body of beauty [Tiphereth].
“By means of the fiery snake of the physical body, we build the body of liberation, made of the purest musk. By means of the fiery snake of the Ethereal body, we build the Soma Psychikon or body of gold. By means of the fiery snake of the Astral body, we form the Self-Christ. By means of the fiery snake of the Mental body, we form the Mind-Christ.
“Therefore, the body of liberation, the Soma Psuchikon, the Self-Christ, and the Mind-Christ replace the physical, Vital, Astral, and Mental bodies.
“Therefore, the fire renews all things, and the Heavenly Man replaces the Earthly Man.
“The seven fiery serpents are lifted and set upon a pole when the spouses - priest and priestess - are practicing Sexual Magic. There must be sexual connection, yet without even one single drop of semen spilling out. Refrained desire will make the chi from our seminal liquid to rise upwardly, towards the head. Thus, this is how our Beings are transformed into omnipotent gods of the universe. Thus, this is how we lift our seven fiery serpents and set them upon a pole, as Moses did in the wilderness.
“Bachelors and bachelorettes transmute their sexual energy with music, devotion, prayer, and by loving God and their neighbor. With the might of sacrifice, bachelors and bachelorettes make the chi of each one of their seven fiery serpents to rise. Sexual abstention is a tremendous sacrifice. Only the path of chastity and sanctity can lead us to great realizations. Only the path of perfection and unbiased service on behalf of wretched, suffering humanity can take us towards the indescribable bliss of Nirvana.” – Samael Aun Weor
The body of liberation continues to perfect itself through all the initiations. So, what is what we build when we are being born again in the first initiation of major mysteries? We build the body of liberation with the surplus of energy, because the Christic fire is taken by the Spirit. The surplus of sexual hydrogen that we are talking about builds the body of liberation in the same way that the woman builds a physical body in her womb; thus, in the same way, from within the spinal medulla, which is the spiritual womb, the body of liberation expands, is formed, little by little. Not like people think, that it suddenly appears, by dint of magic. Yes, it appears by magic, but sexual magic! As the fetus develops in the womb, likewise, its development is an alchemical process that is very slow.
Then, when we enter into the second Initiation of Major Mysteries, when we enter into the fires of Yesod, which is the vital body, then Master Samael says we form the golden body, which is called the Soma Psychikon [Greek, “soul-substance body”], which is extracted from the ethereal body. The union of the Soma Psychikonand the body of liberation appears in the fourth dimension, in what we also call Eden. It is a body that is being formed along with the consciousness. It develops inside of the initiate. This is the first step to being born again. Master Samael explains:
“The Bodhichitta emerges in the aspirant who sacrifices himself for his fellowmen, long before the Mercurial bodies have been created.” - The Gnostic Bible: The Pistis Sophia Unveiled
“We extract the body of liberation from the physical body. This body is made with flesh, but flesh that does not come from Adam. It is a body filled with millenarian perfections. It is elaborated with the most evolved atoms of our physical body.
“The body of Gold [the Soma Psychikon-soul-substance body] that interpenetrates the body of liberation is extracted from the Ethereal body.” – Treatise of Sexual Alchemy
So, the Soma Psychikon or Bodhichitta and the body of liberation are created before the creation of the mercurial bodies, namely, Hod, Netzach and Tiphereth, which are above Yesod. Do not make the mistake of believing that the Soma Psychikonand the body of liberation relates to the Astral body. The Astral body is something different. Master Samael explains that the Astral body is the Soul-Christ, which is extracted from the specter or phantom astral lunar body. Let us read:
“The third serpent rises through the medullar canal of the Astral specter. The third serpent must reach the magnetic field at the root of the nose, and then from there descend to the heart through a secret passageway within where seven holy chambers exist. When the third serpent reaches the heart, a most beautiful child, the Christ-astral is born. The outcome of all this is the initiation. The neophyte has to experience within his Astral body the entire drama of the Passion of Christ. He has to be crucified, die and be buried. He has then to resurrect and must also descend to the Abyss and remain there for forty days before the Ascension.” - The Perfect Matrimony by Samael Aun Weor
So the third serpent rises in the phantom astral body, because we have an astral phantom, we do not have a solar astral body, and that phantom is called Kama Rupa, “the body of desires” (Sanskrit). Thus by learning how to transform desire into willpower, the serpent is rising in that phantom, in that lunar body. Then the astral solar body is developing in the medulla, because the medulla is the womb. But it is being formed little by little.
When the fire of Kundalini rises to the head and reaches the heart, then a new baby is born, inside of us! That is what Christianity calls the baby Jesus, and in Hinduism the baby Krishna, and in Judaism the baby Moses. He is born very small, and his development is little by little, very slow. Thus, the astral body is formed in the womb of the lunar body that we have.
After we experience that birth, another body has to be created, a body that belongs to the fifth dimension. For this we need to enter into the fourth initiation; in it the Christ mind is extracted from the mental body. What mental body? The lunar mental body that we have; here we have to learn how to control the mind; this, is a very difficult initiation, because in our mind we have a den of defects and vices, but while doing that we are building another body called the Christ-mind. This body is the Solar Mind. Master Samael states that this is how the inferior quaternary, which is the sephiroth Malkuth, Yesod, Hod and Netzach, comes to reinforce our divine eternal Triad, the sephiroth Chesed, Geburah, and Tiphereth.
The sephirah Tiphereth is the bodhisattva. When we reach this level, when we have created these four bodies, then we enter into the mysteries of the fifth initiation that relates to Tiphereth the human soul. You see the scale, to be born again means, to utilize the cross in the physical body, vital body, astral body, mental body and finally in the causal body. So this is the mystery of the cross; to be born again; or as Master Jesus states in the gospels, to be born again of water and spirit. The water is the sexual energy in our sexual organs, and the spirit is the fire, the fire of the dragon that we are controlling. This is the alchemical process of creating the human being inside of us.
