Manna

Manteia

A term from the Eleusian Mysteries referring to a state of consciousness in which the essence becomes free of the ego.

Mantra

(Sanskrit, literally "mind protection") A sacred word or sound. The use of sacred words and sounds is universal throughout all religions and mystical traditions, because the root of all creation is in the Great Breath or the Word, the Logos. "In the beginning was the Word..."

Manu

(Sanskrit) From Hindu mythology, the progenitor and lawgiver of the human race. From H.P. Blavatsky: “Who was Manu, the son of Swayambhuva? The secret doctrine tells us that this Manu was no man, but the representation of the first human races evolved with the help of the Dhyan-Chohans (Devas, Elohim) at the beginning of the first round. But we are told in his Laws (Book I. 80) that there are fourteen Manus for every Kalpa -- or interval from creation to creation -- and that in the present divine age, there have been as yet seven Manus... We are told in the Sacred Hindu scriptures that the first Manu produced six other Manus (seven primary Manus in all), and these produced in their turn each seven other Manus (Bhrigu I, 61-63) -- the production of the latter standing in the occult treatises as 7 x 7. Just as each planetary Round commences with the appearance of a ‘Root Manu’ (Dhyan Chohan) and closes with a ‘Seed-Manu,’ so a Root and a Seed Manu appear respectively at the beginning and the termination of the human period on any particular planet.”

Mara

(Sanskrit) 1. The "demon" who tempted the Buddha during the final stages of his awakening.

2. Four types of evil influences:

• a. our own ego or aggregates - self-produced psychological elements
  
• b. negative emotions (vibrations of the ego) - desire, anger, jealousy, envy, etc.
  
• c. "deva's son" sensual desires and tempations
• d. the bringer of death - ordinary death which comes mechanically and inopportunely 

Marapleicie

"During those epochs unknown to Cesar Cantu and his “Universal History,” another beautiful country existed in Asia, known as Marapleicie.  This country traded with Tikliamis and a very strong commercial competition existed between them.  Later on, the country of Marapleicie changed its name to Gobland due to the great city of Gob.  Gobland and its powerful city were swallowed up by the sands of the desert.  So, within the sands of the Gobi desert many wealthy Atlantean treasures are hidden as well as powerful machines that are unknown by the populaces of this Aryan Root Race." - Samael Aun Weor, The Kabbalah of the Mayan Mysteries

Mars

The Roman name of the God of War (Greek Ares) and the name of the red planet, the fifth planet from the Sun. Scientists say it is the fourth planet, but the fourth planet was destroyed, and its remains are found in the asteroid belt between the Earth and Mars.

As a planetary influence, Mars is related to: "Wars, military matters, police matters, quarrels, leaders, works related to money, big businesses, matters related with judges, and with tribunals, etc." - Samael Aun Weor, Manual of Practical Magic.  Mars is associated with the metal iron and the color red. The planet and the ray (energetic influence) of Mars are governed by the Logos Samael.

Marut

(Sanskrit) Literally, "wind."

1. An alternate name of Vayu, the god of the wind or air.

2. In the Vedas, the word is a reference to "the storm gods" or gods of the wind, who symbolize initiates who have entered initiation but still have ego, and can also be called Hanasmussen. They are Gods, but not perfect. Marut is a synonym of Deva or Demigod.

Mary Magdalene

Mag-dale-ne:

1. Mag, Magi (various languages) "priest" or "priestess" 

2. Dalene - Dalan "valley," preserved from extinction in north of England by Norse infl. Akin to words for "bow" (v.), probably through the notion of a bend in the ground."

Mag-dalene means therefore: a Priestess Adept from other lands or valleys: a white priestess wife.

Mary Magdalene was the priestess-spouse of Jesus of Nazareth, and is a great Gnostic Initiate.

Master

Like many terms related to spirituality, this one is grossly misunderstood. Although many people claim to be "masters," the truth is that the terrestrial person is only a terrestrial person. The only one who can be a Master is the Innermost, Atman, the Father, Chesed.

"And, behold, one came and said unto [Jesus], Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God." - Matthew 19

"The value of the human person which is the intellectual animal called human being is less than the ash of a cigarette. However, the fools feel themselves to be giants. Master atom

“The mental body has an atomic nucleus which serves as its base. This nucleus is the Master Atom of the mind. This Master Atom contains the whole wisdom of Nature. Whosoever learns how to be in communication with this atom through meditation will be taught and instructed in the cosmic wisdom, since this atom is a sage. This Master Atom resides in our seminal system. Materialist

In the esoteric sciences, a “materialist” is one who only believes in what his five senses can tell him, thus he relies exclusively on the data of the sensory, third dimensional world. This type of person has no understanding of the superior senses or the superior dimensions, and thus is limited to what he can perceive physically. As C.W. Leadbeter said, “It is one of the commonest of mistakes to consider that the limit of our power of perception is also the limit of all there is to see.”

