Today, we are going to explain the Bodhichitta in accordance with the Christian Gospels, according to the Bible, as gnostically, we always state, Buddhism and Christianity complement each other. In order to profoundly delve into the Bodhichitta in relation with Christianity, we have to go into Kabbalah, since Kabbalah is the root, the source of Christianity. So, we have to address the Hebrew language, which is the language that Kabbalistically explains the Old and New Testament. Since Jesus and his first disciples were Jews, Rabbis or Masters Kabbalists, they delivered the Christic doctrine in the kabbalistic way; although in order to explain Buddhism we often utilize Sanskrit and other ancient languages. Thus, when arriving at the source of Bodhichitta, Kabbalistically we arrive at the Sephira Yesod, this, in order to explain the Buddhist doctrine. In this lecture, we are continuing or extending the explanation that we gave in relation to Malkuth of the Epiphany of Christ (which is the manifestation of Avalokiteshvara, the manifestation of Wisdom, or what in Kabbalah is called Chokmah), the manifestation of that force which is Christ in the Bodhisattva; yet, in order for this Bodhi to enter into the Sattva, as we previously stated, we have to build the Bodhichitta, which is a Buddhist term.
Remember that the great Kabbalist Paul of Tarsis states in the Gospels:
So, to have the mind of the Lord is to have that CHITTA, the Bodhichitta, which in the Bible is symbolized by Elijah or ELIAO in Hebrew. We are not going to explain about אליהו Elijah or the prophet Eliao himself, but we are going to explain Elijah directly related to our psyche. Every personage that you find - whether in Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, etc. - is always a symbol; even though the personage existed, understand that they symbolize something within our psyche, within our true selves. This is precisely the point when examining the Gospels. Elijah the Prophet symbolizes the forces of the solar energy that we have to manage. Remember that in Greek, Elijah, Eliao, is Elios (Helios), the Sun, the solar force. So here, when we refer to Elijah or Eliao, we are referring to Helios the sun, which is not a person. We are referring directly to the solar energy that we have to learn how to handle and manage in our body. If I am emphasizing Elijah or Eliao, it is because in the Gospels, as well as in the Old Testament, it is written that it is necessary for Elijah to come before the Messiah. The Messiah is the Bodhisattva and Elijah is the Bodhichitta. Elijah represents the completely developed solar mind, that solar mind which is utilized by the Spirit.Remember that we stated in other lectures that the Hebrew mantra in order to be in touch with Kether, the first Sephira, is JAH. Here you find the famous word from the Hebrew language: hallelujah - and many other names of the Hebrew language that always point to Kether, JAH (-iah). Among the Prophets: Zachariah, Isaiah, etc. and of course Elijah. This name means: my God is JAH, which in Hebrew is אליהו ELIAO. If you observe you notice that אל EL (Aleph, Lamed) is God and after that we have יהו IAO (Iod, Hei, Vav), which represents the first triangle of the Tree of Life: Kether, Chokmah, and Binah, which in Christianity is called the Holy Tri-Unity or the Trinity. So this God JAH or EL-IAO represents the three primary forces that express themselves through the Solar energy, the solar force. This is of course HELIOS. That is why when we refer to Christ we always refer to the solar force, because Christ is not a person but an energy that can transform anyone. But in the beginning, this Christ, this force, expresses itself as ELIAO or אליהו Elijah, which must come first into our psyche. This solar light is placed in the fifth dimension, in the atmosphere of the planet, of any planet. This is what many Kabbalists call the Heavenly Dragon, the astral light, INRI. In Kabbalah, esotericism, we know that there is a Being who controls the astral light and who is related with the planet Venus, or better if we say, the positive ray of the planet Venus and this is the Angel Hanael.
This Hanael or Anael is the same Eros of Greek Mythology, Cupid, the forces of the astral light that coagulate in the sexual force (semen), in the world of Yesod (sex). That is why Anael is the angel of love. His opposite is Lilith, who is related with hatred, lust, and all perversion of sexuality. In order for us to be in direct contact with the solar light, with the astral light, we have to know the mysteries of love. This is precisely the point here because the mysteries of love are related with the Sephira Yesod, Eden, the fourth dimension, where we find the two mysterious trees described in the Book of Genesis, which is a book of alchemy: The Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life. The Tree of Knowledge is the Tree of the Science of Good and Evil that is related with the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew brought the Gospel in accordance with science. We are talking about the superlative science of the Being, which we have to develop and study. The science of good and evil is nothing but the Tree of Knowledge (Daath), or the way in which we have to manage the sexual energy, as the speaker of the previous lecture explained: tantra or tantrism.
So from Yesod, which symbolizes the sexual glands of man or woman, we have the two polarities of the Tree of Knowledge, Adam and Eve, or Yin and Yang, Od and Ob, the two polarities of the sexual force that always are divided in the world of Yesod. Since the World of Yesod is in the fourth dimension, it is directly related with the vital body. Remember that the superior part of the physical body is the vital body. This vital body or ethereal body is the life foundation of the physical body; this is why it is precisely related with the sexual organs and it is located within the fourth dimension. From the polarity, Adam and Eve in Yesod, emerges the physical body. If you observe and study the Bible you find that CHAVA, EVE, is the mother of the living. It refers to the sexual force, the sexual organs, from which all this physical world emerges. This is why kabbalistically, alchemically, it is stated that we are children of Adam and Eve. This is true, if we understand that Adam and Eve symbolize the two testicles, the two ovaries, the two polarities. When we unite these two polarities of Yesod, Adam and Eve in the sexual act, then we find that the creation of Malkuth is the outcome of it. This is what commonly everybody knows: the physical body is the outcome of Adam and Eve; it is the outcome of the union of the sexual organs of our father and mother. Symbolically speaking, since the physical body develops within the womb of our mother, that womb represents the same Eden, the fourth dimension. Thus, it is precisely in Eden where that particle of the soul, that in Buddhism is called Buddhata, descends in the very moment when the sperm enters the ovum, in the very moment when Adam and Eve are knowing each other, as the Bible explains in Genesis 4:1: “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived,” So the Buddhata is that gracious part of the Being which comes from above, that comes from the macrocosmos. That is what we can call Hanael, or the part of God that descends, HANA - the gracious part of God entering into the body. And from that element, which enters into the body, is how the Tree of Life develops, because it is the Monad, the Spirit, EL in Hebrew, who controls the development of that body in the womb of our mother. That is why it is symbolically written in the Gospel of Luke (which is related with the Gospel of the earth), how Elizabeth, who symbolizes the Monad, has in her womb a child, who is John the Baptist, who is going to be the Bodhichitta, in accordance with Christianity. John the Baptist, the reincarnation of Elijah, is the one who prepares the way of the Lord. We have to study these symbols carefully in order to comprehend how they relate to us. This is what is important. Those Masters came in the past. They came to deliver their message, their mission. That was it. Now we have to do what they taught us. When the physical body is done, created in the womb of our mother, then it comes out, and then you have an outcome, a life, a body which has its roots in the spinal column. So this physical body has its roots in the spinal medulla. From there emanate all the nervous systems that control all of the physical body. That is why the Tree of Life emerges also from the roots of the Tree of Knowledge. It is said that both Trees compliment one another. One cannot talk about the Tree of Life without talking about the Tree of Knowledge, because they share their roots in Yesod, which is “the Foundation.” So of course, you know already that the development of the physical body depends upon the sexual force that also develops in our sexual glands during different periods of time, which is already explained in other lectures. When we know the Science of Good and Evil, the Science of the Tree of Knowledge, then we want to develop this Essence, this Buddha, which we have within, which is the Buddhata, the Essence, because that is the purpose of giving us this physical body, in order for us to develop all of the bodies related with the Tree of Life, which are symbolized by the ten Sephiroth. We need to know the science of transmutation because without the science of transmutation we cannot develop the Bodhichitta, we cannot develop that John the Baptist, because in this Sephira is where we find the mystery of Baptism. Yes, Yesod is related with the waters of Baptism. Many religions celebrate that symbolic baptism in different ways, always with water. Regrettably, when they already have their physical body developed with all its energies, with all its forces circulating in it, they don’t practically perform the Yesod transmutation; they do not celebrate that baptism, which was symbolically experienced in their given religion. In Yesod, we find that John the Baptist appears in the Gospel of Mathew teaching the science of the Tree of Knowledge. You see that he is baptizing in the Jordan. This is a symbolic way in order to tell us that he is delivering to humanity the knowledge, the doctrine of the sexual transmutation of the Sajaha Maithuna. He is baptizing with waters. He is delivering the knowledge; understand that the waters of baptism are inside everybody, within their sexual energy. Behold here this name, because it is written that John the Baptist was the reincarnation of אליהו Elijah. You must understand that Elijah symbolizes Helios, the solar force, and that the solar force enters into the astral atmosphere, into the earth, and then into our organism through what we eat, drink, breathe, etc, because that astral force, that solar light, is everywhere in the four elements. So then you find that JAH, which is the God of Elijah, who represents the three primary forces that we explained, is precisely in the very beginning of the word or the name of John in Hebrew. Johanan is the name, but it is really JAH-hanan. That is precisely the grace of JAH, or in other words, the outcome of JAH is incarnated there in John. This is how it is hidden in the words. אלי הו ELI-JAH, the God יהו JAH, IAO, the Trinity, is hidden within JAH-hanan, John. But in order to become a JAH-hanan, one needs to create the vehicles for this JAH or IAO, the three primary forces. We need to create an astral body, a mental body, and a causal body, which in Theosophy are called the astral body, the inferior mind or manas, and the causal body, which is called the superior manas. These are called in Greek the famous To Soma Psuchikon. Like “psyche,” the P is silent. To Soma in Greek means “the body.” Psuch comes from psyche and ikon means “image.” The image of what? To Soma Psuchikon is precisely that psychic body or soul body that has to emerge from the waters. The Ikon is called in Hebrew Tzalem or image. In other words, the image of JAH, which is Kether, and is symbolized by the letter Yod, which means phallus, esoterically speaking; that image is in the seed, in the sexual organs, in Yesod. So from Yesod there has to emerge Elijah, the God JAH, the forces of ELIAO, in the different steps, in order for the reincarnation of that Elijah, ELIAO to be in the earth. This reincarnation of Elijah (the God JAH) can happen within anyone on the earth. Elijah symbolizes the Bodhichitta that has to be created. That Bodhichita emerges before the creation of the Mercurial bodies, or the astral, mental, and causal bodies, because To Soma Psuchikon is related with Yesod. It is in Yesod when we start developing the consciousness by taking care of the sexual seed, or the Tzalem of God, or the Icon of God. This is something that we have to comprehend because no one understands about To Soma Psuchikon. This is “the body of the soul” that is precisely mentioned in a passage from the Bible, given by the great Kabbalist, Paul of Tarsus, Master Hilarion. He said:
So we are talking here about the first man, the living soul, To Soma Psuchikon that emerges from the transmutations of the sexual energy, because the Tree of Life is related with that psyche. When we enter into these studies we have to develop the Tree of Life. We don’t have to fall into the mistake of many organizations that think that they have already developed all of the Tree of Life within. No. The only part that we have now is the physical body, because it is the outcome of the Tree of Knowledge. Anything in this universe is the outcome of Daath, the Tree of Knowledge, the Tree of Science, of the two polarities, whether they express themselves in the human body, or in the animal body, or in the plant body, or in the mineral body, in the universe, in the space. It is always the two forces, the two polarities, positive and negative, that create. That is what we call the energy of the Holy Spirit that expresses in two polarities. So the physical body is the outcome of sex. No one can deny that. We were created in the sexual act. This body is a gift that nature gives us. Within it we live as “Hana” (grace). That is why when you see a newborn baby in a newborn body you only see Hana. That is why the angel Hanael is symbolized by an innocent creature, because it is the only innocent element that we have within, the Essence, which expresses in the moment that we are born. This is Hana, the Essence, the Buddhata, the part of Buddha that has to grow in order for that element to grow into an enlightened being like Buddha, like a prophet, in order to become a JAH-hanan, because Hana - the gracious element - is there. But in order for it to become a JAH-hanan, you have to know the science of good and evil, the science of transmutation. And that is what is hidden in that passage where it says that Elizabeth is praying to have a child. Elizabeth is the Monad, the Spirit of each one of us, who wants to have a child. That child has to be made in the image of Elizabeth, which is the Monad. Johanan is the image of JAH, the grace of JAH. Johanan, John the Baptist, appears in the Gospels before the Bodhisattva, not after. Of course, we have to study the science of Johanan, the science of Elijah, because we want ELIAO, Elijah, to emerge, to surge from within our consciousness. In other words, we have to develop our own particular, individual Elijah, as we have to develop our own particular Jesus. ELIAO (Elijah) incarnated in any human is JAH-hanan. This is precisely the mistake of many people who do not understand the Scriptures. They want to see the prophet Elijah again in the same way. But they do not understand that Elijah is an AEON, an AEON, that expresses itself in many ways, through many humans. Any Avatar first develops the ELIAO within, which is the solar mind, the solar Chitta, the Bodhichitta, the completely developed Bodhichitta that is always working under the service of his own particular individual God (Jah). So the Astral body is a soul body. In many books, in many lectures, we explain that we have to create the electronic bodies with electrons, with solar energy. We say “solar bodies, electronic bodies.” Now we say “psychic bodies or soul bodies.” That human being that Genesis speaks of is the soul. The physical body is only a vehicle. When people think that the human being is made in the image of God they are always referring to the physical body and think, therefore, that God is like us. They don’t understand that God has no form. God is abstract but takes any form He wishes. The Tree of Life (which is precisely the Being) is represented by the ten Sephiroth: Ten manifestations through four worlds of that which we call God. That is why we say that God is the Multiple Perfect Unity. To grasp this is to understand your own self. It is easy to see that the physical body is made of many units. You see one unit but it has many organs. Each organ is made of many cells. Each cell is made of many molecules and one molecule for many atoms. If we disintegrate an atom, we liberate energy. You see there the multiplicity within one unity, which is the physical body. If we think in that way, we understand that God is the same, is many, but expresses as one, as three, as seven, as twelve, as twenty-four, Kabbalistically speaking, in different ways. So to have the image of God is not physical. To have that image is to be the Microcosmos of the Macrocosmos, and that is the Bodhichitta: to reflect the universe in your psyche. That is an image of God because God is everywhere. But if we ignorantly think that God is seated there in the clouds on a throne of tyranny, then it is wrong; if we want to physically have the image of that idol - this is why when a Gnostic is asked “Do you believe in that God?” we answer, “No, we do not believe in that God,” because that God, that idol, does not exist. God does not have form. We have to understand what God is and not be deluded, since it is everywhere as the same Absolute. Are we His image or Its image? That is the question. Understand that such an image is precisely what has to emerge from Yesod - His image. His IKON as we say in Greek: TO SOMA PSUCHIKON, the soul image of God, this is what we have to create within. This is what we Gnostics are interested in: to create the image of God within. And this is a matter of permutation through transmutation; because what people have within their psyche is not the image of God. It is enough to sit down and observe our mind in order to see that ELIAO is not there, the Bodhichitta is not there. The Bodhichitta is the image of God that emerges through transmutation in Yesod. For this, we have to drive that soul image or Icon and create a body in the astral world, which people call astral body and that many esotericists mistake with the Kama Rupa, the body of desires, which any animal has. Above that solar soul body in the astral world, we have to create a mental solar body. That mental solar body is also soul body and that soul body is represented by an angel in accordance with the Book of Daniel, chapter 3:13-25, 28, which states that three men are placed in the fire, by the rage and fury of Nebuchadnezzar the king:
Thus, the fourth person that appeared, the fourth man, is like an angel. This is the mental solar body that we have to create. We have to create that angel within. Above that, we have to create the causal body. That causal body is what the Bible calls in the Old and New Testament “the Son of Man.” That Son of Man is the causal body, the superior mind. It is a superior mind when we talk about the Nous mind, the Chitta. So this Bodhichitta begins from Yesod and ends in Tiphereth, that culminates in the creation of all the bodies. In the past, it was required that the Bodhichitta be developed before the bodies were created. In other words, the Masters demanded that the disciple awaken the consciousness, to have the Bodhichitta completely developed in Yesod, this in order to develop it in Hod, the level above, and Netzach, another level, and Tiphereth, another level, in order to make the JAH-hanan completely done. Let me give you an example of how this Bodhichitta developed as a seed in order to reach more levels: Paramahansa Yogananda. He developed that Bodhichitta and he really sacrificed himself for humanity. Unfortunately, he only developed that in Yesod. He did not go further. The whole Bodhichitta has to be developed in the astral (in Hod), in Netzach, and in Tiphereth, in the three worlds, in order to be complete. Of course, Yogananda is now ready in order to create the Mercurial bodies. In this day and age, since we have no time to wait for the people to awaken the Bodhichitta, the consciousness, in order to create the Mercurial bodies, we are delivering the knowledge in order for them to start creating; but unfortunately, with this development, if we do not develop the Bodhichitta completely, that Hana does not become JAH-hanan, but instead the contrary, a Hanasmuss. You see the same word there – hana, that gracious element which is the consciousness – continues bottled up in the “muss,” which in this case we will take the English explanation for it (a state of disorder; a mess), which is the animal aspect of us. This is the precisely what you have to see in the word Hanasmuss. Yet, always in JAH-hanan, the word Hanan means gracious, thus, JAH-hanan or Johanan means the graciousness of JAH. Of course, this is someone who is born like that with the Mercurial bodies already created, and that has to disintegrate the ego; because we always talk in different lectures about fallen Bodhisattvas, in other words, those beings who became Bodhisattvas but fell, and the Bodhichitta, the auric embryo, became bottled up within their ego. But let me tell you one thing: when an angel falls who has the Bodhichitta already developed and is a Bodhisattva (which means a vehicle of Chokmah, of Christ), he never loses that Bodhichitta, he never loses that Auric embryo, because that is never lost, it is always there; but it becomes trapped, bottled up within the animal element, within the ego, and that is the problem. That is why any Bodhisattva has the ability to bring the knowledge (Daath), because he already did it. He is fallen, but it is already there because the Monad received it. Thus, he has to repeat it again. Anyone who begins on this path has to first develop the Bodhichitta. That is why it is good that the students start with the annihilation of their ego, in order to develop their consciousness as Yogananda did; but not to fall into the mistake in thinking this is enough, because in order to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, into the superior parts of the Sephiroth of the Tree of Life, we need to be born again. That birth is not by theory, or as people think by believing in Jesus, or believing in certain scriptures. Understand that no one can be born just by believing. If we are in this physical world, it is because our father and mother had coitus, a sexual act. From that coitus, the physical body - within which we are right now - emerged. That is the bottom part of the Tree of Life that we have. From the forces of Malkuth, the physical body, from its sexual force, which is Daath, the Tree of Knowledge, we start learning the science of good and evil, the science of transmutation, the science of JAH-hanan, and we start baptizing ourselves with that water, if we are married. Thus, by taking advantage of the sexual force between man and woman we create the other bodies inside. Understand that what we create inside is psyche, soul. It is Adam, or what is called the First Adam, a living soul. And that Adam, living soul, is always emerging from the Tree of Knowledge because the root of the Tree of Knowledge is in Yesod and the beginning of the Tree of Life is Yesod. From Yesod emerges Malkuth. From Yesod emerges Hod, Netzach, and all the other Sephiroth. This is why Daath in the Tree of Life is below JAH (Kether-J, Chokmah-A, Binah-H), because when we are reaching the level of Chesed, when through initiation, when through the science of JAH-hanan we transmute the energies seven times, then we enlighten each one of the seven bodies of the true man, because the true man is Chesed with all the bodies (Sephiroth) below JAH. We always state that JAH-hanan or John is a word that can be broken down into seven vowels: I.E.O.U.A.M.S. That is how we break down the word John, which symbolizes the completely created man, the outcome of the Tzalem of God, not only in the physical world, but in the vital world, in the astral world, etc. When you study the Book of Ezekiel, it talks about the four Cherubim, which in the previous lectures we explained are related with the Sphinx: The Cherub with the face of an eagle, the Cherub with the face of a lion, the Cherub with the face of a bull, and the Cherub with the face of a man.
Kabel, Kabbalah, means “to receive” in Hebrew. Thus, a real Kabbalist is the one who is receiving when practicing the knowledge (Daath, Gnosis). This is how you as a Kabbalist enter in Daath and then develop that JAH-hanan within you with the science of Matthiah. You see how everything is related and given there in accordance with the science and doctrine of Kabbalah and the Hebrew language. The Hebrew language is related with wisdom (Chokmah) when you take advantage of (Daath) the science of good and evil. Sanskrit is also related with wisdom (Buddhi). Through all those languages is how the Masters show the meaning of the doctrine for the Bodhichitta. Many people speak Hebrew and speak Sanskrit but they are not wise. Likewise, understand that when the Gospels talks about the Jews, for us the Gnostics, a Jew is someone who has the astral, mental, and causal bodies created within; that is a Jew; because he or she is a Jew through JAH – Judah – the lion, the solar force. So to become a Jew is to become a Buddha, a Buddhist, to become a Christian, a true element, a Bodhichitta, in other words. That is why the Book of Revelation chapter 2:9 states:
So, there are many people who say they are a Jew. Listen: in order to be a Jew you have to create all of the Sephiroth within, you have to emerge from Yesod with the Tree of Life inside of you. Anyone can memorize the Tree of Life and all the Kabbalah, but to develop that within, that is another thing. That is a matter of practice. This psyche (Psuchikon), the Bodhichitta, ELIAO, is someone who delivers himself with a lot of zeal for his Being, the zeal of Elijah, in other words. If you read the story of Elijah you see that he has a little zeal towards JAH. Elijah means “my God is JAH” – is IAO, everything is going inside not outside, always towards your psyche, towards your Being because you want to become a vehicle of the Lord. But in order for the Lord to descend, in order for the Messiah to enter into your body, Elijah has to come first and this is precisely what many students, many esotericists miss. This is not a matter of, “Oh I am going to believe in John the Baptist first and then in Jesus.” No! This is a matter of practicing the science of John the Baptist. John the Baptist was the one who suffered the decapitation. That is why in Gnosticism we call this decapitation “the Buddhist annihilation” or the Buddhist decapitation. The decapitation of John the Baptist has to be suffered seven times by any Initiate; thus, every time that the energy of the Kundalini or the fire of the Holy Ghost passes through the neck in any initiation, the initiate internally suffers the decapitation of John the Baptist; this means that he is leaving his mundane mind to the world and developing his own Elijah within. So you have to be decapitated seven times internally, psychologically, in order to become a Bodhichitta. This is how you have to understand what is written in the Book of Luke that after six months when the Angel Gabriel appears to Mary, John was already there in the womb of Elizabeth. This is very symbolic. This is not about six little months. Six is the Arcanum of Indecision, that human soul, that psyche which in the beginning is sunk into animal elements and is