When we reach this level of Bodhisattva, or Tiphereth, then we have the right to call ourselves human beings. Before that, we cannot. We are only seed-germs in the process of becoming human beings.
All of this is performed through the cross that is formed with the sexual union between man and woman; this is why it is written in the commandments, “Honor thy father and mother,” since mother is water and father is spirit that join in the cross.
I remember one time walking in the streets... As you know, you sometimes run into Jehovah's Witnesses that try to convince you that you need to become a Jehovah's Witness in order to be saved, etc. So I started conversing with them:
“I agree with everything you say, that to be saved I need to become a Jehovah's witness, but listen, Jehovah Elohim is the holy name of God in Binah, whose kingdom is in Yesod, sex. Thus, the two witnesses of Jehovah are the testicles. This is why 'testis' in Latin means witness.”
Then they became very angry with me.
“You cannot teach me what to be a Jehovah's witness really means. No, no, no,” said the person, “We know the mysteries of the cross, and that is sinful. The cross symbolizes the sexual act.”
“So, you know about that, eh,” I said.
“Yes,” the person answered, “that is why we do not worship the cross.”
“Oh yeah,” I said, “but you perform the cross, right? Do you have children?”
“But you said that you do not worship the cross? But you indeed worship the cross very much,” I said, “but in the wrong way. Because you are a child of the cross, and all of your children are children of the cross. No one in this world is born without the cross.”
“No,” he answered, “I meant the cross of the Catholics.”
“I agree with that, too,” I said, “because Catholics are not working with the cross; beginning with the monks, since they are celibate, so they do not worship the cross. They just talk about the cross.”
So to know the mysteries of the cross is to know how to be born again, it is not only to have the cross on your altar. If you are a monk, you are only working with the vertical beam, and if you are a nun, only with the horizontal beam. Although, in the middle ages, monks and nuns were getting married to sexually uniting themselves in secrecy in order to work with the alchemical cross. But now, they just talk about the cross, believe in the cross, but in the moment when they have to perform the cross, they do not do it.
Thus, these Jehovah's witnesses were overwhelmed with what I was telling them. I said, “Well, this is the truth. So, do not tell me that you do not like the cross, do not tell me that you hate the cross, because if that is the point, then become a nun and your husband a monk. Then you will be enemies of the cross.”
So, there are many people who worship the cross, yet they do not perform the cross. And if they perform it, they perform it in the wrong way. So that is the main point of this lecture. Let us now enter deeper into these mysteries of the cross.
The Seven Utterances on the Cross
“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” – Luke 23: 34
“And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.” – Matthew 27: 35
We find that this first mystery of the cross relates to the vesture of Jesus. His vesture is described in the following quotations from the Pistis Sophia:
“And all the rulers and all those who are in the Fate, were thrown into agitation and fell on one another and were in exceeding great fear on seeing the great light that was about me. And they gazed on my vesture of light and saw the mystery of their name on my vesture and fell into still greater agitation; and they were in great fear, saying; ‘How hath the lord of the universe passed through us without our knowing?’ And all the bonds of their regions and of their orders and of their houses were unloosed; they all came at once, fell down adored before me and sang praises all together to the interiors of the interiors, being in great fear and great agitation.” - Pistis Sophia
Somebody asked, “Is that vesture of light related with the five words: Zama Zama Ozza Rachama Ozai, which Master Samael stated: “These are words of the language of the Light?” I will say that these words are related to the Bodhisattva’s five solar bodies, namely, physical [Body of Liberation], vital [Soma Psychikon, Bodhichitta], astral [Soul Christ], mental [Christ Mind] and causal [Bodhisattva], for in order for the incarnated Christ to receive his vesture, the light of Chokmah (Hebrew, “wisdom”), he needs someone to reach the level of human being, because only in a human being, only in a Bodhisattva, can the incarnated Lord develop his light and shine exceedingly. So this also relates to the transfiguration. Master Samael stated:
“The transfiguration occurs when He interprets the Law of Moses with total intelligence, by teaching unto the people and unfolding in His works all of the marvelous zeal of Elias.” - Samael Aun Weor
Elias and Moses appear in the transfiguration where the vesture of Jesus shines like lightning. Such light is placed in the sexual organs. Thus, nobody can shine like Jesus if he of she is not in chastity, if he of she is not transmuting and working with the cross. The work of Jesus is the work between him [Tiphereth] and Mary Magdalene [Malkuth]. For, how are the seven horns or medullas or spiritual wombs going to be fecundated and the seven eyes or seven chakras going to shine within all of the seven bodies, if the Lamb is not crucified? Without the cross, it is impossible.
“Whosoever knows, the word gives power to. No one has uttered it; no one will utter it, except the one who has the Word incarnated. The substance of the Word is power, is omnipotence.” – Huiracocha
Now, as Master Samael states, the development of the Word of God relates to Moses [body of willpower] and Elijah [solar mind]. Moses wrote the first five books of the bible based on the very mysterious Kabbalah. So to talk about the mysteries of Alchemy and Kabbalah is to express to the people the mysteries of Moses, who symbolizes Tiphereth. This is why the great masters that have reached the level of Bodhisattva shine according to their own ray. Moses shines in his vesture, which is his wisdom, written in the Pentateuch, where he shows the Word of God, which is the light of his vesture, shown in the books that he wrote. The light of Jesus of Nazareth, the Master Aberamentho, the Word of God is shown in his book Pistis Sophia, which Master Samael unveiled with Kabbalah and Alchemy in order for us to understand it. Likewise with Muhammad, the light of his vesture, the Word of God, is shown in the Koran. All of Christs wisdom is written there, since the light of Christ, the Word of God, manifests through different levels, through different vessels.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” – John 1: 1
Christ, the Word of God, is universal, yet in order for Christ to become human, we need to become human. But, if we do not have the astral, mental, and causal bodies within, if we have not built the Bodhichitta and the body of liberation within, then we are not humans. How is Christ going to incarnate in us if we are not humans?