Matrimony

from L. matrimonium "wedlock, marriage," from matrem (nom. mater) "mother" + -monium, suffix signifying "action, state, condition." Thus, matrimony means "a state or condition from which the Divine Mother can act."

Matripadma

(Sanskrit) The mother-lotus; the womb of nature.

Maya

(Sanskrit, literally "appearance, illusion, deception") Can indicate 1) the illusory nature of existence, 2) the womb of the Divine Mother, or 3) the Divine Mother Herself.

Meditation

1. The Gnostic must first attain the ability to stop the course of his thoughts, the capacity to not think.  Indeed, only the one who achieves that capacity will hear the Voice of the Silence.

2. When the Gnostic disciple attains the capacity to not think, then he must learn to concentrate his thoughts on only one thing. 

3. The third step is correct meditation.  This brings the first flashes of the new consciousness into the mind.

Melchisedec

(Alternatively, Malkhi-tzedek, Malki Tzedek, or Melchisedek, which means "King of Justice or Virtue) See Gen. 14:18-20, Ps. 110:4, and Epistle to the Hebrews, ch. 7.

"Melchisedec is the planetary Genie of the Earth, of whom Jesus, the great Kabir, gave testimony. Melchisedec is the Great Receiver of the Cosmic Light. Melchisedec has a physical body. Mem

[םמ] The thirteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet, it symbolizes the element water (מים MayiM). Its Kabbalistic value is 40. Mem is one of the three mother letters (אמש).

Mem is the fountain of Divine Wisdom (Chokmah). Just as the waters of the well of Jacob (spring) ascend from its unknowable subterranean sources to unveil the mysteries of the tree of life on earth (Malkuth), likewise the fountain of Schamayim, the Superior Waters in Daath, unveil the wisdom (Chokmah) that express the power “Iod” or the flow of light from the Ain Soph.

Mental Body

One of the seven bodies of the human being. Related to Netzach, the seventh sephirah of the Tree of Life; corresponds to the fifth dimension.

Mental World

Related to Netzach, the seventh sephirah of the Tree of Life; corresponds to the fifth dimension.

Mercabah

(Hebrew) Literally, “chariot.” Refers to the Soul the Initiate must build.

Mercury

A symbol with many levels of meaning.

"Mercury is Buddha, the Genie or God who is situated between the Sun and the Moon. He is the perpetual companion of the Sun of Wisdom. In Greek Mythology, Mercury displayed wings in order to express how he assisted the Sun on its sidereal course. Mercury was called Nuncio and Wolf of the Sun: Solaris Luminis Particeps. “He was the chief and the evoker of the souls, the Kabir and Hierophant.” Virgil describes Mercury holding the Caduceus or Hammer of two serpents in order to evoke to a new life those unhappy souls who were precipitated into the ORCO of classic Greeks, the Christian Limbo, TUM VIRGAM CAPIT, HAC ANIMAS ILLE EVOCAT ORCO, with the purpose of having them enter into the celestial militia." - Samael Aun Weor, The Doomed Aryan Race

1) the first planet of the esoteric order and the closest to the Sun-Christ. Psychologically, Mercury influences the mind and is ruled by Raphael. 2) Mercury (Hermes) the God is the companion of the sun and the fastest of the gods. He displays radiant wings of fire to express that he was helping the Christ-Sun in its eternal course. Symbolized in Greek mythology by hare-hunting dogs or guardian dogs of celestial cattle, drinking from the very pure wells of occult wisdom. Also known as Hermes-Anubis or as the Good Inspirator, Agathodaemon. Emperor Julian prayed every night to the occult Sun (Christ) through the intercession of mercury.

3) Alchemically: "the metallic soul of the sperm (sperm or semen refers to sexual energy in men and women)." The sperm of all metals. The Spirit of Alchemy. Types of Mercury:

“Firstly, there is brute Mercury, which means the Exiohehari, or sacred sperm.

“Second, there is the metallic soul of the sperm, which is the result of the transmutation of the sexual libido (the sperm).  Therefore, this metallic soul is creative energy that ascends through the ganglionic spinal cords to the brain.

Messiah

Also Mashiach (Aramaic משיחא and Hebrew משיח) Literally, "anointed one." A reference to the savior who will redeem the righteous ones. Every religion claims access to the true Messiah, yet all misunderstand the symbol, which in reality refers to the force or energy of Christ (Avalokitesvara, Quetzalcoatl, Vishnu, etc) that redeems the consciousness through initiation and psychological transformation. Metatron

or Metraton (Hebrew מטטרון or מיטטרון) A very high angel who brought the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet and the Tarot to humanity. The Zohar explains that he is often referred to as "the watchman" or "the youth."

Michael

(Hebrew מיכאל) An important angel in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. One of the seven primary intelligences of our solar system.

"Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me... But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth, and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince." Daniel 10:18-21

"And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon." - Revelation 12:7
