...it is necessary to learn how to pray scientifically; the one who learns to intelligently combine prayer with meditation will obtain marvelous objective results. But it is urgent to comprehend that there are different prayers and that their results are different. There are prayers which are accompanied by petitions, but not all prayers are accompanied by petitions. There are very ancient prayers which are authentic recapitulations of cosmic events and we can experience their entire content if we meditate on each word, on each phrase, with true cognizant devotion. The Pater Noster is a magical formula of immense sacerdotal power, but it is urgent to comprehend in depth and in a total manner the profound meaning of each word, of each phrase, of each supplication. The Lord’s Prayer, the Pater Noster, is a prayer or petition, a prayer to converse with our Father who is in secrecy. The Pater Noster combined with deep meditation produces marvelous objective results. The Gnostic Rituals, religious ceremonies, are authentic treatises of Occult Wisdom for the person who knows how to meditate, for those who comprehend with the heart. The one who wishes to tread the Path of the Tranquil Heart must place the prana, life, and the sexual energy in the brain, and the mind in the heart. It is urgent to learn to think with the heart, to deposit the mind within the Heart Temple. The Cross of Initiation is always received in the marvelous Temple of the Heart. - Samael Aun Weor, The Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology Throughout the great breadth of the Gnostic teachings are hundreds of prayers and magical phrases, all of which offer specific results and benefits which are discovered through direct experience. This page is not intended to be a catalog of such prayers; it is merely a reference for often-cited ones, and those which are of most immediate importance for students of all levels. It must always be remembered that any prayer or supplication to the divine is only as effective as the depth of sincerity in our heart; a prayer uttered mechanically, without any real feeling, will be cold and lifeless. A simple emotion, longing for the forgiveness of our own Spirit, will bring more results than the most fantastic or complex recitation. That said, the editors of this site hope that the prayers included below will provide fuel for the opening of your heart and Inner Mind, and the protection and guidance we need from the Divinity we long to know directly. Our Father (Pater Noster, or The Lord's Prayer)Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Hail, MaryHail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Yeshua. Hail Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, who have the sinning ‘I’, now and at the hour of the death of our defects. Amen. Apostles’ CreedI believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Gnostic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. Mathew 22:37-40
"Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[a] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
It also uses words that intimately connect "Us" to "Our" neighbor, This truly show Jesus' Genius in that this isn't intended as a communal prayer!
Mathew 6:6
"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."
