Term Definition
Cabeiri

[Cabiri, Kabeiroi, Kabirs] "The eight Kabirs, those powerful, semitic, ineffable, and terribly divine Gods (who were later worshiped by the Greeks and Romans, and whose principal sanctuary was found always in Samothrace) are intimately related with the holy eight, with the sacred symbol of the infinite. The eight Kabirs are the children of Ephestus or Vulcan and an adorable daughter of Proteus. They were born from the sacred fire (that manifests itself within the terrible profundities of the Earth) by the forging action of Proteus upon that universal substance that naturally has the property of taking any form. These eight Kabirs are the fundamental intelligences of this Nature. They are the extraordinary regents of the great mysteries of life and death. According to a very ancient esoteric tradition, one of those eight Kabirs was assassinated by one of his own brothers; however, later on he was resuscitated with the help of Hermes. This reminds us of the symbolic death and resurrection of Hiram, Osiris, and Jesus that must be comprehended in depth by the M. M." - Samael Aun Weor, The Doomed Aryan Race

Cagliostro

"Cagliostro was a disciple of Count Saint Germain. Cagliostro was an alchemist; he transmuted the lead into gold and made genuine diamonds. This Master was known in the distinct places of the world, under different names in different countries. He was known with the following names: Tis-chio, Milissa, Belonte, DÌanna, Fenix, Pellegrini, Balsamo, Mesmer, Harut and Cagliostro. This famous historical lineage was recorded by Alexandre Dumas in his work entitled, The Queens Necklace. Cagliostro had many Alchemist disciples in Strasbourg. He was judged and persecuted by the Inquisition, sent into the bastille and later into the fortress of Leone. The Inquisition condemned him to death, but the enigmatic and powerful Count Cagliostro mysteriously disappeared from the prison. Death could not do anything to Cagliostro." - Samael Aun Weor, The Aquarian Message

Caiaphas

The High Priest of the Christian Gospels who pushed for the crucifixion of Jesus. He symbolizes the Demon of Evil-will, one of the Three Traitors, and is related to the emotional center and the Lunar Astral Body.

Cain

(Hebrew קין) Kain, Qayin or Kayin. Son of Adam and Eve. The name Kahyin literally means, “to possess.” Cain, like all esoteric symbols, carries different meanings.

"And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bore Cain, saying, I have acquired a man from the Lord." - Genesis / Beresheet 4:1

  1. "The mind is called Cain. The mind is a hunter. The mind is hunting for fortunes, social positions, fame. This mind is utilized by the know-it-all-scoundrels in order to triumph; they feel they are wise and powerful with that animal lunar mind that is well-cultivated. [...] We must kill Cain, which is the lunar mind. This mind is worthless and it must be eliminated. It must be killed because it is animalistic." - Samael Aun Weor, Tarot and Kabbalah

  2. "The third Root Race, the Lemurian people, arose (always by modification) from the Hyperborean. This race was the separating hermaphrodite Cain and Abel, which lived upon the gigantic continent of Mu, or Lemuria as it was later called, that was situated in the Pacific Ocean." - Samael Aun Weor, The Gnostic Magic of the Runes

  3. קין (Kuf, Iod, Nun-Sophit) means ‘smith’, as in metal-smith, or more precisely as in blade-smith, a required skill (or kenning = knowing) of Alchemy (the melting of metals). Thus the name (Cain) in the Book of Genesis is a descriptive appellation to Alchemists.

Cancer (illness)

"(The zodiacal influence of) Cancer produces the sickness that carries its name. Cancer (the illness) is the Karma of fornicators." - Samael Aun Weor, The Zodiacal Course

Universal Gnosticism presents to humanity several cures for the horrible illness of cancer. See the book Occult Medicine and Practical Magic by Samael Aun Weor.

Cancer (zodiac)

(June 21 to July 22) The fourth sign of the zodiac. Ruled by the moon and related to the element water.

“The natives of Cancer are tenacious, and like the crab, they prefer to lose a leg than to lose their prey. The natives of Cancer triumph on long trips. During the first quarter of the moon and during full moons their enterprises are carried out successfully. The character of the natives of Cancer varies according to the cycles of the Moon. The natives of Cancer are romantic and sentimental but when they get angry, their anger is terrible.”  - Samael Aun Weor, The Manual of Practical Magic

Candlesticks

"The seven candlesticks which the Saint of Revelation saw are the seven churches of the spinal medulla." - Samael Aun Weor, The Perfect Matrimony

Capricorn

(December 22nd to January 19th) The tenth sign of the zodiac. Ruled by the Saturn and related to the element earth.

