And I reply:

Hello.

I appreciate you writing out what
most people think is the case with the Matrix films.
Your description accurately conveys what is commonly
given as a "Gnostic" interpretation of that film.

Now, it is important to look deeper and penetrate into
the undercurrent, because it is there that one will
find the corruption. Because remember, no one will
eat rotten food, for it is clear that it is no good.
But the best poisons cannot be tasted or smelled; they
are subtle, and work insidiously to devastate the one
who ingests it. This is equally true of poisonous
ideas.

The best way to destroy an enemy is to use his own
weapons against him. Therefore, the best way to
sabotage Gnosis is to use Gnosis itself.

That is why the overall structure and theme of the
film seems so "Gnostic." This is a conscious effort:
to take Gnostic ideas, structures, and patterns, and
then rework them. How else did the Roman Catholic
Church come to be? By the same method. Little by
little, over centuries, the changes are made.

Just so, The Matrix is a subtle perversion of
essential truths. I do not dispute the themes or
obvious symbols present in the films. However, what I
do question is this:

1. Violence. War and battle is a part of Gnosis; The
Mahabarata must be fought by every Initiate. However,
it is another thing to stimulate the animal mind
through grotesque, extreme and very sensual violence.
This is a crime.

2. Lack of Divinity. God plays no role in these
films. It is all up to the "man." There is no Inner
Being, no respect for the Divine, no humility before
the Creator, no Love or respect for the Superior
Intelligences. (BTW, if Morpheus was the Being, then
he would never lose Faith., But the Morpheus character
(who is the Greek God of Sleep, by the way) does lose
faith.)

3. Lack of Sanctity. There is no need for "Neo" to
destroy his Pride, his Lust, his Vanity, his envy; in
fact, these are encouraged by the film, and he is
driven to use the "courage of a beast" in order to
accomplish his goals. This courage is founded in
Self-will, rather than the will of the Divine. This
is exactly what Samael Aun Weor describes in
Revolution of Beelzebub, where he demonstrates that
the initiations in the black lodge do not require any
moral progress: they only require the courage of the
beast to overcome physical circumstances. This is
what Neo is always doing: using his Self-will. On the
contrary, initiations of the White Lodge always
require supreme repentance of the ego in question,
humility and the death of each self-willed ego. Neo
never demonstrates such qualities, nor does our
society encourage them. Things are quite the opposite
these days.

4. Desire for Sensation. All of the films display a
running theme of sensation as a measure of progress or
success, but none more vividly than the 3rd. In this
film, the inhabitants of "Zion" have a giant orgy
before the "big battle." This is supposed to be the
symbol of the Celestial Jerusalem! If this does not
demonstrate the degenerated nature of these films,
then I do not know what else could be more clear.
Likewise, in the same film, one of Neo's "opponents"
uses desire for sensation to enslave others (the cake
scene). This is a clear manipulation on the part of
the filmmakers, who are demonstrating the powers of
black magic to manipulate others. No White Magician
would ever show how to do such a thing.

5. Tantrism. The root postulate of black tantra is
that the orgasm is a means to Realization. This film
supports that claim, and it is shown quite clearly in
the 3rd film.

And if this does not convince you, then how could this
gentleman make a positive, truly Gnostic movie:

"As you may know Larry Wachowski (one of the directors
of the Matrix trilogy) is probably transsexual (and
probably plans to undergo a transgender operation).
Thus the preference for leather and latex (in the
movies). And thus the story about domination and
control. In fact 'Matrix' could be a cousin word of
'Latex', 'Dominatrix' and 'TransX'.

"Here is what Jake Miller has to say (Jake Miller is a
female-to-male transsexual (after a sex-change), and a
companion of Larry Wachowski at the Matrix 1 premiere
in Los Angeles):

"Jake Miller: "[Larry Wachowski] is obsessed with
Marilyn Monroe and likes to wear a blonde wig, pink
dresses and stiletto heels prior to being punished by
his mistress and acting as her slave.... [Larry] has
been cross-dressing for years and everybody knows
it... When Larry walked down the red carpet... he was
probably wearing a bra and panties under his suit"

"On the Matrix set, Larry was visited (for weeks) by
Karin Winslow (aka Ilsa Strix, wrongly called Ilsa
Stix). The Mirror (a British tabloid) calls her a
"well-known sado-masochistic dominatrix". Karin
Winslow seems to have become the girl-friend of Larry
Wachowski (who wants to be called Lana Wachowski?)."

"He who has an ear to hear, let him hear..."

I have spent enough time on this. I know that there
are plenty of people who are too much in love with
these movies to see through them, but perhaps someone
will take their DVD and throw it away for the trash
that it is.

Best regards.

Remember:
"Gnosis is lived upon facts,
withers away in abstractions,
and is difficult to find even in the noblest of thoughts."
