Runes Kaum and Thorn

in Runes by Gnostic Instructor
The Runes Thorn and Kaum (which can also be spelled Kaun) are interrelated, as we explained in other lectures. In this lecture, we will explain how these runes act in each one of us, in relation to our physiology. As you can see, the first rune (Thorn) is made by a vertical line with a thorn. This rune is related with willpower. It is the number three from the Futharkh. You can see it appears in… Read More

What are Polygamy and Polyandry?

in Sex by Gnostic Instructor
The words polygamy and polyandry refer to a mating pattern in which an animal mates with more than one animal of the opposite sex. Among animals this is a normal sexual behavior for procreation. We who call ourselves "human beings"—but are not yet since we have not returned to the Edenic state—are actually just animals with intellect, therefore the animal tendencies remain very strong in us, and… Read More

Gnostic Teachings

The Pentagram

Written by Samael Aun Weor

The pentagram is an ancient symbol used for spiritual defense.

The Gnostic Pentagram is the human figure with four limbs, and one unique apex which is the head. The sign of the Pentagram is also called the sign of the Microcosm. It represents what the Kabbalist Rabbis of the book Zohar call the Microprosopos. When the superior point of the Pentagram is aiming upwards towards the sky, it represents the Savior of the world. - Samael Aun Weor, The Pistis Sophia Unveiled

The Pentagram expresses the dominion of the Spirit over the elements of Nature. We can command the elemental creatures which inhabit the regions of fire, air, water, and earth with this magical sign. Demons tremble and run away terrified in the presence of this powerful symbol.

Click here to learn about the meanings of the symbols.

The Pentagram with its superior ray aiming upwards forces the tenebrous ones to scatter. The Pentagram with its superior ray aiming down serves in order to call upon the tenebrous ones.

When the Pentagram is placed on the floor of the threshold (entrance) of the room, with its superior ray aiming towards the interior and its two inferior rays aiming towards the outside of the room, it does not permit the entrance of black magicians.

pentagram_manThe Pentagram is the flaming star. The Pentagram is the sign of the Word made flesh and according to the direction of its rays, it can represent God or the Devil, the Immolated Lamb or the male goat of Mendes.

When the superior ray of the Pentagram is aiming up towards the sky, it represents Christ. When the two inferior points of the Pentagram are aiming up towards the sky, it represents Satan.

The Pentagram represents the human being in its entirety. The Pentagram with its superior ray aiming upwards is the Master. The Pentagram with its superior ray aiming down and its two inferior angles aiming up, is the fallen Angel. Thus, every fallen Bodhisattva is the inverted flaming star. As a matter of fact, every initiate who allows himself to fall becomes an inverted flaming star.

The Pentagram is utilized in white magic in order to call divine beings.

The Pentagram at Home

Place the sign of the Pentagram, which is the five-pointed star, on the floor at the entrance of your bedroom. The two lower points of the star must aim towards the outside of the room and the upper point must aim towards the inside of the room. The star can be drawn with charcoal (pencil).

We should also have a framed Pentagram above the head of the bed. It is very import that the superior point is aiming towards the ceiling and that the inferior points are aiming toward the floor.

When we place it at the foot of the door of our room with the two feet pointing towards the outside, tenebrous entities do not enter into our room. On the contrary, when the Pentagram is inverted with the two feet towards the inside, it permits the entrance of the tenebrous ones.

The Pentagram may also be drawn on a very white lambskin to be kept inside the bedroom. This is how we can prevent the tenebrous ones from entering our bedroom.

We may also draw the Pentagram on glass, for this terrorizes ghosts and demons.

We must have an altar in the bedroom and on this altar there should be a Pentagram.

The Pentagram as Pendant

The best electrum is a flaming star composed of the seven metals which correspond to the seven planets. These are the following: silver for the Moon, quicksilver for Mercury, copper for Venus, gold for the Sun, iron for Mars, tin for Jupiter, and lead for Saturn. Pentagram medallions (for wearing around the neck) and rings (for wearing on the ring finger) can be manufactured.

The Pentagram in the Astral Plane

The Pentagram can be made to shine instantaneously when uttering certain secret mantras. Within the Gopalatapani and Krishna Upanishads, we have found written the mantras that have the power to instantaneously form the tremendous flaming star within the Astral Plane, the sight of which makes demons scatter in terror. These mantras are five, namely:

Klim Krishnaya Govindaya Gopijanavallabhaya Swaha

The tenebrous ones from the Eighteenth Arcanum scatter in terror, because the flaming star is instantaneously formed when vocalizing these mantras.

Pentagram pendants, posters and stickers are available fron the non-profit Gnostic Store.

Quote of the Moment

"The exterior image of a human being and the diverse circumstances that surround him are the exact result of his interior image and of his psychological processes."

- Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of the Dialectic