“The natives of Capricorn are pessimistic and melancholic. The natives of Capricorn have a great aptitude for earning their daily bread. The natives of Capricorn are hardworking and industrious, and have a high sense of their own moral responsibility. A Judas who betrays them is never lacking during their lives. Every Capricorn has to go through a tragedy in love... a terrible betrayal of love.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Manual of Practical Magic

Cathexis

A term commonly used by Sigmund Freud that refers to the psychic (sexual) energy invested in any particular mental formation.

"The psychic energy, cathexis, processing itself as an executive force, is formidable. The reserves of intelligence are the different parts of the Being and are denominated as bound cathexis or psychic energy in a potential and static state. The bound cathexis orients us in the work related with the disintegration of the ego and with the liberation of the mind. The bound cathexis, contained within the mind, guides us in the work related with Revolutionary Psychology and with Integral Revolution. The values of the Being constitute the bound cathexis. Only the bound cathexis can liberate the mind through the disintegration of the undesirable psychic elements which have been segregated by means of structural and transactional analysis. Bound cathexis is different from loose cathexis, since the latter is the psychic energy which the ego utilizes to dominate the mind and the body for its manifestation. We have to permit the bound cathexis (which is the dynamic psychic energy) to be the one to direct our existence. We have to work psychologically in order for the bound cathexis to enter into activity to dominate and govern the free cathexis. This free cathexis is the energy of the body which has always been pitifully dominated by the loose cathexis, which is the ego." - Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of the Dialectic

Causa Causarum

(Latin) "Cause of causes."

Causal Body

The Body of Conscious Will, related to Tiphereth and the Human Soul. And finally, it will be necessary to create the Egoitoorasiana body or the body of Will of the Being, which is the Causal body. - from Questions of Importance to Women

Causal World

The World of Causality or Conscious Will, which is related to the Sephirah Tiphereth in the region of the Sixth Dimension.

Celibacy

An unmarried state. Nowadays, this term is used incorrectly to refer to a state of renouncing sex.

Cellular Region

The physical world.  (1st-3rd dimensions)

Centers, Seven

The human being has seven centers of psychological activity. The first five are the Intellectual, Emotional, Motor, Instinctive and Sexual Centers. However, through inner development one learns how to utilize the Superior Emotional and Superior Intellectual Centers. Most people do not use these two at all.

Chac-Mool

The Mayan god of rain, thunder, and abundance.  This deity is seen carved on the footsteps of temples in a position that is useful for Astral travel.  This is the Mayan deity associated with the Third Logos or Holy Spirit.  It is the Mayan equivalent of Tlaloc.  See: Tlaloc.

Chakra

(Sanskrit) Literally, "wheel." The chakras are subtle centers of energetic transformation. There are hundreds of chakras in our hidden physiology, but seven primary ones related to the awakening of consciousness.

"The chakras are points of connection through which the divine energy circulates from one to another vehicle of the human being." - Samael Aun Weor, Aztec Christic Magic

Chambers

In Universal Gnosticism, there are three levels of help and instruction. First Chamber is the public, introductory teaching. Second Chamber is for those who have committed themselves to Gnosis and the death of the ego. Second Chamber is kept secret as it is a sacred and profound trust. Third Chamber is an even more advanced level of help, which is also kept Hermetically Sealed. These Three Chambers reflect the universal nature of all true Initiatic Colleges: in Masonry the initiates of each level were called (1) Apprentice, (2) Journeyman or Craftsman, and (3) Master. In Tibet, the same system is preserved. It is important to note that Samael Aun Weor emphasized the necessity for the Three Chamber system and any school that does not maintain this structure is lacking the connection to the Logos Samael. Only those Institutions who maintain the Chambers can be said to be true Gnostic Schools, wherever they may be.

