Meditation on the breath

0
Greetings,

The Buddha Guatama gave us a very simple meditation technique, which is to focus our attention on the breathing process, we know from Gnosis that if we focus on this process we begin transmuting our sexual force, is this true? That if we simply observe the breath as in the meditation method that the Buddha gave to us, we are also transmuting the sexual energy to some degree?

Thanks.

The practice your reffering to is called Anapana and is a concentration practice where you observe the breath as it enters the nose and exsists the nose. Pranayama is a different practice where you inhale and imagine the sexual energy rising up the channels of Ida and Pingala as you pray to your divine mother to raise the sexual energy and concentrate on the energy going up to the root of the nose, filling the brain with energy, and then on the exhale going down to the heart.

Both forms of breathing are good for meditation. Pranayama your concentration is more on the sexual energy being transmuted and anapana your concentration is more on your breath.