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us [humans], and we [bodhisattvas] beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” – John 1: 14
Arjuna who represents Tiphereth in the Mahabharata comes to my mind at this moment. With the causal body, Arjuna goes and talks to Krishna. Yet, four brothers of Krishna-Arjuna, the Bodhisattva, are also represented there; these five Pandavas form the five bodies of the Bodhisattva, namely, Nakula and Sahadeva [Hod and Netzach] are the twins, Bhima and Yudhisthira [Malkuth and Yesod]. They are five brothers with Arjuna [Tiphereth] within which Krishna, who represents Vishnu, the incarnated Christ, form the Bodhisattva within them. Thus, the whole Mahabharata is unfolded, written in relation to these five Pandavas and Krishna. Analogous to Arjuna and Krishna is Jesus and Christ same symbol. Thus, Krishna, Jesus Christ, Muhammad, Buddha, etc., are different names that address the same archetype.
Now then, these Masters worked and delivered the same knowledge. Yet, people who ignore the true doctrine started to exploit their doctrine. And this is why the first word that Jesus spoke on the cross was “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” These words means they know not what to do with his wisdom. Subsequently it is written:
“Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. They said therefore among themselves: Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which said, ‘they parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots.’ These things therefore the soldiers did.” – John 19: 23, 24
So that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet David:
“For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked has enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.” – Psalm 22: 16-18
Let us analyze these quotations, where the soldiers throws dice in order to see who will get the vesture of Jesus. If we analyze this in Christianity, we can see what any heads of any Christian organization always say, “We have the real knowledge of Jesus Christ: Follow us!” For instance, we have the pope in Rome that represents the Catholic church, and the heads of many other sects of Christianity that claim that only they have the true knowledge of Christ. Likewise, we can analyze any religion and we will see that they say the same thing. All the followers of these initiates always interpret the scriptures at their own whim, and cast lots, play dice, to see who is the one who will get the vesture of light, the Christic wisdom.
In this day and age, Master Samael Aun Weor, who attained the self-realization of his Being, wrote more than seventy books. Sadly, now, in the physical world, Malkuth, there is a fight among Gnostic groups. Each group states, “We have the rights. The other groups are wrong; we are right.” Thus, they say that in order for each of us to be right, we have to follow their organization.
Other groups throw dice in order to determine who who will be in charge of their organization. Like any other political party, they change. Once in a while they vote to see who is going to be the president of their organization. So we have Presbyterians, Mormons, Jehovah's witnesses, Catholics, etc. who rely on a roll of the dice for their leadership.
Regarding this knowledge of Gnosticism that we are presenting here in this group, we have egos as many groups have them, too. Thus, we are trying not to fall into the same mistake, to say, “We are the ones, you need to follow us.” What we say is: follow the Lord, the Christ which is within you.
Most of the Hasnamussen claim that they are the ones, thus, this is how they fall into the same mistake of throwing the dice behind the cross. This is what the Lord of any christified adept in the internal worlds sees. Muhammad sees how the Muslims are fighting. Moses sees how all the sects of Judaism are fighting. Jesus sees how all the sects of Christianity are fighting. Samael sees how the modern sects of Gnosis are fighting. They do not understand, they are asleep, and make of the doctrine something fanatical. This is why Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
There are now millions of Gnostics of different denominations, who must not fall into the mistake of getting involved with politics, thinking this or that other group is “the right one.” The written doctrine of Samael is what is right, because the Word of Samael is in his doctrine, not outside.
So that in regards to the first utterance that the Lord pronounced on the cross.
The Second Utterance
Now the second utterance that Jesus pronounced on the cross was: “I thirst” This second utterance is related with what Jesus said in Judea:
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying: “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” - John 7: 37, 38
If we carefully read the former quotation we will then understand that it is an alchemical statement in regards to the type of water that Jesus needs. To understand this better let us read the following statement in Pistis Sophia:
"For this cause have I said unto you: "I am come to cast fire on the earth,' – - that is: I am come to purify the sins of the world with fire.
“And for this cause have I said to the Samaritan woman: 'If thou knewest of the gift of God, and who it is who saith unto thee: Give me to drink, -- thou wouldst ask, and he would give thee living water, and there would be in thee a spring which welleth up for everlasting life.'
“And for this cause I took also a cup of wine, blessed it and give it unto you and said: 'This is the blood of the covenant which will be poured out for you for the forgiveness of your sins."
'And for this cause they have also thrust the spear into my side, and there came forth water and blood. "And these are the mysteries of the Light which forgive sins; that is to say, these are the namings and the names of the Light." - Pistis Sophia
We have to understand that the utterance “I thirst” is a sexual alchemical statement, for the Lord is always working in Tiphereth, in the heart of the initiate, trying to develop that initiate. Thus, for his work he needs mercurial water. Christ says from the sephirah Tiphereth, “I thirst,” and in the sephirah Yesod crucified with the Lord on the cross, at the very bottom, in the sephirah Malkuth is Mary Magdalene. Christ, the Lord, the light, symbolizes the Spirit that is in union with the human soul. Thus, the human soul that wants to develop Christ inside needs to drink the water of life that comes out of our own belly in the sephirah Malkuth. Therefore, it is necessary to perform the cross in order to be born of water and of the Spirit.
The seven utterances that the Lord spoke on the cross relate to sexual magic. These are mysteries that we are developing, mysteries that are measured in the same measure that we perform this alchemical path.
The Third Utterance
Let us now delve into this terrible symbol of which many are afraid. It is really a symbol of the Cherubim, as the book of Genesis states:
“So he drove out Adam; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the Tree of Life” - Genesis 3: 24 .
The Tree of Life is the spinal medulla, the womb where we develop as a soul inside. As Master Samael Aun Weor stated:
“Unquestionably the ascension of the Intimate Christ within each one of us can be attained by means of the Fifteenth Mystery, the Mystery of Tiphon Baphomet, which is solved with the Sixth Mystery; you know this.....
“Lucifer-Baphomet grants us the sexual impulse, through which the realization of the Great Work is possible.
“When we wound Baphomet to death with the Lance of Longinus, we transmute Lead into Gold. Sexual transmutation is fundamental for the christification. This is the Mystery of Barometric Indubitably, if we spill the Hermetic Glass, then metallic transmutation is absolutely impossible.
“Those who learn how to utilize the sexual impulse intelligently can perform the Great Work. The ascension of the Intimate Christ within us is absolutely possible when we have comprehended the Fifteenth Mystery, which is the same Mystery of Lucifer-Baphomet.
“The Guardians [Cherubims] of the gates of the Aeons want to grant the Initiate the right to pass, but when they see him very much alive, they realize that he is not yet prepared.
“Sophia is found in the sexual Chaos, in the brute Azoth. We must liberate Sophia from within the darkness of the Chaos. This is possible by transmuting the sacred sperm into creative energy.
“There exist two Chaos, the one from the Macrocosm and the one from the Microcosm. The Chaos of the Microcosm is found in our sexual organs...” - Samael Aun Weor
“And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. And the superscription of his accusation was written over “I N R I” Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum.
“And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying: “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calls Elias.” - Mark 15: 25, 26, 33-35
The third utterance is related with the third hour when the Lord is crucified. Remember that when we enter into initiation, the first sephirah is Malkuth, the second is Yesod, and the third is Hod, because we are raising the mountain of God.
It is written:
“And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. And the superscription of his accusation was written over Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum.”
This means “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” When we address the Jews, we are not talking about the Jews, the Hebrews, the Israelites that live in the Middle East or in any part of the world, no. In Kabbalah, Jew is spelled Iod, Hei, Vav. “Yew” is also read IAO. Thus, Jews are those who work in themselves with IAO, the three primary Christic forces, which are Prana, the Iod, the Hei and the Vav of “Yew” Judah, the solar force in our three brains. This means that any Master who appears in this world is a Son of Christ, who in Tiphereth is the Sun-King of any initiate. Naturally, here we are explaining IAO in relation with the Hebrew letters.
Thus, Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum is addressing those initiates who work in themselves with INRI; it does not address people of any race. We always need to read the gospels with spiritual eyes in order to understand. This is why it is stated that the Jews crucified Jesus. Because, if we, the Jews, the Lions of Judah, Tiphereth, do not work with the alchemical cross, then how is the Lord going to save our Pistis Sophia? The cross saves us.
“The Lord of Perfection must live through the entire cosmic drama in our innermost depths. One is astonished to contemplate all of the torture that the Lord of Perfection endures in the Causal World. In the Causal World, the Hidden Christ undergoes all the indescribable bitterness of his Way of the Cross. There is no doubt that Pilate [our mind] washes his hands and justifies himself, yet finally condemns the Beloved to death on the cross. For the clairvoyant Initiate, the ascent to Calvary is extraordinary. Indubitably, [Tiphereth] the Solar Consciousness integrated with the Innermost Christ, crucified on the majestic cross of Calvary, utters terribly powerful phrases which ordinary human beings cannot comprehend.” - The Great Rebellion by Samael Aun Weor
The crucified Lord can certainly eliminate from within us the intrinsic causes of our errors, the evil things of Karma that we have. Thus, in order for the Lord to save us, he needs to be crucified inside of us. People do not understand this. When they read what is written in the gospels, they misinterpret them and start accusing those people who lived in the Middle East of having killed Jesus of Nazareth. Still they are accusing them. Who knows what happened 2,000 years ago? However, here we are talking alchemically and kabbalistically. That the Jews kill Jesus? Yes, because if Christ does not die inside of us, one as a soul does not resurrect with him. Death is the work of the Lord, and he does it inside with fire, which is what it is called I.N.R.I.. This is why that every time you are performing the sexual act as an Alchemist, Jesus is being crucified within you, because he is the light or the fire that emerges from the positive and negative forces that are joined in the sexual act.
It is written:
“And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
This is a mystery of what we call the spiritual night.
What do we find between the sixth and ninth hour, better said, between the sixth sephirah Tiphereth and the ninth sephirah Yesod? We see kabbalistically that darkness relates to the left column of the Tree of Life and in the column of the left is Hod between these said Sephiroth. Thus, according to initiation Hod is the third hour.
In the sephirah Hod we have the Kama Rupa, the body of desires. So, when the initiate reaches that level with his cross, up there in heaven they examine the initiate, he has all the solar bodies, he is a twice-born, but my goodness, he has still a lot of egos of pride, egos of lust, egos of anger, etc. Thus, that multitude inside of him cry, “crucifixia, crucifixia, crucifixia!”
Then the examiners say, “We cannot receive him up here yet, since he is filthy! He has to go down and work with the cross and to hurt the dragon by annihilating the ego. He needs to be united with his Mary Magdalene.” This is why the Lord feels like he is abandoned, because in this physical world he finds only degeneration, nothing pleases him. We are talking about the initiate who is united to Christ. As we go anywhere on this planet, to any country, we find a lot of degeneration, a lot of nonsense. So the initiate does not want to be here, he wants to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, as his inner Jesus told him, “Be born again and you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.” But the Masters that rule the Kingdom of Heaven say, “Why would we going to put Barabbas, the demon that he carries inside, with us in heaven? He has the solar bodies, he is a twice-born, yes, but behold the man, how many defects and vices he has! No, let him die first on the cross!”
And then his Inner Lord says, “Well, we are in darkness now.” This is when the initiate says, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Thus he enters into his spiritual night. Master Samael explains in one of his books that Beethoven suffered his spiritual night, he fought almost all his life, trying to get out from it; he had a very strong temper, a lot of anger. So he was not admitted easily, even though he was receiving information and working hard in order to get out from his spiritual night.
The third hour takes place in the life of any initiate.
In the beginning, the Gods, the Elohim grant you light, experiences, to show you that the path you are undertaken is real, truthful. Thereafter, when you start working on yourself, then you realize that they will not accept you easily up there in heaven, and here in this physical world you won’t find anything that gives you satisfaction or happiness. Thus, this is how you enter into your spiritual night, which is from the sixth hour to the ninth, meaning you have to work in your Hod, in your Kama Rupa, your body of desires, in order to annihilate all desires. Then, when you annihilate your Kama Rupa within you, then they accept you inside their kingdom. But with Hod, the Kama Rupa, body of desires inside very alive, they realize that you as an individual are a Hasnamuss; so they say, “Let him die first if he wants to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.” So as you see, the cross relates to death, birth, and sacrifice.
Let us now enter into the next mystery of the cross. Master Jesus pronounced seven utterances on the cross and every utterance is a teaching related with the alchemical cross.
The Fourth Utterance
He was crucified between two thieves, one on the left and the other on the right. This is an alchemical symbol.
The thief who is crucified on the left side symbolizes those people who have Christ as an image, and who worship the cross, but that in secrecy do not follow the Lord. In esotericism, they are related to Gestas, who is the evil thief that steals the sexual energy for his animal satisfaction, even though he/she talks about Christ and the gospels, but when he/she performs the sexual act, he/she does not adore the Lord. They are fornicators.
At the right side of Christ is the good thief. The good thief is a good Gnostic who knows all of these mysteries, who says during the sexual act, “I am a thief and now is the time to steal the energy for my Lord.”
Yet the thief on the left says to Christ:
“If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.” - Luke 23:39.
This is what everybody says in this day and age. If Christ is Christ, he has to save prostitutes, homosexuals, lesbians and send them up to heaven! Yet, the thief on the right said:
“Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.” - Luke 23:39
“I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goes to law with brother and that before the unbelievers.
“Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor [evil] thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
“All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them.
“Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, said he, shall be one flesh.
“Yet he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” – 1 Corinthians 6: 5-20
Thus the good thief said unto Jesus:
“Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, Today you shall be with me in paradise.” - Luke 23:40.
Jesus said: Today! Not tomorrow! The thief on the right relates to the mind. When you are remembering yourself and living from moment to moment, you are stealing the impressions, the light, the forces of your organism in order to feed your inner Lord. If you forget yourself, then your evil thief that relates to greed, pride, and gluttony enters there and steals the energy for the satisfaction of his desires, the ego. So the initiate as a soul is always crucified in the middle with the Lord; thus, on the cross, he has to be in equilibrium by placing his right foot on the left foot, that is, if he is dealing with the goats of the left, he has to know how to not identify with their evil. If he is dealing with the sheep of the right he has to know how to deal with them too and not to be identified with their fanaticism; since the sheep on the right say: “you do not need to do that, just believe in Jesus and that is enough,” this is what they say.
Listen, one needs to be a good thief, meaning, to know how to extract the consciousness out of the ego. This is why Jesus says, “Verily I say unto you, “Today” you shall be with me in paradise.” Meaning, the good thief already conquered the Bodhichitta and therefore he will be with him in the fourth dimension, in paradise. It is not as people think, that if I believe in Jesus, I will go to heaven when I die. The Lord says to the good thief “Today,” thus, if you keep working in your consciousness today, not tomorrow, not yesterday, but today you will be with Christ in paradise. “Today” is that experience that we always associate with Samadhi, ecstasy, today, right now, not tomorrow, not yesterday. Who cares if we gain or lose yesterday? And who knows what we will gain in the future? Today is the day of the Lord. Master Samael Aun Weor wrote:
“So, philosophically speaking, we state that when malefactor souls lose their bodies, they are immersed within [Lilith] the Black Moon, given that nothing is outside of us, everything is within ourselves; the exterior is the reflection of the interior. So, when a soul leaves the body, she does not do anything but submerge within herself, here and now.
“When the chemistry of the solar rays makes the ether of the atmosphere visible, then the souls of the dead will be visible and tangible to everyone, and as a consequence, those businesses that profit under the shadow of that problematic “beyond”, will pass out of fashion.
“When Christ on Golgotha said to the good thief, “Amen, I say unto thee, today you shall be with me in paradise,” he did not take into account the concept of time, invented by men. To understand this reply given by Christ to the good thief, let us study the verses 15, 16 and 17 of chapter 11 of Revelation:
“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God. Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.”
“To understand the meaning of the supplication made by the good thief, let us study verse 42 of Luke 23:
“And he said unto Jesus: Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
The good thief said, “...come into your Kingdom.” He did not say when you “go” into your Kingdom, but when you “come” into your Kingdom. Therefore, which kingdom was the good thief addressing? The kingdom of Revelation 11”
“Saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ....We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which are, and was, and are to come; because you have taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.”
“By these Biblical verses we give exact account of the words of the good thief: “Lord, remember me when you come into thy kingdom,” and wise reply of the Master, “Amen, I say unto you, today you shall be with me in paradise.”
“This saying of the “good thief” proves that he knew about reincarnation, and that he did not ignore that the Master will return in the ethereal body to his Kingdom, the ethereal Earth of the future.
“The transition from one to another state of consciousness is what we call “time.” Yet states of consciousness follow each other in an eternal now. The good thief knew about the reincarnation of the light, and knew that Christ had to return to “his Kingdom,” the ethereal Earth, “the new Jerusalem,” and therefore he asked for help from the Master. If we do an abstraction of the concept time, “the very fact of becoming fully repented” means to be “today in Paradise.” Thus, we can come “into Paradise right now.” - Samael Aun Weor
We have to understand that this refers to something we are performing alchemically today, when we enter into the developing of the Inner Buddha, because when we enter into the kingdom of the mind, we enter into the kingdom of Buddha. Anyone that reaches the fourth initiation becomes a Buddha, an enlightened one that controls the mind.
“When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he said unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then said he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.’ – John 19: 26. The disciple's name is John, Ἰωάννης Iōannēs which is a name the sound of which must be divided into seven esoteric vowels in the following way: I.O.U.A.M.E.S. Iōannēs is the Word; Iōannēs is the son who is always born from the womb of a woman. What we want to say with the former statement is that only by practicing sexual magic can we incarnate Christ within ourselves. We will attain the Venustic Initiation only by working with the Arcanum A.Z.F. The Word, Christ, is always born from immaculate conceptions. The Fifth Utterance
So, let us study this next utterance which is related to Tiphereth. We are coming from the sephirah Netzach and going into the sephirah Tiphereth.
Tiphereth is the sephirah in the center of the Tree of Life where we find the Son of Man, John, who in Greek is Iōannēs, IOUAMES. Iōannēs hides IOUAMES, the seven esoteric vowels. Jesus is here addressing at his mother. Understand that the mother of Yeshua is not a physical mother, since we are not talking about the Master Jesus of Nazareth who came about 2,000 years ago. We are addressing the Mother of Christ, the fire that rises in the medulla, which is the womb of the Divine Mother, which is the Akash. The Akash is the feminine aspect of the solar force, polarized in a passive manner. When Akash unites with the Holy Spirit, which is the Prana, then the Lord, the third force, in the middle of the Tree of Life, the medulla, and in the heart, is born. Christ says, “Woman, behold thy Son!” meaning, mother, behold the human soul, which is your son that I am developing for thee. And then he says, “Son, behold thy Mother!”
The human soul has to feel what we call filial love, to feel that one is a child of God. The Divine Mother is the one that develops us in the medulla, that spiritual womb. She is the one that creates all of the bodies within us. She rises from the chakra Muladhara to the brain and creates all of the solar bodies, one by one. The ungrateful son does not advance on this path. And this is what Jesus is teachings us here, “Woman, behold thy Son! Son, behold thy Mother! ” There is a communion of forces here.
It comes to my mind Master Samael talking about Gurdjieff; he said, “Gurdjieff was a great master but he did not achieve self-realization because he forgot his mother. Moreover, he pronounced himself against his mother, mistaking the Kundalini for the Kundabuffer. And this is why he did not achieve the realization of his Self, because the son that forgets his mother does not advance on this path.” Master Samael said, “I almost made the same mistake.”
Master Samael said, “I found in the internal planes, the guardian of the temple who stopped me when I was entering the temple, the Gnostic Church, who said to me: ‘You among all the initiates of the Earth who presented themselves here, were the one most advanced in this temple. But now, you are stagnant.’ Samael asked, why? The guardian answered: ‘Because you forgot your mother.’ And then Master Samael said: ‘But I don't know where she is,’ given that he was thinking about his physical mother. And the Guardian said: ‘What? How does a son not know where his mother is? I am telling you for your own good.’” And then the Master Samael returned to the physical plane where he started to look for his physical mother. She had died, and he was trying to understand how he could find his mother. Days passed and suddenly a light bulb lit up in his brain and said: “Ah, the guardian was referring to my Divine Mother! Not my physical mother.” And he remembered, “Honor mother and father.” Thus, he started meditating on his Divine Mother and she appeared to him and started helping him in the annihilation of the ego. At that time, he had awakened some 60-70% of consciousness, but had become stagnate since the ego was alive, and the only one that could disintegrate that ego was the Divine Mother.
What happened to Gurdjieff, who awoke a lot, was that he pronounced himself against the Divine Mother, and that is why he became stagnated. Thus, this is good to know and to remember.
The Logos, Christ, is always united with the human soul in the heart, in Tiphereth. And there is where we work. Chokmah united with John, which is Iōannēs, IOUAMES, the word, work together with the Divine Mother. The three of them work in the cross. Remember that in the sexual act you have to pray to your Divine Mother because she is the one who is giving you birth and cleaning you. As in this physical world, when you were a baby and were pooping in your bed, your mother took you and cleaned your butt. And after that she fed you with her breast. It is the same in the spiritual world. Our Divine Mother needs to clean us, so we must not forget her. This is why Master Jesus pronounced that utterance, this teaching on the cross of sexuality.
This is why Iōannēs is the symbol of the fishman. When I say fishman, Moses comes to my mind. He was born also in the waters of Yesod, but he became a crocodile in Tiphereth; the same symbol that relates to the heart. The initiate in Tiphereth that is united with the Lord and working with the cross in Yesod. The path of the cross is the path of alchemy, Sexual Alchemy.
