Practical Spirituality
A Free Online Course
The Yoga of Awakening
The word practical means "applied, not merely theoretical." Thus, practical spirituality is something experienced and lived.
Learn how to live an essentially practical approach to religion: how to experience what is described in the scriptures, by utilizing the simple and effective approach of Yoga as taught by Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita, and Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, which applies to any religious or spiritual perspective. They teach:
- Karma Yoga: the path of work, service, and sacrifice, related to the body
- Bhakti Yoga: the path of devotion, related to the heart
- Jnana Yoga: the path of self-analysis and knowledge, related to the intellect
- Raja Yoga: the path of psychic control, the Fourth Way, related to the consciousness
This is not a course of theory, belief, supposition, guesswork, or fantasy. Instead, you will learn how to work with spiritual facts to expand your perception of reality, and transform your experience of living, by setting aside harmful and useless behaviors, and adopting behaviors that benefit yourself and others.
“Even if one is the most sinful of all sinners, one shall yet cross over the ocean of sin by the raft of Self-knowledge alone. As the blazing fire reduces wood to ashes; similarly, the fire of Self-knowledge reduces all bonds of karma to ashes...” — Krishna, Bhagavad-gita 4:36-37