"We are therefore working, my dear brethren, to initiate the Era of Aquarius. We are working in order to save what is possible, meaning, those who allow themselves to be saved. This is why it is necessary that we shape our Gnostic Movements and that we organize them each time better; that we establish the Three Chambers. Our Gnostic Movements must have exactly Three Chambers. Each Lumisial must have Three Chambers for the instruction of our students. Our Gnostic Centers receive a name in a very pure language that flows like a river of gold that runs under the thick jungle of the sun; that name is LUMISIALS." - Samael Aun Weor, from a lecture entitled The Final Catastrophe and the Extraterrestrials

See also: The Three Chambers

Chaos

(Greek) There are three primary applications of this term.

"The first Chaos from which the cosmos emerged is between the Sephiroth Binah and Chesed. The second Chaos, from where the fundamental principles of the human being emerged, exists within Yesod-Mercury, which is the sexual human center. The third Chaos, the Infernal Worlds, exists below the Thirteenth Aeons in the region of Klipoth, in the underworld." - Samael Aun Weor, The Pistis Sophia Unveiled

The Abyss (not the Inferior Abyss), or the "Great Deep." Personified as the Egyptian Goddess Neith. The Great Mother, the Immaculate Virgin from which arises all matter. The Chaos is WITHIN the Ain Soph. The primitive state of the universe. Esoterically, a reference to the semen, both in the microcosm and the macrocosm. Alchemically, it is said to be a mixture of water & fire, and it holds the seeds of the cosmos.

Charity

Sacrifice for suffering humanity. Loving-kindness towards all beings. One of the three primary factors for spiritual development.

"Charity is a matter of common sense. To give food to the hungry is something very humane, because even the prisoners have to eat, otherwise they would die of hunger. To give drink to the thirsty is something very logical, since it would be cruel to deny a glass of water to a thirsty person. To give a shirt to the naked is something very natural; to console the afflicted one is very humane; so, we do not needed judges for that. Nevertheless, it would be an absurdity to give alcohol to the drunkard, or to lend a weapon to an assassin. Love is law, but love with cognizance!" - Samael Aun Weor, Beyond Death

Chasmalim

(Hebrew) According to Kabbalah, a being related to the sephirah Chesed, equivilent to the Christian hierarchical levels of “Dominions” and “Powers.”

Chastity

Alchemical transmutation of the sexual energy while renouncing animal desire and the orgasm. Absolute chastity is perfectly clean and virtuous, free of lust and animal desire.

Chavajoth

"Chavajoth directs the negative ray of the Moon... Chavajoth has a physical body. Chavajoth is now reincarnated in Germany; he poses as a war veteran and works for the Great Black Lodge. In the inner worlds, the black magician Chavajoth dresses in a red tunic and wears a red turban. This demon cultivates the mysteries of black sexual magic in a tenebrous cavern. He has many European disciples." - Samael Aun Weor, The Perfect Matrimony

In relation with our personal psychology, Chavajoth, Chavayoth, or Chavayot is Kabbalistically read Chava-Iod; this means that Chava (the female power of the Holy Spirit - Eve, “the Mother of the Living” - the sexual organs) is through fornication rebelling against the “Iod” (the male willpower of the Holy Spirit in the pineal gland of Adam, the brain). Thus sex is dominating the brain.

Chela

(Sanskrit, from cheta, "servant") Literally, "child." A disciple, the pupil of a guru or sage.

Chemical Ether

One of the four ethers of the Ethereal Body. The chemical ether is related with all the processes of organic assimilation and nourishment.

Chenresi

(Tibetan sPyan-ras-gzigs) Literally, “looking with clear eyes.”

  1. The Tibetan equivalent of Avalokita (Avalokiteshvara). An embodiment of the compassion of the Gods: in other words, the Cosmic Christ. Chenresi is the patron deity of Tibet. Most commonly depicted as standing with one-thousand arms reaching out to aid suffering beings in all the worlds. His sacred mantra is Om Mani Padme Hum.

  2. Samael Aun Weor sometimes mentions “the black Chenresi” in reference to a person who called himself “Chenresi” but was teaching black tantra.

Cherubim

(Hebrew כרבים) Plural of cherub כרב.

"So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." - Genesis / Bereshit 3:24

  1. According to the Kabbalah, a Cherubim is a being related to the sephirah Yesod.

  2. According to Christianity, a Seraphim is the second highest type of angel, related to the sephirah Chokmah.

Chesed

(Hebrew חסד means mercy or loving-kindness) The fourth sephirah of the Tree of Life. Related to the Atmic Body, the Innermost, the Inner Spirit, our own individual Divine Father. Also named Gedulah.

