| Objective |
“The modern, revolutionary psychology of the new Age of Aquarius utilizes the terms “objective ” and “subjective” in the following way: A) Objective - Real, spiritual, true, divine, etc. B) Subjective - Vague, incoherent, not precise, illusory, fantastical, absurd.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Three Mountains |
| Occult |
Howbeit we (Gnostics) speak (Kabbalistic) wisdom among them that are (spiritually) perfect: yet (the wisdom of the mysterious Sephirah Daath that is) not the (materialistic) wisdom of this world, nor of the (intellectual) princes of this world (of Kali Yuga), that come to nought: |
| Ocelotl |
(Nahuatl for “tiger/jaguar,” where the name ocelot originated). Refers to the Order of the Tiger Knights amongst the Aztec initiates. These initiates specialized in Jinn science and are considered as Nahua (see: Nahua). They would enter in to the Jinn state and shape shift into Tigers or Jaguars while pronouncing the sacred mantra “We belong to each other.” See: Tlamatinime. |
| Od |
(Hebrew: עד) "The Universal Medicine is, for the soul, supreme reason and absolute justice; for the mind, it is mathematical and practical truth; for the body, it is the quintessence, which is a combination of gold and light. In the superior world, the first matter of the Great Work is enthusiasm and activity; in the intermediate world, it is intelligence and industry; in the inferior world, it is labour; in science it is Sulphur, Mercury and Salt, which, volatilized and fixed alternately, compose the AZOTH of the sages. Sulphur corresponds to the elementary form of fire, Mercury to air and water, Salt to earth. All masters in alchemy who have written concerning the Great Work have employed symbolical and figurative expressions, and have been right in so doing, not only to deter the profane from operations which would be dangerous for them, but to make themselves intelligible to adepts by revealing the entire world of analogies which is ruled by the one and sovereign dogma of Hermes. For such, gold and silver are the Sun and Moon, or the King and Queen; Sulphur is the Flying Eagle; Mercury is the winged and bearded Hermaphrodite, throned upon a cube and crowned with flames; matter or Salt is the Winged Dragon; metals in the molten state are Lions of various colours; finally, the whole work is symbolized by the Pelican and Phoenix. Hermetic art is, therefore, at one and the same time, a religion, a philosophy and a natural science. Considered as religion, it is that of the ancient Magi and the initiates of all the ages; as a philosophy, its principles may be found in the school of Alexandria and in the theories of Pythagoras; as science, its principles must be sought from Paracelsus, Nicholas Flamel and Raymund Lully. The science is true only for those who accept and understand the philosophy and religion, while its processes are successful only for the adept who has attained sovereign volition, and has thus become monarch of the elementary world, for the Great Agent of the solar work is that force described in the Hermetic Symbol of the “Emerald Table”: it is universal magical power; it is the igneous spiritual motor; it is the OD of the Hebrews and the Astral Light, according to the expression which we have adopted in this work. There is the secret, living and philosophical fire, of which all Hermetic philosophers speak only under the most mysterious reservations; there is the universal sperm, the secret of which they guarded, representing it only under the emblem of the caduceus of Hermes. Here then is the great Hermetic Arcanum, and we reveal it for the first time clearly and devoid of mystical figures: that which the adepts term dead substances are bodies as found in Nature; living substances are those which have been assimilated and magnetized by the science and will of the operator. Therefore the Great Work is something more than a chemical operation: it is an actual creation of the human Word initiated into the power of the Word of God Himself." - Eliphas Levi, Dogma et Rituel de la Haute Magie (1855) |
| Od and Obd |
(Hebrew; some translate Odb as Ob) A Kabbalistic symbol representing two energetic forces in the body, known in Sanskrit as Ida and Pingala. "You are my witness (Hebrew: עד OD), saith Iod Hei Vav Hei, and my servant (Hebrew: עבד OBD) whom I have chosen: that ye may know (Da'ath) and believe me, that these are the faces of your Binah: before me "El" (Chesed) was not formed, neither shall he (Chesed) become after me (Binah). I, even I, am Iod Hei Vav Hei; and AIN as part of me is one savior." - Isaiah 43: 10, 11 |
| Oil |