“It came to pass then, when John had finished speaking these words to Jesus in the midst of his disciples, that he said unto him: “Well said, John, the Virgin, who shalt rule in the kingdom of the Light.” - Pistis Sophia
“John, the Virgin, the Verb, rules in the Kingdom of the Light. I-E-O-U-A-N, Ieouan, John is [IOUAMES Ἰωάννης Iōannēs] the Word, the Army of the Voice, the collective Host of the Creator Elohim.
“In the beginning was the Word (Verb), and the Word (Verb) was with God, and the Word (Verb) was God.” (John: 1:1)
“The Army of the Creator Elohim, the Logos, the Verb, creates with the power of the Word.
“All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.” (John: 1: 3)
“The Logos sounds; this is written. The Elohim created the universe by virtue of the Verb, and with the Verb. The Army of the Voice, by virtue of [Nun, the fish] the luminous and Spermatic Fiat of the First Instant, created the universe.
“The Luminous and Spermatic Fiat of the First Instant [Nun, the fish] gave life to all that which is, has been, and will be.” - Samael Aun Weor
The Sixth Utterance
“And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha [synonym of death], that is to say, a place of a skull, they gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink....
“And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink. The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him. - Matthew 24: 34, 48, 49
“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” - John 19: 30
Let us study the next utterance which is Consumatum Est...
Somebody asked me: “Is that reed the same lance of Longinus? I said no, that reed is hold by another roman soldier. As we read,
“...one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed...”
So the soldier holds a sponge in his hand from where protrudes a long reed, which is like a cane; when he squeezes the sponge, then the vinegar rises up through the reed, and goes up into the mouth of Jesus. In other words, he is giving vinegar to Jesus who says in Latin: “Consumatum Est”, in English means “It is finished”. This relates to the sephirah Geburah, because Geburah relates to the holy work with the dragon. Remember Geburah is Neshamah, the feminine soul.
“Mary Magdalene remarkably loved the Divine Rabbi of Galilee, thus, when she, standing, leaning against a wall, heard the terrible word, “Tibo, Tibo, Tibo!” which condemned the Christ to pass through the event of Golgotha, she was filled with indescribable terror. Certain secret and marvelous passages were intentionally eliminated from the original texts [of the Bible] by scribes and doctors of the law. Certainly, it is lamentable that the Hebraic Holy Bible was so cruelly mutilated, adulterated, deformed... – Samael Aun Weor
The fires of the sephirah Geburah are the fires of the dragon in the sephirah Malkuth that rise towards Tiphereth. Thus when we disintegrate the totality of the ego, the bitter work with the dragon is finished. In the physical plane the dragon as the tempting serpent of Eden, hides within Mary Magdalene, our soul, the seven capital sins.
So, the hypocritical Pharisees took away from the gospels the mysteries of the sephirah Geburah in relation with Jesus and the sephirah Tiphereth. Thus, it is very rare to find Jesus showing his alchemical work, the sexual alchemy with Mary Magdalene.
Mary [Hebrew מרים Miriam, meaning “to raise”] is Malkah the Queen, Malkuth. Magdalene is Mag-Dalene, Mag, Magician (magician comes from the Sanskrit word Mag, Magi (various languages) "priest" or "priestess", that is, King or Queen in Malkuth-the Kingdom, which as the physical body is the vehicle of the soul that practices Sexual Magic; Mag-dale-ne, Magdal [Hebrew מגדל meaning “Tower”] a Soul-Magi who raises the sexual fire up to Binah, the top of the Tower [Pineal Gland].
Fanatics do not like the work with sexual magic. They think they can realize the Lord with celibacy. Yet, this is not possible. The alchemical work is only possible on the cross, as Master Jesus showed it with his crucifixion. This is why it is written:
“And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha [synonym of death], that is to say, a place of a skull, they gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink....”
The symbol of this is very simple. When you work with the alchemical cross, you have to pass through a process of putrefaction. What the vinegar symbolizes is putrefaction. Therefore when Jesus finished his work, he bowed his head and gave up the ghost.
Vinegar as a natural fermentation symbolizes Alchemical Fermentation, which is a two-stepped process that begins with Putrefaction, in which the matter is allowed first to rot and decompose and then to ferment or come alive again in Spirit. It symbolizes the transmutation of the particles of consciousness of the physical body into a vehicle of spiritual consciousness. This is a gradually separation of cognizant elements from the physical body into paradisiacal vehicles for the spiritual consciousness. This purification is associated with death.
In other lectures, we have taught that the sephirah Geburah is related with the sephirah Malkuth, that the force of Geburah descends into Malkuth. So when you are working with Malkuth and extracting all of the consciousness of your physicality, that consciousness goes up to Geburah, the spiritual soul. This is how you perform your honeymoon with your spiritual soul. If you ask: When the knight marries the lady and defeats the dragon, do they perform the sexual act? Yes, they perform the sexual act. But this act is a process of alchemy, transmutation, where we take all which is pure from your physicality and from your psyche, and send it up to your Being. This process is structured by different steps. That is why it is called, “Consumatum est.” To say “Consumatum est” is to experience what Jesus was doing there. Such a process is very bitter because the vinegar is mingled with gall. Did you ever taste gall? It is really very bitter, and mingled with vinegar... I personally drink diluted vinegar every morning; it is good for the body. Jesus also knows that he needs to drink that from us, but he does not like it as it is very bitter. This is related with karma, since the sephirah Geburah is related to Karma. It relates to what we have to annihilate, certain elements in the physical world, that relates to karma, here the initiate suffers a lot, he feels pain and it is more bitter than gall.