Chet

ח (or Cheth) Pronounced “het.” The eighth letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Chet symbolizes the motion of Universal Life, the Light of the Ain Soph Aur via the Law of the Cosmic Common Trogoautoegocrat. Its Kabbalistic value is 8.

Chief Feature

See: Particular Characteristic Psychological Feature.

Chinese Alchemy

"Heaven is masculine, Yang, and its element is fire. The earth is feminine, Ying, and its element is water. In the Taoist doctrine, we find White Tantrism. The Ying-Yang, the Dragon, and the Tiger are the axis of Taoism. According to Taoist interpretation, the Ying-Yang is the outcome of T’ai Chi, the Prima Matter of the universe and creation emerges from the sexual union of this pair of opposites. Maithuna (Sexual Magic) exists within the White Tantrism of India and Tibet. Buddhist White Tantrism, Chinese Taoism, and the legitimate Tibetan Yogas, practice the Arcanum A.Z.F. Only the infrasexual pseudo-yogis and yoginis (that are so abundant in America and Asia) hate the Arcanum A.Z.F. Chinese Alchemy is the foundation of the authentic schools of Yoga. The Yellow Lodges are schools of regeneration." - Samael Aun Weor, The Esoteric Course of Kabbalah

Chitra Nadi

An energetic canal within the spinal column.

“The seven churches are similar to lotus flowers that are suspended from the famous Chitra Nadi. The canal of Shushumna exists within the medullar canal.  The canal of Chitra Nadi is within this canal of Shushumna.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Aquarian Message

“Within this Sushumna there is a Nadi by name Vajra which is lustrous as Surya (sun) with Rajasic qualities. Again within this Vajra Nadi, there is another Nadi, called Chitra. It is of Sattvic nature and of pale colour. The qualities of Agni, Surya and Chandra (fire, sun and moon) are the three aspects of Sabda Brahman. Here within this Chitra, there is a very fine minute canal (which is known as Canalis Centralis). This canal is known as Brahmanadi through which Kundalini, when awakened, passes from Muladhara to Sahasrara Chakra. In this centre exist all the six Chakras (lotuses, viz., Muladhara, Svadhishthana, Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddha and Ajna). The lower extremity of the Chitra Nadi is called Brahmadvara, the door of Brahman, as Kundalini has to pass through this door to Brahmarandhra. This corresponds to Haridwar which is the gate of Hari of Badrinarayan in the macrocosm (physical plane). The Chitra terminates in the Cerebellum. In a general sense the Sushumna Nadi itself (gross Spinal Cord) is called Brahma Nadi because, Brahma Nadi is within the Sushumna. Again the canal within the Chitra is also called Sushumna, because the canal is within the Sushumna. Ida and Pingala Nadis are on the left and right sides of the spine. Chitra is the highest and most beloved of the Yogins. It is like a thin thread of lotus. Brilliant with five colours, it is in the centre of Sushumna. It is the most vital part of the body. This is called the Heavenly way. It is the giver of Immortality. By contemplating on the Chakras that exist in this Nadi, the Yogi destroys all sins and attains the Highest Bliss. It is the giver of Moksha.” - Swami Sivananda, Kundalini Yoga

Chokmah

(Alternatively Chochmah, Chockmah, Chokhmah; Hebrew חכמה; means wisdom) The second sephirah of the Tree of Life. Related to the Son of the Holy Trinity. Known in Hinduism as Vishnu.

"The Second Logos, Chokmah, is Love, the Agnus Dei, the Immolated Lamb; it is the Fire that burns since the beginning of the world, in all of creation, for our salvation. Chokmah is fire and underlies the depth of all organic and inorganic matter." - Samael Aun Weor, The Initiatic Path in the Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah

Chotavan

(Sk.). Literally means "small rhythm" while Mahavan means "large rhythm". These refer to the rhythms of the Fire of Space, the rhythm of Cosmos.

Christ

Derived from the Greek Christos, “the Anointed One,” and Krestos, whose esoteric meaning is “fire.” The word Christ is a title, not a personal name.

