El Shaddai

(Hebrew אל שדי‎) El (אל) means "god" and Shaddai (שׁדי) means "devil." Shaddai (שׁדי) derives from the verb שׁדד (shadad), meaning "to destroy," hence: אל שדי El Shaddai means "God my Destroyer."

El Shaddai, the Almighty God, the Holy Spirit, the strength of Shaddai El Chai.

  1. (Hebrew שדי) An acrostic that hides the phrase, "shomer d'latot Yisrael," which means "Guardian of the Doors of Yisrael."