Thus, if you thought that the awakening of the consciousness is something very easy, no it is not. Listen, before you annihilate any ego related with karma, the Lords of Karma say: “Before the annihilation of that ego that he comprehended, such ego relates with something that he did in his past lives, so before its annihilation he has to first pay that karma! Thus, if he pays it, then he can annihilate it.” Thus, that is vinegar mingled with gall! Everyone that enters into this path, the path of the razor’s edge, that path of being born again, thinks that the path should be peachy. This is why the hypocritical fanatics in the Middle Ages took away all of what was related to Mary Magdalene out of the picture, in order to show thatonly by working through celibacy on ourselves without the necessity of working with the other pole can the great work be done in us; ignoring that the cross that they worshiped is the cross of a man and woman in the sexual act, the Holy Matrimony that they denied to themselves and others.
Let us read what Hermes Trismegistus taught about sexual alchemy, the cross, he said:
“The Father of that One Only Thing is the Sun, its Mother is the Moon, the Wind carried it in its belly; but its Norse is a Spirituous Earth. That One Only Thing is the Father of all things in the universe. Its power is perfect, after it had been united to Spirituous Earth.
“Separate that Spirituous Earth from the dense or crude by means of gentle heat, with much attention.
“In great measure it ascends from the Earth up to Heaven, and descends again, newborn, on the Earth, and the superior and the inferior are increased in power.
“By this thou wilt partake of the honors of the whole world. And darkness will flee from thee.” - Hermes Trismegistus
To separate the Spirit of the Earth from the dense or crude by means of a gentle heat, with much attention means not to approach the sexual act as an animal. What the man needs is just erection. That is it. Keep that cross, the vertical beam active in the horizontal, and then transmute: Gentle heat. Do not make a bonfire, because then you will be burnt. It says to separate that with much attention. “In great measure it ascends from the Earth up to Heaven, and descends again, newborn, on the Earth, and the superior and the inferior are increased in power.” This has the same meaning of what happened after when Jesus said it is finished, and cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost:
“And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.” – Matthew 27: 51-53
As in the great work Hermes said: “By this thou wilt partake of the honors of the whole world. And darkness will flee from thee.” Let us study now the last utterance.
The Seventh Utterance
“And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said: Father [Elohim], into thy hands I commend my [Ruach] Spirit: and having said thus, he breathed out [his Neshamah].” - Luke 23:46
This utterance relates to Chesed, the spirit. In order to comprehend this utterance, remember that central nervous system is the throne of the Spirit.
“And Jehovah Elohim formed Adam out of dust from Adamah and breathed into his nostrils the Neshamah Chaim [the soul from Geburah in the Tree of Life]; and Adam became a living soul [Nephesh Chaiah - the divine Shechinah]." Thus, Adam [as dust] is a threefold product of life (Nephesh), spirit (Ruach), and soul (Neshamah), by the blending and union of which he became a living spirit, a manifestation of the Divine.” - Zohar
“And unto Adam he said: “Because thou [thy brain] hast hearkened unto the voice [desire] of thy wife [thy genitalia], and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is [Adamah] the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto [Adamah] the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” - Genesis 3: 17, 19
Dust is formed by particles of many things (Hebrew דברים - Debarim). So Adam is dust, [דברים Debarim, which means both “words” and “things.” Debarim as ‘words’ means all the archetypes that returned into the ground (Adamah) because of fornication. Thus, Debarim have to return; how do they return up? They return through chastity. So let us study the sentence, since it is an alchemical sentence that we need to meditate upon in order to comprehend it. This is why Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Father.” What father is he addressing? The sephirah Kether, which is part of the Holy Trinity, since Jesus is the sephirah Chokmah. He says, ”Father, into thy hands I commend [Chesed] my spirit; and having said that, he gave up his life [his Neshamah].”
To better understand that utterance, let us read what Solomon the king wrote:
“Then shall the dust return to [Adamah] the earth as it was: and the [Ruach] Spirit shall return unto Elohim who gave it.” – Ecclesiastes 12: 7
So when Jesus pronounced on the cross,”Father in thy hands I commend my spirit,” we have to understand. It is the last process. Because he descends he goes to the sepulcher, and he has to go down into the earth, Klipoth, hell, in order to liberate all the archetypes from the dust. Solomon says, “Then shall the dust return to the earth”, but there is a Hebrew word there, על, which means “up.” Then the dust shall return up to the earth. What earth? It is not speaking of this physical earth, but the heavenly Jerusalem, thus he enters through that transmutation-transformation into Eden which is above Malkuth. It is על, up. Return up to the earth! Not to this polluted earth. “And the spirit,” which is Chesed, returns to Elohim; this means that the Spirit, Chesed, returns to join Binah Elohim. This is the union of the Spirit, the רוח Ruach of the human being with Binah as all the dust has already returned up to Eden, which is the upper earth, the heavenly Jerusalem; this is called resurrection.
So these seven utterances relate to the process of the cross, these are not performed just by believing in Jesus. This is why Isaiah 42: 5 says:
“Thus says Ha-El Iod-Havah – the God Jehovah, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; he that gives [Neshamah] breath unto the people upon it, and [Ruach] Spirit to them that walk therein.” - Isaiah 42: 5
So, to reach the level of the seventh utterance is a work of alchemy, a work with the alchemical cross. Likewise with every single utterance that Master Jesus spoke crucified on the cross, all of these utterances are related with the work of alchemy that happens after you incarnate the Messiah, the savior inside of you. All of that relate to the Gnostic mysteries of the cross.
Though Christ a thousand times in Bethlehem be born and not within thyself, thy soul will be forlorn. The Cross on Golgotha thou lookest to in vain unless within thyself it be set up again.