"Indeed, Christ is a Sephirothic Crown (Kether, Chokmah and Binah) of incommensurable wisdom, whose purest atoms shine within Chokmah, the world of the Ophanim. Christ is not the Monad, Christ is not the Theosophical Septenary; Christ is not the Jivan-Atman. Christ is the Central Sun. Christ is the ray that unites us to the Absolute." - Samael Aun Weor, The Initiatic Path in the Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah

"The Gnostic Church adores the Saviour of the World, Jesus. The Gnostic Church knows that Jesus incarnated Christ, and that is why they adore him. Christ is not a human nor a divine individual. Christ is a title given to all fully self-realised Masters. Christ is the Army of the Voice. Christ is the Verb. The Verb is far beyond the body, the soul and the Spirit. Everyone who is able to incarnate the Verb receives in fact the title of Christ. Christ is the Verb itself. It is necessary for everyone of us to incarnate the Verb (Word). When the Verb becomes flesh in us we speak with the verb of light. In actuality, several Masters have incarnated the Christ. In secret India, the Christ Yogi Babaji has lived for millions of years; Babaji is immortal. The Great Master of Wisdom Kout Humi also incarnated the Christ. Sanat Kumara, the founder of the Great College of Initiates of the White Lodge, is another living Christ. In the past, many incarnated the Christ. In the present, some have incarnated the Christ. In the future many will incarnate the Christ. John the Baptist also incarnated the Christ. John the Baptist is a living Christ. The difference between Jesus and the other Masters that also incarnated the Christ has to do with Hierarchy. Jesus is the highest Solar Initiate of the Cosmos..." - Samael Aun Weor, The Perfect Matrimony

Christmas

Christ-Mass, the solar rite celebrated at the solar solstice of winter, which relates to the rebirth of the solar light of the cosmic Christ within matter.

Chromosomes

Materialistic science has only identified forty-six chromosomes, as they are unaware of the vital or ethereal aspect of our physiology in which there are two additional chromosomes, making the actual number forty-eight.

Clairaudience

"Clairaudience is the power to hear in the internal worlds.  Clairaudience is the magical ear." - Manual of Practical Magic

Clairvoyance

A term invented by occultists, derived from the French clair “clear,\ and voyance “seeing.”

\There exists clairvoyance and pseudo-clairvoyance. The Gnostic student must make a clear differentiation between these two forms of extrasensory perception. Clairvoyance is based on objectivity. However, pseudo-clairvoyance is based on subjectivity. Understand that by objectivity we mean spiritual reality, the spiritual world. Understand that by subjectivity we mean the physical world, the world of illusion, that which has no reality. An intermediate region also exists, this is the Astral World, which can be objective or subjective according to the degree of spiritual development of each person.\ - Samael Aun Weor, The Perfect Matrimony

\Positive clairvoyance is achieved only with a great intellectual culture and a great esoteric discipline. The highest cultured people, who are submitted to the most rigorous intellectual disciplines, only achieve the truly positive clairvoyance. The illuminated intellect is the outcome of positive clairvoyance.\ - Samael Aun Weor, Fundamental Notions of Endocrinology and Criminology

The two main categories of consciousness are objective (positive, related with free consciousness) and subjective (negative, related to the deluded perception and opinions of the psychological “I”s). Further, there are five types of clairvoyance, as explained in Fundamental Notions of Endocrinology and Criminology.

1. Conscious clairvoyance: to perceive any given phenomenon (whether internal phenomenon related with the psyche and internal worlds or external phenomenon related to the circumstances of the physical world and nature) through the intelligence of the Monad which is essence or consciousness. Conscious clairvoyance is experienced when one is able to perceive a physical or psychological phenomenon how it really is, in all of its causes and multiple dimensions.

2. Supra-conscious clairvoyance: This is the level of Logoic consciousness. This is only for those Venerable Masters who finish The Great Work. This level of consciousness is Turiya, those Masters who have no ego, who have resurrected, and for those who never dream.

3. Subconscious clairvoyance: This is related to the perception of the egos who are related with memories of past experience. These egos are the most superficial egos whose inherent pattern was defined during the formation of the personality (birth to seven years old). These egos can be created at any time in our lives but the pattern is related to the false personality and the PCPF. An example of a subconscious ego is the one who avoids broccoli for their entire lives because they remember the disgust they had when they were forced to eat it by their parents. Remember that subconscious clairvoyance is the way the ego perceives that particular experience; as in the example, it was the way the ego perceives the impression of broccoli and that example.