between the virgin and the whore. We explained in other lectures that the virgin or the whore rely precisely on the way in which we manage our physical bodies. When we enter into these studies we discover our own matter is sinful, it is a whore in other words, it is polluted, we are children of fornication and obviously we are (as the Arcanum 6) with our sight towards the whore, to our own sins, desires in this physical Malkuth, which represents the matter (mother), because Malkuth is represented by the feminine aspect. So we have to turn our face towards the other side, and that is done little by little, by learning how to be in chastity in the world of Yesod, by learning how to transform our sinful matter into a virgin matter. It does not matter whether you are a man or a woman. You have to become a virgin. A virgin means that you have to be in chastity, you have to know how to transform the forces of your physical body, in order for that virgin to give birth to the Messiah. But that process, that permutation of that whore into a virgin is a process of transmutation in Yesod and a creation of the psychic bodies within. That is why when those bodies are already done, when Elijah is already there, when JAH-hanan, who could be within the body of Peter, John, Joseph, etc., it does not matter what name we have in this physical world, that JAH-hanan has to emerge from within. That is why symbolically anyone that reaches that level receives the name of John. Of course, there is also a Master named JAH-hanan. But we are not talking about him. Here, we are pushing all the Masters aside and saying “I am sorry, excuse me Masters, but now we have to deal with us. Master Johanan, you exist, we venerate you, but now we have to deal with what you symbolize, with what you left us and taught us in the past,” that is, JAH-hanan. Yes, John the Baptist came 2000 years ago to symbolize, to represent what we explain here; thus, you must realize that there is more, because it is not simple, as it apparently appears. There is a lot more. In order to explain the whole story of Jah-hanan, we would have to write many books; so, his life is just Kabbalistically written with the abstract mind in order for you to comprehend and to understand. So, are you following me? This is precisely what we have to understand. The Bodhichitta, biblically speaking, is Elijah, who has to appear first in order to prepare the way of the Lord, which is that higher aspect of that light that enters within. We explained in the Epiphany of Christ, in the beginning, how such a light is related to Malkuth. But if that energy, the energy of the Messiah, rises in the physical body, it is because JAH-hanan is already created. The energy of the Savior, the energy of Chokmah, cannot develop in the body, in the Sattva, if the Sattva is not developed. That Sattva we will say in synthesis is the Bodhichitta. So then through Sattva, the energy of the Lord appears in the physical world, and this is how the Bodhichitta starts knowing about the subconsciousness, unconsciousness, infra-consciousness, this, in order to know the abyss because it is here in Malkuth where you find the abyss. When the Child God, the Messiah is being born in Malkuth, it is in the Malkuth of that Bodhichitta or in the physical body of that JAH-hanan, who is already a full and complete man made into the image of God. Thus, the entrance of the Messiah into that physical body delivers to him the mystery of Klipoth, the mystery of the Abyss, because within our own particular Malkuth, which is the physical body, is where we have hell. That hell or inferno is the inferior dimensions, which are subconsciousness, unconsciousness, infra-consciousness, what people call sins, karma and all of that which we have within that we have to know, that we have to study, that we have to comprehend. Malkuth hides the mystery of the abyss and how from the abyss emerges a God. As Nietzsche stated:
So, in the abyss is where we learn how to make a God with our good and evil, with our seven demons, because everyone has those demons within, in other words, these are the seven capital sins. So, we have to make a God with them; but it is through a permutation, a transformation that we have to do it. This is how Ahura Mazda the forgiver, the one that forgives sins enters into us. Christ enters only into us to forgive the sins, the karma of the world of JAH-hanan, if it is created; because the Messiah cannot enter into anybody who does not have the solar bodies already created. Thus, we need to create them. This is how you have to see and comprehend why JAH-hanan has to be created before the Messiah, why he is born before the Messiah, and why he appears first before the multitudes, before the appearance of the Messiah. John is the first Being that appears, he is the JAH-hanan, the man with the bodies created there in Yesod, already teaching the science in front of the multitudes, showing the way he emerged, that is, the way he was born, he teaches to the world how you have to be born again.
When John states “that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham,” he is talking about the philosophical stone of Yesod. Yes, from the same sexual force (axe) God can create more children. Therefore, he who is not in chastity “is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” This is a great symbol for those who are asking for the knowledge, for those who want to enter into the path of the Tree of Life.
But from where was Jesus coming? He was coming from Nazareth. If you read the Gospels you will see that Jesus who was born in Bethlehem, descends into Egypt and from there he rises in the physical body (Malkuth) and as a serpent of light he reaches the root of the nose as the Kundalini of light - not as the Kundalini of fire, because the Kundalini of fire creates solar bodies; yet, the Kundalini of light awakens the man who is already created. And this is the duty of Chokmah. So when that light of the physical body (Malkuth) reaches the root of the nose, then you find INRI there in the chakra of the root of the nose, which means Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum, Nazarenus from Nazare, which means nose, which is reaching the root of the nose, Rex Iudaeorum in Latin means –King of the Jews. Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum - Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews, this one of the meanings of INRI. When we say “King of the Jews” it does not mean king of those people living in the Middle East, in Israel. It means King of those who are being born from the solar force, because the one who created that man was Him, as solar energy; but it is now descending in another level, in another octave. This is why when it is written Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews, Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum – INRI, it means that such a light appears within the already manifested solar man (a Jew). Thus, the solar light, which is cosmic, which is multiple and diluted in the universe incarnated and is manifested and entered into another octave through that man into the physical world. That is why when John sees Jesus coming to him, he is not literally seeing it in the physical world. No, it is inside of him that he is seeing it. He said:
When the Lord said: “Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.” It is as saying, “I come to you in Yesod because here is where I have to be developed through your actions, through your sexual alchemy, through your sexual transmutation, in this level I have to emerge within you.” Do you realize that?
First Christ appears as a development of the psyche inside (this is the first coming). Then as what is called the quickening spirit, the second man inside (this is the second coming). This is happening in every Master - the duality of the Bodhichitta and the Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva in this case is Jesus and the Bodhichitta is John the Baptist. The Bodhisattva enters and develops inside the Bodhichitta. When the Gospels say that Jesus is coming from Nazareth, from the North, understand that this is from the root of the nose, which is the First Initiation of the Light. From the root of the nose, the son of God descends into Yesod in order to start another Initiation of the Light, which is related with these mysteries which we are talking about right now. Behold, when he appears he is a 30-year old man; the Bible states that the last time he appears in accordance to the Gospels he was 12; so there is a big gap between 12 to 30. And if you observe Kabbalistically, you find 18 missing years; this is not a capricious or accidental gap. This is because 18 is the Arcanum that refers to occult enemies that everyone has within. Those occult enemies are the animalistic elements that we have to disintegrate and that we have to deal with. Those elements are related with Klipoth. The 18th Arcanum is in relation with Klipoth. That is why in that time from 12-30 Jesus disappears, since He is dealing with Klipoth. He is knowing himself related with Klipoth. If you make the addition of 8 and 1 you have 9. Then you have again the Ninth Sphere. So he is working in the Ninth Sphere, there in Klipoth, knowing his own enemies, his own defects, vices, and errors. And when he reaches that level, as a Bodhisattva he comes to John again, which is the physical body of the Master that he has to develop inside, thus he receives the Baptism. From the waters it is written that Jesus emerges. From the waters he emerges. This is a symbol of the solar force emerging, or the light emerging in the spinal column of that initiate, who receives the Holy Spirit, the force of understanding, the force of comprehension through the transmutation, through the chastity, and this is because the matter (Malkuth) is already virgin, chaste. It is written that after he receives the force of the Holy Spirit, he develops all the mysteries of the Science of Good and Evil and of the Tree of Life. Yet, before appearing to the multitudes and delivering the message, he has to confront the devil. He has to have the sign, the signature of Lucifer saying okay, you are ready to go. Otherwise he does not go. That is why he is taken into the wilderness, to be tested by Lucifer, Satan, or the devil, whatever you want to call it. Who is this? Why does Jesus need to be tested first in order to appear and start as a Messiah? Every Master has to pass through that test. Lucifer works through the mind of the initiate, whether it is a protoplasmic mind, negative, lunar or solar. Lucifer is the one who tempers that Master through his temptations because in Yesod, which is the roots of Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, is where Lucifer abides. Lucifer is the sexual potency, that fire that gives knowledge, if you take advantage of it. In the beginning of Genesis, you know that Lucifer appeared in the Tree of Knowledge and tempted Eve; but Eve was naïve. She bit the fruit and fell from Yesod and entered into Malkuth as a failure. Thus, this humanity is the outcome of temptation, it is a failure. But a Master, in order to go ahead into the higher Sephiroth, he has to first defeat Lucifer. This is a process of the development of the Bodhichitta. Where is that Lucifer? He is within the body of JAH-hanan. That Lucifer is related, or that Satan, is related with Herod, with Herodias, with Salome, with Pilate. That Lucifer is related with Caiaphas, with Judas, and with all of those elements we have within. This is how all those legions, or the Angels of Lucifer, are testing him. You have to defeat them one by one. And it is synthesized in the three temptations in which you have to know how to defeat your own Lucifer. Jesus goes into the wilderness for forty days and forty nights. Kabbalistically, forty is MEM: MEM, Mayim, the waters of Baptism. In other words, within the waters of MEM is how you control, and how you manage to defeat the temptations of Satan, which represents in this case the Sensual Mind, that mind related with Malkuth.
So when you enter into this path you have to transform your impressions, you have to know about this world. But remember that this wisdom also comes from above, from the superior Sephiroth, and you have to do the effort in order to experience that. That is why in Buddhism, they teach how to meditate, how to have Samadhi, ecstasies, Satoris, in order to receive also that word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. You have to sit down and meditate in order to bring down the wisdom from above, not only from here (the physical world). Since here, if we only start talking about theories, we will fall into mistakes like other Christians who assume that by believing what is written in the Bible you are safe and Jesus will forgive all your sins just by reading or accepting, believing in that. Understand that true wisdom comes from above, and you have to awaken your senses, your inner senses, in order to hear the word of God. Do you know what the word of God is? The word of God is the Voice of the Silence. In other words, it is that “voice from heaven, saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” But for that you have to say, “Satan shut up, you, mind that talks too much, that gives me too many theories, too many sophisms, shut up! Be quiet. I want to hear the voice of God, the voice from heaven.” So, when the mind is quiet and in silence, then Satori, Samadhi enters, and then comes the word, the wisdom (Chokmah) of God. That is the Word that feeds the inner man, the psychic man, the solar man. This is how it is developed. But Satan will always push you towards the outside, to the five senses. Thus, when he is defeated, he comes again; he does not give up very easily. And what does he says in the second temptation? Let me read it for you:
Of course, the Messiah has the power to deal with our own Karmasaya, the karma of adultery, the karma of fornication. Being up there, he has to know how to deal with it. And when this ordeal occurs, the stone is the philosophical stone of Yesod (sex). The tempter (through the mind) says, “So cast thyself. Go ahead and commit adultery.” And Jesus says, “You shall not tempt the Lord thy God.” This is the answer of Jesus. In other words, the Bodhisattva only obeys the commands of the Inner Being. If the Inner Being tells him “Do this, do that in the world of Yesod to defeat this Karmasaya, this Kamaduro,” he will do it, because he is under the command of his own Being. This is what a Bodhichitta and a Bodhisattva combined is. For us who are still in this level, we have to follow the Ten Commandments and all the rules that are written, because we are blind. Once we awaken and we reach that level, those Commandments are not for you. You have to directly receive commands from your Inner Being because he has to manage good and evil and this is something that people do not understand. At that level, an initiate does things that may contradict what is written in the “Deuteronomy,” the written Law. This is the second Law. The first Law is what takes over the Bodhisattva; but only if the Being commands. Of course, this first Law is written in the Gospels as Deuteronomy, but not only in the Hebrew bible but in other scriptures. So your mind, Satan, will tell you, “It is written, you can do this. Throw your self, go ahead,” says Satan. Yet Jesus said, “It is written “You shall not tempt thy Lord thy God.” You do not have to do anything by yourself and if you follow what Satan is telling you, you will lose. This is in relation with sexuality, with the fall.
Do you realize that? You fall down and identify with the sensual world if you worship it. This Malkuth, this kingdom, is created by the mind. All of this society, this civilization is created by the intellectuals – the internet, tv, radio, inventions, all of technology that we find here is created by the mind, Satan, and shows concern only with the matter, the material world. At that level, you have powers, you have the way in order to know how to handle the forces of the world through your mind. Many initiates, when they reach Mastery, immediately, the first thing that they do is say “My sacred name is this. Follow me!” And they like to have a lot of followers behind them. They like to be worshipped. In other words, that Satan is taking over. They did not defeat this test or this temptation. When you are worshipping someone, it is because that one is also worshipping himself. That is wrong. That is why Jesus said unto his own mind, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” It will be absurd for God, already there and developed within the Bodhisattva, to be worshipping the mind. You see the Buddha? The Buddha is always seated with a bowl in his hand and the bowl is facing up, meaning that he is receiving the commands; he is worshipping his interior Being in order to become illuminated. He is a servant, a Bodhisattva of the Lord, but his mind, and the mind of any Master will always say, “Turn down that bowl, forget about God. Turn it down and worship me.” That is the meaning of that – to turn your psyche to your sensual senses and forget about your Spirit: To make business with religion. Have money. Own the earth. And that is why it is written by the Master Samael Aun Weor that is was Jahve who tempted Jesus, physically speaking at that time, because Jahve is the one who is the boss of the Black Lodge. This Jahve is cunningly mixed or confused with the Lord Jehovah. But the Lord Jehovah is one thing and Jahve is another. Jahve is the boss, a demon of the Black Lodge, who tempted Jesus and said, “All the kingdoms of the world I will give you” because he is the boss and the Black Lodge controls the whole planet. “You worship me and kneel before me.” Nevertheless, let me tell you, that demon is represented in our mind. It is our own particular Satan. And that temptation will always come to us. That is why in Buddhism there is no worship of anything. You have to awaken your inner Buddha. You have to defeat Mara and his daughters within, in order for the Bodhichitta to strengthen within you and the Lord to do the work that he has to do. And that is what is written in the Gospels, the Path of the Bodhisattva, that temptation that happened to Jesus that is written there happened to him, happened to Moses, happened to all the Masters, to all the prophets, and will happen to us if we enter onto this path. We have to deal with the mind. Remember that Satan represents the mind, our concrete mind. Not ELIAO because ELIAO, Elijah is the solar mind. It is different. It is that mind whose zeal is always to follow his inner God. If you read the story of Elijah, you will see how he is always obeying God and he has a great zeal towards God, but we have inside Satan, which we have to control. As Jesus said, “It is written, you will obey and serve God.” And this is precisely what we have to do, to use the mind for God. Thus, every time that the mind tells you something which is contrary to the Path of the Bodhisattva, then you have to say, “Mind, you have to serve me. You have to obey my inner God. I don’t have to serve you. I don’t care about your theories or your sophisms, about your beliefs. What I care about is my inner God and you have to serve me because I will utilize you as it is written. You have to serve.” The mind is an instrument that we have to utilize. The mind is the donkey that you have to sit on in order to enter into the heavenly Jerusalem. Unfortunately, in this day and age, all people are servants of the mind, slaves of the mind, of that Pharaoh, which is written in the Book of Exodus. Do you have questions? Question: Would you say temptations are mostly sensory and external and isn’t that where our work begins? Yes, we have to defeat temptation. We always state that temptation is fire and the triumph over temptation is light. But temptation always comes through the mind. Remember that the mind always works with the five senses, with the sensual mind and we always have to deal with this sensual mind every time and every day. In other lectures I explained to you that we have to solve an equation when we are being born, when we are brought into this universe – a big equation. That equation is divided into two parts. Half of the equation is related with the dealing of this world. We have to have a job in order to make money on this planet because with money we have to pay for our shelter and to have clothing and to buy clothes. And we have to eat. So we have to be concerned with that. It would be stupid if we said no, money is vain, we don’t want it. No. We need it. But we don’t have to worship money. But Satan utilizes money. There are people who have enough already but they want to be millionaires, and billionaires. And when they are billionaires they don’t know what to do with their millions and billions. You need money, you need to survive, you need to resolve the first half of the equation. Everybody has to do it the best they can. But the other half is precisely this: to develop within, because if the purpose of life is to come into this world and to become a millionaire, a billionaire, that is so silly. Why do I need to be born in order to be that? - Or just because we have to invent or have to evolve, or something like that. Understand that we have to develop inside. That is the second part of the equation. But no one cares about the second half of the equation. Everybody is identified with the first part and it is what this society is. When we enter onto this path the first part of the equation is a big gymnasium in which you know how to take advantage in order to develop the second half of the equation. In your job, in your home, everywhere, you will always find people who will mock you, who do not care about this path, and you have to learn and find the way in order to take advantage of that, of those temptations, because Lucifer is tempting you all the time. You have to be free, you have to defeat him. Rare are those who completely defeat Lucifer because the great temptation of Lucifer is sexual. You can defeat him if someone is insulting you, you have to control your anger, that’s easy; but a sexual temptation? Or to be in the very sexual act and to avoid the spasm, the orgasm of the animals, that is a defeat to Satan to Lucifer. But you have to do that everyday or every time you perform the sexual act. Every time you are in the sexual act, Lucifer asks: “Okay defeat me again. You defeated me yesterday; I want to be defeated again today.” And he will fight. He will utilize one of his black angels. What is a black angel? Lust - many defects, vices of lust that you have within. He will utilize them in order to make you fall. What is to fall? It is to ejaculate the sexual matter. Then you become a slave of Lucifer, Satan. That is why MEM – forty days in the wilderness is to fight, to work a lot; or forty days in the ark of Noah and forty years in the wilderness. Forty is always related with MEM, the way in which you have to defeat different ordeals all the time and every time is more subtle and more subtle until you reach the level of Job. Question: You said a Bodhisattva falls and becomes bottled up in ego. But he maintains his bodies? Yes, of course. Any fallen Bodhisattva already created the astral, mental, and causal bodies; the solar bodies are within. When he falls all the bodies go with him. Question: [cannot hear very well] But if he is bottled in ego doesn’t lust…? Yes, that is the problem, now he is a mixture, he is what we call a Hanasmuss – someone who has the divine within and also has the devil within. But a fallen angel, a fallen Bodhisattva can rise again with work. Question: Does he have to do the alchemy again? Of course, he has to do the work again and it is harder because when a Bodhisattva falls Satan emerges inside of him again and that Satan is not in the same level of when you defeated him in the beginning. That would be easy. Now Satan says, “I now have more energy, more force, and I would like to see you defeat me again right now.” And that is why there are Bodhisattvas in this universe that do this work seven times. Beyond that is too much. Jesus of Nazareth did this work seven times. That is why he is a being who is admired because he defeated Lucifer seven times in the process. And when a Bodhisattva falls the auric embryo becomes bottled up within ego. It is a mixture. That is why the Master Samael states that a fallen Bodhisattva is worse than a demon because the embryo is bottled up in negativity and he knows how to do things in a worse way. That is why those who are fallen have to be careful of not talking too much. But there is always forgiveness if the Lord wants to forgive you. Question: Can you elaborate on Job. After you defeat Lucifer completely in all of your self and you do not have any ego, you have to be tested in order to see if really you do not have any ego and if really you defeated him. So you have to qualify your development and the one who gives you that qualification is again Lucifer, under the commands of the inner God of that Master. So his inner God appears as well. This is what the Book of Job says, his inner God ask: “Hast thou considered my servant Job?” He has the Bodhichitta and this Bodhisattva is really perfect. “It is good, right?
In other words, Satan says, just give me permission to bother him to see if really he respects you and he is really giving his consciousness and all of that to you. And then God says unto Satan:
In other words,” Okay. He is in your hands, but don’t kill him, don’t treat him bad, just ruin his life right now.” And he goes and ruins his life and the rest as it is known in the Book of Job.
In other words, “Do you see? I told you he is perfect, he did not blaspheme. He has no ego. He is ready for resurrection.”
In other words, “if you take everything that a man has a man will give everything for his life but if you allow me now to touch his physical body and allow me to put a sickness there, you will see how he will blaspheme in your face.” And the Lord says “Okay. I have to receive the okay from you in order to resurrect this guy. So go ahead but don’t treat him very badly.” And he says “Okay.” So, this is the story of every single Master. He receives a sickness and he has to endure it and has not to protest because Satan is applying Katancia, Karmasaya, Kamaduro in accordance to the Law. He is obeying God. So, if the Bodhisattva triumphs, he resurrects, and Lucifer says “I am now your servant. Do whatever you want. What do you want me to do for you?” But this is after resurrection. Before that, Lucifer is just tempting you. But if you defeat him, he will be like Faust, who was transforming his own Lucifer into a horse, a stallion. He was traveling in the fourth dimension with him. But that is a resurrected Master. That is another level. So we are talking about this in steps. That is precisely the great ordeal of Job, which is applied to the Bodhisattva at the end, before Resurrection.

Elijah represents the completely developed solar mind, that solar mind which is utilized by the Spirit.
So this Tree of Science or Tree of Knowledge is symbolized by the Caduceus of Mercury, which in this day and age is utilized to symbolize the science of medicine. It is in relation with our sexual force. If you observe the Tree of Life you find that Knowledge, Gnosis, is written as Daath (below the Trinity, or the three primary forces), located exactly at the throat of the imaginary man that you see there. The roots of the Tree of Knowledge are in Yesod.
When in Kabbalah we place the four Cherubim on the Tree of Life, we put the Eagle, the first Cherub, here in Netzah, then the lion in Hod, and the bull is Malkuth; but the angel is always in Yesod. And it is precisely very interesting to see that when speaking of the Gospel of Mathew, many painters paint Matthew writing his Gospels with an angel behind him advising him what to write, because Mathew or Matthiah (Matthi-Jah) as you say in Hebrew (you always see the word JAH there) the one who receives from JAH, that is the meaning of Matthiah. That is why it is related with the left part of the brain – Matthew as we say in English. So Matthiah is the one who receives from JAH. How are you going to receive from JAH? Only by knowing Daath, the science of Yesod.
The tempter says to the Bodhisattva, “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” When you study esotericism you understand that the bread is a symbol of the supra-substantial understanding or energy that comes from above and which nourishes your soul. This is why the word Bethlehem, means “the house of the bread,” that is the house of wisdom. When you are facing the devil, the devil always pushes you to the senses, to the sensual knowledge, to the stones of Malkuth. In the physical body you receive knowledge. “If you are the son of God make these stones, these impressions you receive through your five senses, be made bread, nourish yourself with that.” But if you become identified with the sensual impressions of this physical world, you forget about your God. This is what many people do. They are identified with theories, with dogmas, with beliefs, which are the stones within petrified minds. “Command that these stones be made bread inside of you, to become wisdom.” And then Jesus answered “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” This means go inside of yourself and see that the real wisdom comes from inside, from above, from the superior Sephiroth. But Satan is in Yesod pointing to Malkuth. Make this to be transformed into wisdom. Jesus said -no, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”
“Then again the devil take him high up into the sitting high mountain, (the mountain of initiation) and show him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them and said unto him all these things will I give thee if thou will fall down (and identify with the sensual world) and worship me (the mind).”
And after that Satan comes again and God says: “Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