Oil appears as an important symbol throughout the Judeo-Christian scriptures as an important vessel for blessings and empowerments, but its meaning has never been revealed. Analysis of the Hebrew word reveals its true meaning: שמן is spelled shemen but pronounced semen. The symbol of oil hides the secret of sexual transmutation and purity. "And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put [for] his pillows, and set it up [for] a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it." - Genesis 28:18 "At all times, let your garments be white, and let oil [שמן shemen] not be wanting on your head [ראש ro'sh]." - Ecclesiastes 9 "Then Samuel [שמואל Shĕmuw'el] took the horn [keren, the phallus] of oil [שמן], and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit [רוח ruach] of the LORD [יהוה Yĕhovah] came upon David from that day forward." - 1 Samuel 16 "They that [were] foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps." - Matthew 25 |
| Ojas |
(Sanskrit, literally "power or force of life") The energy that results from positive, pure spiritual transmutation, achieved through very specific techniques. "Sublimation is not a matter of suppression or repression, but a positive, dynamic, conversion process. It is the process of controlling the sex energy, conserving it, then diverting it into higher channels, and finally, converting it into spiritual energy or Ojas Sakti. The material energy is changed into spiritual energy, just as heat is changed into light and electricity. Just as a chemical substance is sublimated or purified by raising the substance through heat into vapour which again is condensed into solid form, so also, the sexual energy is purified and changed into divine energy by spiritual Sadhana." - Swami Sivananda, Brahmacharya "The Sanskrit term Ojas means “transmuted sexual energy,” a type of Christic force. The semen is transmuted by means of Maithuna into subtle vapors, and these in turn convert themselves into energies that bipolarize in order to rise through Ida and Pingala up to the brain. To be converted into Ojas (Christic force) the semen must become “cerebrated.” In order to be charged with Ojas (Christic force), the brain must become “semenized.”” - Samael Aun Weor, The Doomed Aryan Race |
| Okidanokh |
A term utilized by Gurdjieff to describe the Ray of Creation, the primary emanation of the Ain Soph, the Solar Absolute. The energy field origin of all the cosmoses and whose vibration manifests through the Law of Three within all dimensional material manifestations. Okidanokh is the fundamental cause of all cosmic phenomena; it is the Christic substance capable of penetrating all cosmic formations. Kabbalistically, it is the life source of the sacred Triamazikamno or Logoic Trimurti: Kether, Chokmah, Binah. |
| Omecihuatl |
(Aztec; Ome, “duality” and Cihuatl, “Lady”) The Lady of Duality. See Ometecuhtli. |
| Omer |
The term Omer (an analogous symbol to that of the Scale of Justice) refers to the measure that was used to determine the quantity (one handful) of grain (this refers to the “hand” or will of God - the Iod within “Hei” the Uterus in Yesod) within which the Manna (his Infinite Sexual Force that originates the Second Birth) is contained. “Speak unto the children of Israel (or igneous particles of the Being trapped within the Ego that - by means of sexual transmutation - are coming out of Egypt), and say unto them, When you enter into the land (spinal medulla) which I give unto you, and shall (by means of sexual transmutation) reap the harvest thereof, then you shall bring an Omer of the first fruits (of the tree of Good and Evil) of your harvest unto the priest (Chesed, the Innermost): And he shall wave the “Omer” before Iod-Havah, to be accepted for you: on the dawning after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. - Leviticus 23: 10, 11 “And you shall count unto you from the dawning after the Sabbath (when you start sexual transmutation), from the day that you have brought the "Omer" (transmuted sexual seed offering); seven Sabbaths (Seven Initiations of Fire) shall be complete: Even unto the day after the Seventh Sabbath (Seventh Initiation of Fire) shall you count fifty days (if Nun, the heir to the throne, the Messiah incarnates); and you shall offer a new meat (of light) offering unto Iod-Havah.” - Leviticus 23:15-16

| Ometecuhtli |
(Aztec; Ome, “duality” and Tecuhtli, “Lord”) The Lord of Duality. This is seen as the Androgynous nature of the Spirit. He is represented as being joined with his spouse Omecihuatl (see entry by that name). Ometecuhtli-Omecihuatl is the Aztec Osiris-Isis, Joseph-Mary, Shiva-Shakti, or Samantabahdra-Samantabahdri. This aspect of the Spirit is seen Kabbalistically within Daath, where divine creativity resides. The conjunction of Ometecuhtli-Omecihuatl is called Ometeotl, the one androgynous spirit.