4. Unconscious clairvoyance: This is the type of perception that develops through the frustration of desires. Pride constantly talks about himself and how great he is because it if frustrated that nobody else talks about him; this is an unconscious habit. Lust becomes frustrated because it was never able to satisfy its sexual desire to fornicate with a particular movie star, etc. This desire becomes frustrated and in the astral plane projects its frustrated desires in the form of sexual dreams with the image/impression of the movie star.

5. Infra-conscious clairvoyance: The deepest aspects of our egos, related to the spheres of Lilith in the Klipoth. Remember that everything in the universe has its antithesis. The antithesis of the angel of love, Anael, is Lilith, the demon of fornication, black magic and homosexuality. This region is usually only experienced during nightmares. A minority of people bring these egos to the surface, incorporating these elements in action and with the personality. Sadly, this humanity has more and more people who bring the elements of black magic, homosexuality and brutality to the surface of their psychological world.

Coatlicue

The Aztec name for the Divine Mother Death.  She is related to the Hindu goddess of death, Kali.  See: Kali

Cognizance

"To state that “this is good” or “that is evil” is an easy matter, yet to have cognizance of good and evil is very difficult. Likewise, to state that 2 + 2 is 4 is very easy, yet to have cognizance that 2 + 2 is 4 is a matter that pertains to Gods.

"The drunkard knows that drinking alcohol is wrong, yet the drunkard does not have cognizance that drinking alcohol is wrong.  If the consciousness of the drunkard became cognizant that drinking alcohol is wrong, then he would prefer that a millstone be hung about his neck and that he be drowned in the depth of the sea than continue in the vice of alcoholism.

"Our consciousness awakens by means of more elevated levels of the Being and life. Thus, knowledge that does not become cognizance is worthless.  Millions of spiritualist students study our books, yet the intellectual knowledge of the written truths alone is worthless, because having cognizance of these truths is what is important. Thousands of spiritualist students believe they have cognizance of the truths they have read; wretched beings… they are mistaken…

"Only the great Masters of Major Mysteries have cognizance of those truths.

"Students of spiritualist schools are parroting chatterers who repeat what they read, that is all.  Therefore, what is important is the awakening of the consciousness, because the intellect is just a function of the animal soul, yet the consciousness is a function of God." - The Major Mysteries

Collyrium

A solution to wash the eye.  Related to Alchemy, one finds the following quote from Basil Valentine (Triumphant Chariot of Antimony): “You titular Doctors, you I speak to, who write long Scroles of Receipts: you Apothecaries, who with your Decoctions fill Pots, no less than Those (in Prince Courst) in which Meat is boiled for the sustentation of some hundreds of men: you, I say, who hitherto have been blind, suffer a Collyrium to be poured into your Eyes, and permit them to be anointed with Balsom, that the most thick skin of Blindness may fall from your Sight, and you behold the Truth, as in a most clear Glass. GOD grant you Grace, that you may know his wonderful Works, and the Love of your Neighbour be rooted in you, that you may search out true Medicine, which the Ruler of the Heavens hath, by his own omnipotent hand, and his ineffable and eternal Wisdom, from above infused in, impressed on, and communicated to his Noble Creatures, for the Good of Mankind; whence man may find help in his greatest Necessity, and Counsel for Health in his Diseases. Why do you, miserable Worm of the Earth, and food of Worms, look so intently on the Rind or Shell, and neglect the Kernel, being unmindful of your Creator, who formed you according to his Image; when as you ought to give thanks to him, and with diligent Study to search out his Works, exceeding Nature herself? Return and look into your self, there behold the Image of your own ingratitude, that you may be ashamed of yourself, especially because you have not search out those things, which the most wise GOD, for the good of Mortals; hath infused in his Creatures; by knowing which, you might have offered unto him the most acceptable Sacrifice of Praise and Gratitude.”

Commandments

The Second Law given to Moses, as recorded in Exodus 20:2-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21. Samael Aun Weor corrects their order and explains their true meaning:

“Whosoever wants to die in the Lord must practice the Ten Commandments for the new era:

“First:  Thou shalt love thy internal God, and thy neighbor as thy Self.

“Second:  Thou shalt study the secret doctrine of the Savior of the world.

“Third:  Thou shalt never slander thy neighbor, neither shalt thou utter immodest or vain words.

“Fourth:  Thou shalt sacrifice the self for the love of mankind and to love thy worst enemies.

“Fifth:  Thou shalt obey the will of the Father on Earth as it is in heaven.

“Sixth:  Thou shalt not commit fornication, neither adultery, in thy thought, words, and deeds.

“Seventh:  Thou shalt fight against the world, the demon, and the flesh.

“Eighth:  Thou shalt be infinitely patient and merciful.

“Ninth:  Thou shalt practice the Arcanum A.Z.F. with thy spouse.

“Tenth:  Thou shalt wash thy feet in the waters of renunciation.” - The Aquarian Message

Comprehension

(Tibetan: go; Sanskrit: jna, “to know.”)

"To comprehend is something immediate, direct, something that we vividly undergo intensely, something that we experience very profoundly, and which inevitably becomes the true intimate source of conscious action. To remember or to recollect is something dead, something that belongs to the past, and that unfortunately becomes an ideal, a motto, an idea, an idealism that we want to mechanically imitate and unconsciously follow.  In true comprehension, in profound comprehension, in intimate in-depth comprehension, there exists only the intimate pressure of the consciousness, a persistent pressure born from the Essence that we carry within, and that is all. Authentic comprehension is manifested as a spontaneous, natural, and simple action, free from the depressing process of selection; it is pure, without any type of indecision." - Samael Aun Weor, Fundamentals of Gnostic Education

"Knowledge and comprehension are different. Knowledge is of the mind. Comprehension is of the heart." - Samael Aun Weor, Revolutionary Psychology

"The annihilation of the psychic aggregates can be made possible only by radically comprehending our errors through meditation and by the evident Self-reflection of the Being... It is urgent to know how to meditate, in order to comprehend any psychic aggregate, or in other words, any psychological defect. It is indispensable to know how to work with all our heart and with all our soul, if we want the elimination to occur." - Samael Aun Weor, The Pistis Sophia Unveiled

"[The Apostle] Thomas is the part of the Being who is related with the intimate sense of comprehension. A great deal of analysis, reflection, and above all, meditation and evident self-reflection of the Being are indispensable for comprehension." - Samael Aun Weor, The Pistis Sophia Unveiled

"No phenomena of nature can be integrally comprehended if we consider it isolated." - Samael Aun Weor, The Revolution of the Dialectic. This is why the study of Kabbalah is so important: Kabbalah is a map how everything in nature (including our soul) is related to everything else.

Concentration

The ability to focus the attention on one thing without distraction.

Consciousness

"Wherever there is life, there exists the consciousness. Consciousness is inherent to life as humidity is inherent to water." - Samael Aun Weor, Fundamental Notions of Endocrinology and Criminology

From various dictionaries: 1. The state of being conscious; knowledge of one’s own existence, condition, sensations, mental operations, acts, etc. 2. Immediate knowledge or perception of the presence of any object, state, or sensation. 3. An alert cognitive state in which you are aware of yourself and your situation.

In Universal Gnosticism, the range of potential consciousness is allegorized in the Ladder of Jacob, upon which the angels ascend and descend. Thus there are higher and lower levels of consciousness, from the level of demons at the bottom, to highly realized angels in the heights.

"It is vital to understand and develop the conviction that consciousness has the potential to increase to an infinite degree." - the 14th Dalai Lama. See also: Level of Being.

"Light and consciousness are two phenomena of the same thing; to a lesser degree of consciousness, corresponds a lesser degree of light; to a greater degree of consciousness, a greater degree of light." - Samael Aun Weor, The Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology

"Wherever there is light, there is consciousness." - Samael Aun Weor, The Great Rebellion

Cosmic Day

A period of cosmic activity (Sanskrit: Manvantara).

Cosmic Drama

The series of events that every initiate must pass through on the Path to the Self-realization of the Being.

Cosmic Night

A period of cosmic repose. (Sanskrit: Pralaya).

Cosmocreator

An awakened cosmic intelligence capable of creating a planet or sun. An Elohim.
