The Seven Roses

by Abraham Eleazer, Ultraltes chymisches Werk, 1760

"The Sacred Fire activates the seven magnetic centers. The Kundalini coordinates the activity of all seven chakras in a marvelous manner. We could illustrate all of this by a stalk with seven fragrant and beautiful roses. The stalk would represent the spinal column, and the seven roses would represent the seven chakras, or magnetic centers. The delicate stems of these seven roses of ardent fire are the fine threads which unite them to the spinal column." - The Perfect Matrimony

The accomplishment of the work is only possible by combining two sevens: the two rows of seven trees each. Each row represents the seven bodies of the man and the woman. The two sevens (man and woman) combine to make fourteen, the sacred Arcanum of Temperance, the mixing of the two elixirs.

By working in the earth (the farmers at bottom center) we acquire the hidden stone.

The instructor (bottom right) indicates that in order to follow in his example and cross the stream, reaching the other shore, the student must have balance in all things; we need to have our psyche in equilibrium to receive the sacred fire, and illuminate our seven igneous roses (the churches or chakras).

The three streams also indicate the three nervous systems, and how their energy is dervied from the same source as the energy which illuminates the tree of life and the chakras: that source is the sexual organs.