The dwelling place of Ometeotl is the Omeyocan. The children of Ometecuhtli-Omecihuatl are the four aspects of the Cosmic Christ: Tezcatlipoca, Huitzilopochtli, Quetzalcoatl, and Xipetotec. See Omeyocan, Tezcatlipoca. |
| Ometeotl |
See Ometecuhtli |
| Omeyocan |
A very elevated Aztec heaven, literally meaning “Place of Duality.” Samael Aun Weor states in Aztec Christic Magic: “The Quetzalcoatlian Word makes the Omeyocan fertile, so that life can emerge in the dawn of creation. Unquestionably, only the wind and darkness exist within the Omeyocan before the word can fecundate the chaotic matter. Life waits for the latent instant in order to be awakened to a new activity within Yoalli-Ehecatl, there where the infinite quietude whirls about.” This is related to the mysteries of Daath. |
| Ophanim |
(Hebrew) According to Kabbalah, a being related to the sephirah Chokmah, equivalent to the Christian hierarchical level of “Cherubim.” |
| Ophites |
(Greek) A Gnostic Fraternity in Egypt and one of the earliest sects of Gnosticism; known as the Brotherhood of the Serpent. It flourished early in the second century and while holding some of the principles of Valentinus had its own occult rites and symbology. A living serpent representing the Krestos-principle (not Jesus the man) was displayed in their mysteries and reverenced as a symbol of wisdom, Sophia. |
| Opotherapy |
"In those times, the Atlantean Sacerdotal Medicine discovered what in this day and age we would scientifically call Human Opotherapy, that is, the infusion of glandular juices from the pituitary, thyroid, adrenal glands, etc., to sick and senile organisms." - Samael Aun Weor, The Kabbalah of Mayan Mysteries |
| Ordeals |
Tests and challenges given to the consciousness of every aspirant to the Light. "The ordeals of Initiation are extremely severe. The disciple has to follow a perfect, holy and chaste path. Thus, when reaching the Intimate, the human being becomes converted into a Master of Major Mysteries and into a Theurgist." - Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of Beelzebub “Many esoteric ordeals exist on the initiatic path. It is necessary to pass through the ordeal of the Guardian of the Threshold in the three planes: astral, mental, and causal; it is necessary to pass through the ordeals of fire, air, water, and earth; it is necessary to pass through the ordeal of justice, etc. However, all of those ordeals, as hard and difficult as they might be, become gentle and swift when we compare them with the frightening and tremendous ordeal of the Ninth Sphere (sex).” - Samael Aun Weor, Aztec Christic Magic |
| Order in the Work |
"As we progress in our Inner Work, we can verify for ourselves an interesting order in the system of elimination. One is astonished when one discovers that there is an order in the Work related to the elimination of the multiple psychic aggregates that personify our errors. What is most interesting about all of this is that such an order in the elimination of defects comes about gradually, and is processed in accordance with the Dialectic of Consciousness." - Samael Aun Weor, The Great Rebellion |
| Orichalcum |
The Atlanteans had a metal more precious than gold; this was the famous “Orichalcum.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Kabbalah of the Mayan Mysteries |

from eggs; as, an oviparous animal, in which the egg is generally
separated from the animal, and hatched after exclusion. Quoted from Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary |
